Chapter 81: Chapter 81

Time passed calmly in the afternoon; at least while working, Joel didn't play any mischievous tricks or surprise Primrose with sudden kisses. She was comfortable and didn't need to be cautious anymore. She spent the afternoon leisurely, wearing AirPods and watching TV shows, and then returned home with Joel.

Initially, Primrose had some difficulty adjusting to this unusually comfortable life, but it quickly became a habit. She was entirely satisfied with her current job and Joel's attentive care for her.

After returning from the company, instead of cooking as usual, Joel ruffled Primrose's hair and mentioned that they would dine out tonight. Occasionally, Joel would book a table at some famous restaurant for dinner, so Primrose didn't question it. She obediently went upstairs to freshen up and change.

When she emerged in an intricately designed white dress, Primrose slowly smoothed her hair and smiled sweetly at Joel.

"How do I look? Do I resemble the most beautiful woman in the world?"

Joel chuckled in response, Primrose, taking her hand, and lightly kissing it before replying.

"Of course, in my eyes, you're always the most beautiful."

Joel's breath seemed to linger on Primrose's hand, making her feel entranced. Her gaze at Joel became even softer. His sweet words and deep, soothing tone were like honey poured into her ears, causing Primrose to lose herself in the melodic notes.

When the two of them arrived at the restaurant, everything slowly returned to its usual course. They ordered familiar dishes. Joel took care of Primrose in every detail as usual, and she was happy to receive such attentive treatment. However, today they shared a bit of red wine, creating an atmosphere that seemed slightly hazy.

"Have a bit more beefsteak, Primrose."

Under the golden light of the restaurant and the shimmer of candles, Joel's face seemed even more attractive and handsome. Primrose couldn't take her eyes off his determined brows, high and straight nose, and beautifully sculpted face. His flawless skin was so perfect that sometimes a girl like Primrose felt a twinge of jealousy.

Primrose involuntarily licked her lips, feeling her throat dry and hot. Perhaps the wine was making her senses slightly blurry, for suddenly she felt an intense urge to kiss Joel.

Primrose was someone who acted on her thoughts, so she did just that. She stood up from the table, approached Joel, and sat on his lap, delicately placing her hand on his neck. Joel seemed somewhat surprised by Primrose's response, but he quickly caught on and allowed the moment to unfold. He let Primrose stroke his lips before gently kissing her, using his lips to tenderly trace the outline of her delicate mouth.

The kiss didn't last too long, but it infused the air with warmth. As they parted from the kiss, Joel's hand still rested on Primrose's waist, playfully tapping her nose.

"Already drunk after just one glass of red wine? Or should we have another glass, then go home for something more intimate?"

Lately, Joel's words seemed to be growing bolder and more daring, leaving Primrose somewhat lost for words and blushing. She bit her lip, embarrassed, wanting to stand up from Joel's embrace, but he pulled her in again, and their lips met once more in a passionate kiss.

"Sweetie, I was just kidding. I adore that side of you, and I love it so much that my heart races like crazy."

Joel placed Primrose's hand over his heart, letting her feel its excited rhythm due to her presence. Primrose tilted her head, wanting to escape. The atmosphere had become too sweet, and her limbs had started trembling while beside Joel.

Fortunately, Joel didn't continue; he just whispered in her ear that they would talk more once they got home and then gently ruffled her hair. They both stood up and left the restaurant. He was also very gallant, offering his hand to support Primrose's waist, allowing her to regain her strength and walk forward with a straight posture.

The two of them walked down to the garage, and as they got into the car, just when Primrose thought the date was ending, Joel leaned in closer to her and whispered.

"Sweetie, would you like to go to the cinema? Add a little warmth to our date."

Primrose pursed her lips, thinking for a few seconds, then nodded. This was the first time she was going to the movies with Joel, so she was looking forward to it. Joel got the answer he wanted, kissed her forehead, and drove away. The black Rolls Royce swiftly glided through the crowded streets.

Today, the movie theater was relatively empty, not being a weekend, so they didn't have to wait too long to buy tickets. Primrose and Joel chose a romantic movie that suited Primrose's taste. The banner displayed the main characters standing side by side on a gentle, lush green meadow under a clear sky.

"Is this your girlfriend? She's so pretty. The two of you make a great couple."

As Primrose handed the ticket to Joel, the ticket seller couldn't help but exclaim, their melodic voice lingering in the air and making Primrose feel somewhat embarrassed. She shyly lowered her head and brushed her hair behind her ear, only to coincidentally hear Joel's proud response.

"Thank you for the compliment. But she's not my girlfriend; she is my wife."

Joel's tone when speaking to strangers was always cool and composed, but of course, Primrose could detect a hint of concealed joy in it. Joel also unconsciously straightened his posture with a touch of pride, then led Primrose into the movie theater, causing her to break into a shy smile.

Primrose initially thought that the idea of going to the cinema had just popped into Joel's mind. However, as she stepped into the theater, she realized that everything had been planned in advance. Inside the screening room, there were only the two of them sitting side by side, and the dim lights added to the sweet obscurity of the scene.

"I guess you must have chosen this film, so you quickly booked this room. Our date also needs some privacy, right?"

Joel offered a piece of popcorn to Primrose and whispered as the movie began. Primrose ate the popcorn and quietly side-eyed Joel, but she felt a rush of happiness inside. She certainly hadn't expected that someone as seemingly aloof as Joel could also create such a grand and sweet surprise.

It was the first time Primrose went to the movies with Joel, so she cherished this moment. She leaned her head against Joel's shoulder, fully immersing herself in the movie. The lines on the screen moved slowly within her sight, and her tumultuous heart gradually calmed down.

The movie was a classic romance about the love story of Lala and Troy. They had been together since their struggling days of poverty. Driven by their passion for design, they built a successful jewelry design company together. In the beginning, they faced many challenges and difficulties, but with their love and unwavering trust in each other, they succeeded and became wealthy.

In the end, their company grew and became the most renowned among other jewelry design companies, with branches all over the world. After enduring hardships, Lala and Troy cherished and loved each other even more. The movie concluded with their joyous welcoming of their beautiful firstborn daughter.

The romantic and meaningful movie ended. As Primrose stood up to call Joel to leave, suddenly the lights in the movie theater brightened, and sparkling lights, like crystal, illuminated the warm scene inside. There were pink balloons formed into beautiful flower shapes, silk ribbons and bows tied elegantly, and the movie screen suddenly displayed a different scene.

"Primrose, this is the secret I've been keeping for you."

Joel whispered in Primrose's ear, their hands entwined. Joel's gentle smile melted away the feeling of unfamiliarity, causing Primrose's heart to skip a beat.

Something had surpassed the original expectations, causing everything to become uncontrollable.
