Chapter 80: Chapter 80
Author's pov
Laying on the hospital bed Orni was waiting for the doctor to come and take her to the operation theatre. Today is her surgery. She was surprised to know that Shivansh managed a donor so early. She was wondering who is this donor. Whenever she asked Shivansh or her parents about the donor they said nothing to her. They always avoided her questions.
" Mumma, won't you return to us? Grandma said the doctor is taking to you somewhere?" Rion asked looking at Orni with innocent teary eyes.
Orni answered smiling back," How can I stay away from my baby bears?"
" Mumma, I am scared. Where will they take you?" Roman asked sounding scared for Orni.
Orni replied kissing his chubby cheeks," Don't be afraid. I will be back soon."
It's time for the operation. Orni was shifted to a stretcher and then two nurses started taking her to the operation theatre. Before entering there her parents hugged her and encouraged her to not be afraid. Shivansh told her to be strong. She met everyone but still, she was missing someone. She was missing Rudraksh. She was wondering why he could not come today. And, Raksha. He didn't bring her too. He knew that today is her surgery then how can he!! She was a bit disappointed that he was absent.
It took hours for Orni's operation and hopefully it was successful. After the surgery, she was shifted to the VIP room. She has to be in the hospital for a few days.
When Orni gained her senses back she discovered herself in a quiet room. Adjusting to the sudden light she looked around. A gasp left her mouth noticing another person right beside her on another bed. The person was back facing her wearing a white dress. Orni wondered who was he?
Her eyes widened and she was stunned to see Rudraksh. It was Rudraksh. He turned his head towards her only to find her astonishing eyes staring at him. Looking at her he gave a warm smile.
" You.......Wait!! You donated one of your kidneys to me," Orni asked with her weak voice.
Rudraksh replied smiling," I never thought we are that similar. My blood group and the pattern of tissues are similar to yours."
" Why?" Orni asked getting emotional.
Rudraksh answered," What do you mean why? If I say I did it because I love you. Perhaps you won't believe it. So, I did it out of humanity."
A slow chuckle left Orni's mouth and she said sarcastically," What a kidney-touching moment, isn't it?"
Both of them giggled looking at each other. Rudraksh was already emotional that he saved Orni while Orni was grateful to him. The respect she had for him increased on another level. He saved her. He returned her to her children. He gave her a new life. Now, she understood that if she gives him a chance he won't disappoint her.
" Thank you," Orni said meekly when a tear rolled down her eyes.
Rudraksh replied sarcastically," That's a very dry Thank you!!"
Orni laughed after hearing him. He joined the laughter looking at Orni's emotional eyes. Slowly, Orni raised one of her weak hands and forwarded it to him. He held her hand looking at her emotional expression.
" Thanks for giving me this life," Orni said bursting into tears that brought tears in Rudraksh's eyes too.

" What can I say about work, Sir? This place really suffocates me," a constable complained to the new jailer.
The new jailer asked chuckling," Why? I thought you were proud of working in the police department."
" I am proud, Sir. I just feel sick around these criminals. In this jail some are murderers, some are rapists, and some are thieves. I don't feel normal among them," the constable complained while the jailer was walking through the corridor.
It's the central jail where VR is kept. Today, a new jailer was appointed and he was visiting the jail. He was inspecting the situation of the prisoners here.
The jailer was crossing a cell which he felt a little bit different than the other cells. A screeching sound reached his ears like someone was brushing something on the rough walls. Getting close to the cell he noticed a man drawing something on the wall.
The jailer was impressed by this prisoner's work on the walls. The prisoner was drawing realistic art. There was a girl's face drawn everywhere on the wall. Apart from that, there were two little boys and a little girl's faces were drawn too. Diverting his gaze at the prisoner he was a little bit surprised. This prisoner was different from the others.
" He is the most civilised among these assholes," The constable informed noticing the jailer's interest.
The jailer asked," Who is he?"
" I heard he is the son of Indrajit Randhawa. You may have heard the name of the Vipers. He was their leader," The Constable answered.
That's when VR turned his head behind. Without giving any reaction to the jailer he concentrated on his work but the jailer recognised him. His eyes widened after knowing that the man he was looking at was a criminal.
" Ranvijay Mehra. You are Ranvijay Mehra, aren't you?" The jailer asked.
VR asked back without stopping his work," How do you know me?"
" My daughter is a big fan of your art. She has visited your art galleries uncountable times," The jailer answered but VR didn't reply anything further.
The jailer asked curiously," I am shocked to see you here. I was wondering how can you be Vijendra Randhawa?"
" Destiny," VR answered shortly which the jailer didn't understand at all.
He asked further looking at the art on the wall," By the way, whom are you drawing?"
VR didn't show much interest in talking to the jailer. He kept his mouth mum and continued drawing a face. The jailer was slightly pissed off by VR's attitude.
" He is drawing his wife's faces and kids' faces. He passes his time like that. I heard that he surrendered himself to the police because his wife said so," The constable informed.
The jailer said forwarding his legs," Then, he might love his wife a lot."
VR heard this and stopped his work. Did he really love Orni? If he did then how could he do those horrible things to her? Whenever he remembers this he feels like the most unfortunate person in this whole world. He had a lot of chances to mend his ways with Orni but like a fool, he continued messing up everything. And, now he is paying for his Karma.
He remembered the proverb 'As you sow, so you reap'
