Chapter 63: Chapter 63

Joel's back provided Primrose with a sense of tranquility and stability. His every step was careful and steady. There were a few guests who hadn't left yet, looking toward the two of them. Primrose blushed and buried her head in Joel's shoulder as if wanting to escape from reality.

However, they didn't discuss anything, just silently smiling, making Primrose even more embarrassed. "It's okay; they will just think that our affection is genuine," Joel suddenly said, his tone both gentle and affectionate. Every time he was with Primrose, he consciously lowered his tone to make his voice less cold, which made Primrose more comfortable when listening.

When they reached the garage, Joel carefully helped Primrose out of the car and settled her into the passenger seat. He fastened her seatbelt and then took the driver's seat. They drove home steadily, and upon reaching home, Joel quickly helped Primrose stand up, then leaned down to carry her back to the room.

Primrose was suddenly lifted off the ground, a bit startled, clutching onto Joel's shirt, which brought their faces close, almost touching lips. Joel didn't continue the intimate gesture; he only chuckled softly. "Eager to kiss me, huh? Don't worry, later I won't just kiss your forehead; I might even kiss your lips."

Primrose bit her lip without saying anything, quietly cursing Joel in her mind for being so insinuating while maintaining an intimate tone. If she hadn't gotten used to this behavior, she might have turned as red as a tomato due to Joel's suggestive words.

After settling Primrose on the bed, Joel gently patted her head and then got up to find some ointment for Primrose's feet. The cool ointment touching her skin made Primrose instinctively flinch, and Joel had to hold her legs gently to soothe her. "Stay still. I'll help you apply the ointment. It'll heal faster if you apply it to the right place."

Primrose nodded, obediently refraining from moving. Once Joel finished applying the ointment, he put the ointment jar away, washed his hands, and leaned in to give Primrose a light kiss on the forehead. "Feeling tired? Want to rest for a bit or go to the bathroom to freshen up?"

Feeling a bit uncomfortable with her makeup, Primrose asked Joel in a gentle voice if she could freshen up in the bathroom inside their room. Joel nodded and lifted Primrose into his arms, gently placing her in front of the sink and carefully closing the bathroom door behind her.

After Primrose came out, Joel had already prepared breakfast and had even called for help from the housekeeper to take care of Primrose while they were at home. Joel usually didn't like having strangers in the house, so the housekeeper only came occasionally to clean when both he and Primrose were out. That's why Primrose hadn't met the housekeeper before. Today, she heard a pleasant voice outside the room.

"Primrose, are you awake? Would you like to get up and brush your teeth? Let me help you." The housekeeper's name was Laila, and she was a kind elderly woman. She entered the room and offered her assistance when she heard Primrose's voice.

"Sure. Thank you for helping me get up," Primrose said with a smile. Her swollen leg made it difficult to move, and Joel had told her to avoid sudden movements, so she was grateful for the assistance.

Laila gently helped Primrose stand up and supported her as they walked to the bathroom. After a few minutes, Laila guided Primrose back to the bed and set up breakfast on a small table beside it.

"Joel prepared breakfast. I've heated it up. If you need anything else, just let me know." Laila's gentle and kind demeanor made Primrose feel comfortable. She thanked Laila and elegantly enjoyed her breakfast. After Laila cleared the table, Primrose lazily rested her head against the headboard and took out her phone to read some news.

Since her leg wasn't allowing her to move around easily, Primrose spent most of the day in bed, relying on Laila for assistance. With nothing else to do, she found an interesting book to read, and Laila even brought her a fragrant fruit tea. Primrose sipped her tea and read her book, enjoying a leisurely day.

When Joel returned, Primrose was reclining on the bed, engrossed in her book. The bedside lamp illuminated her delicate and attractive face, and her clear and expressive eyes focused on the pages. Her appearance in a blue-striped sundress made her look like a beautiful and elegant young lady. Joel leaned against the doorframe, admiring the scene, before slowly approaching.

"Primrose, how was your day? Is everything comfortable at home?" He asked in a husky voice, his gaze fixed on her.

Primrose looked up from her book to meet Joel's gaze, shaking her head gently. Her gaze was as clear and agile as ever. Joel gently ruffled her hair and then leaned down, lifting the blanket slightly to touch her smooth legs.

"Is your leg still hurting? Did you remember to apply the ointment on time today?" Joel's touch was gentle, and Primrose felt at ease. Since morning, Joel had instructed her to apply the ointment properly and had asked Laila to assist, so she hadn't forgotten.

"Very good. As I said, a good girl deserves rewards, doesn't she?" Joel chuckled, his voice containing both tenderness and a hint of teasing. As Primrose was still trying to comprehend his words, she felt Joel's lips on hers in a swift kiss. Primrose instinctively closed her eyes and felt the warmth and sweetness on her lips.

"Why so obedient? Sweetie, you're truly adorable." Joel embraced Primrose, allowing her to rest her head against his chest, his body warmth making her feel incredibly secure. The laughter echoed gently, causing Joel's chest to vibrate slightly. Primrose stayed in his embrace, absorbing the tenderness of the moment.

Later, when Joel returned home, Primrose was lying comfortably on the bed, engrossed in a book. The bedside lamp cast a soft glow on her refined features, and her clear, bright eyes focused on the pages. Joel leaned against the doorway, admiring the scene, before gradually walking over.

"Primrose, how was your day? Are you comfortable at home?" He inquired in a husky tone, his eyes fixed on her.

Primrose looked up from her book, meeting Joel's gaze, and shook her head gently. Her gaze remained as sharp and agile as ever. Joel gently ruffled her hair and then bent down, lifting the covers slightly to touch her smooth legs.

"Is your leg still bothering you? Did you remember to apply the ointment on time today?" Joel's touch was gentle, and Primrose felt at ease. Since morning, Joel had reminded her to apply the ointment properly and had asked Laila to assist her, so she hadn't forgotten.

"Very good. As I said, a well-behaved girl deserves rewards, doesn't she?" Joel chuckled, his voice carrying both tenderness and a hint of teasing. As Primrose was still trying to decipher his words, she felt Joel's lips press against hers in a swift kiss. Primrose instinctively closed her eyes, experiencing the warmth and sweetness on her lips.

"Why so obedient? Sweetie, you're truly adorable." Joel embraced Primrose, allowing her to rest her head against his chest. His body warmth enveloped her, making her feel incredibly secure. Soft laughter echoed, causing Joel's chest to vibrate gently. Primrose remained in his embrace, savoring the tenderness of the moment.
