Chapter 80: Chapter 80
Since boarding the plane, Primrose has remained cautious of Joel as usual, maintaining an extremely cold and distant attitude and not uttering a word to him. Joel had grown accustomed to the silence and indifference, so he didn't dare disturb her, sitting up straight with his back against the seat.
After a while, Primrose began to feel drowsy and quickly leaned back against the airplane seat, falling asleep. Joel made sure to carefully place a thin blanket over her to keep her warm before closing his eyes to rest as well. Waking up early had left their bodies tired and sleepy.
A few hours later, as Joel drifted into sleep, he felt a slight weight on his shoulder and a sweet fragrance wafting around his nose. He turned his head to look, and his gaze became even more tender as he saw that Primrose had rested her head on his shoulder and was sound asleep.
Her smooth white face had a faint rosy hue, her nose gently rising and falling with each breath, and her eyes were closed beautifully. Joel softly curved his lips, raising his hand to gently adjust Primrose's sleeping position to make her more comfortable before continuing to doze off.
After a few hours, the successful flight landed with a noisy announcement, bringing Primrose and Joel back from their dreams. They blinked and looked around as they slowly woke up. Everyone was preparing to disembark, and they also tidied up their belongings to leave the plane.
Upon disembarking, Joel got off first and then reached out his hand towards Primrose. She was worried about getting separated, and her mind was still a bit foggy, so she calmly reached out and held his hand, both of them leaving the aircraft together. When they stopped at the airport, now walking side by side, Joel maintained his carefree demeanor and lightly asked Primrose,
"Aren't you angry with me anymore?"
At this point, Primrose seemed to have just remembered that her anger hadn't fully subsided. She sighed, withdrew her hand from Joel's, tucked it into her coat pocket, and walked straight ahead with an icy demeanor. Primrose's unexpected change amused Joel, who chuckled softly and followed along with their luggage.
Brian couldn't help but pat Joel on the back in consolation. Women's emotions were as changeable as the wind, and anger could arise suddenly.
That's what he thought, but of course, he didn't dare say it aloud with Nancy nearby. If she heard, she would definitely tweak his ear in public.
After a half-morning on the plane, the four of them finally returned home, tidying up their belongings and then returning to their respective jobs. Brian went back to the hospital to work as an exemplary doctor; Joel was the hardworking and cool CEO; and Primrose and Nancy were enthusiastic employees.
The difference was that Nancy was enthusiastic about work, whereas Primrose was enthusiastic about having breakfast in Joel's office.
Due to the early morning flight, they hadn't had time to have breakfast at home. Joel had just drunk a cup of coffee to stay awake, while Primrose leisurely enjoyed a sandwich while scrolling through her phone in Joel's office. She propped her feet up on the chair, relishing the coolness of the room and marveling at how wonderful everything was.
Normally, Joel wouldn't eat in his office, but he made an exception for Primrose so she could feel comfortable doing what she liked. Primrose glanced at Joel, who was focused on the screen. His determined gaze and slightly furrowed eyebrows were incredibly attractive. His clearly defined knuckles glided over the keyboard, a sight that was quite captivating. Just below, the buttons of his shirt were undone at the top, and from her angle, Primrose could catch a glimpse of Joel's well-defined collarbone.
Primrose licked her lips; indeed, a man engrossed in his work was always the most attractive.
"Do you want to eat a piece?" she asked.
Primrose took another bite of her sandwich and then offered it to Joel's lips. He slightly narrowed his eyes and then took a bite where she had just eaten. She didn't compare it to Joel's bite, only muttering some playful complaints in her heart before offering Joel a bit more to eat. After all, skipping breakfast wasn't good for their health.
The tranquil morning continued to pass by, and by noon, they went out to eat at a familiar restaurant. Joel swiftly pulled out the chair for Primrose to sit in, and she, who had calmed down by now, sat down with a content look in her eyes, gazing at Joel playfully.
As the food arrived, Primrose had ordered a portion of pasta with cream sauce, so she was currently focused on eating, occasionally using a napkin to wipe the cream sauce from the corner of her mouth. Joel ate silently across from her and then offered a plate of shrimp to Primrose's lips.
"Have a bite. Don't you usually like shrimp with cream sauce?"
Primrose looked at the pre-peeled shrimp on the plate, contentedly licked her lips, and finished them. Joel was always very proactive; every time they had shrimp, he would sit seriously, peel them, and offer them to her, which made Primrose very happy.
"Have a little more. Just eating a plate of pasta won't be enough to fill you up."
Joel pushed the plate of pre-peeled shrimp towards Primrose. She swiftly and elegantly used her fork to eat each piece. After finishing her meal, Primrose wiped her mouth happily and stood up, ready to head back to the company.
"I peeled the shrimp until my fingers hurt, and you still didn't comfort me a bit? Such a heartless woman."
Joel brought his hand to his face, feigning resentment; his handsome face was filled with a submissive expression that made Primrose feel sorry for him. She thought of the plate of shrimp he had painstakingly peeled earlier and placed it on her plate. She realized his words were right and leaned towards Joel, giving him a light kiss on the cheek. The warmth on his cheek spread to the depths of Joel's tranquil heart, resonating with gentle and profound feelings.
"Not enough. You know where I want you to kiss me."
After the kiss, Primrose tried to escape, but Joel was quick and sly, reaching out to wrap his arm around her waist and pulling her closer, their faces almost touching. Joel's voice was always deep, magnetic, and soothing to the ears, every utterance causing a delightful shiver to run down her spine.
Particularly when Joel spoke in such ambiguous words, Primrose found it impossible to remain composed.
"Greedy thing."
Primrose pouted with playful reproach, but in the end, she obediently tilted her head and gave Joel a gentle kiss on the lips. She had intended for a light and fleeting kiss, but as soon as her lips brushed against Joel's, he leaned in, attempting to pull away. Unexpectedly, Joel was more cunning than she had anticipated, not only holding her waist but also placing his hand behind her neck, intensifying the kiss and making it burning and even more passionate. Primrose's gaze grew hazy, her eyes turning a delicate shade of pink and her breath slowly being overtaken.
After a long kiss, Primrose's body had already softened, relying on Joel's support to remain upright. Her legs were a bit shaky, and her lips were slightly trembling and turning an unusual shade of swollen red. At a glance, she looked like an innocent bunny who had just been bullied. She leaned against Joel's shoulder, breathing somewhat raggedly, and lightly punched his chest as if venting her anger. Joel remained silent and endured the blow, his chest slightly quivering as he wore a gentle smile and held Primrose even tighter.
"Done hitting me? Shall we head back to the company now?"
After Primrose's breath had returned to a steady rhythm, Joel gently stroked her hair and asked. Primrose pursed her lips and nodded, then let Joel hold her hand and lead her away. The two of them left the restaurant, walking side by side.
When they returned to the company together, Joel led Primrose to the resting room for a brief break before the afternoon work. Primrose had originally planned to lie down for a while to relax, but the moment she lay down on the bed, Joel pinned her down and continued to hold her, kissing her deeply.
Resting? Clearly, the majority of Joel's time was spent kissing and teasing her lips, thought Primrose, with a hint of annoyance in her heart.
