Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Henley

I sat in the back of the car and Sandro sat beside me.

Not that I was thinking of running away or something.

I knew about how the gangs go on with their business and knowing

that someone other than Sandro would come for me later if I were to run away was not good at all.

So running away was far from my head.

But I needed a plan.

A plan that would get me out of the mess Tim had gotten himself into.

Sandro was the cause of all this shit.

I would have yelled at him right now and told him how shitty and how stupid he was for getting my brother into this mess but his men were in the front seat of the car.

"You can look all day if you please, Henley, it's not going to change a thing. You and I both know that there is nothing you can change." He said and I glared hard.

"Hmm."

"And you think you can change something?" I asked back, anger was getting the best of me.

"Well for the record. I can." He said, making me clench my fist so hard.

"You caused all this. If you had not included Tim in this shit. He would not have run off to God knows where. He only called me once, my brother is a scared human being." I said and he scoffed, before looking outside.

"You think I don't know that? You think I'm not trying hard?" He turned and glared at me.

"Well.. you're not trying so hard Mr. De'toire. Maybe you'll have to try harder!" I said and he chuckled before looking away.

"We both knew who cause all this Henley, and we both know it's you." He said.

I could feel my anger rising to its peak.

"You cause all this that night." He began, before turning around and glaring at me.

I licked my lips and chuckled.

This was ridiculous. All these were so ridiculous!

"Really? That night? Don't tell me you're still pissed about that night Sandro? Couldn't stand it when I kissed Mason? Oh wow!" I laughed, turning around to see his fuming face.

"Be careful how you talk Henley." He cautioned and I nodded.

"Oh wow, what can I possibly say that would offend the great Sandro De'toire Luciano," I said, looking out the window.

Do you know the one thing I hate so much?

The one thing that I hate and missed so much?

Everything was happening so fast and so funny.

Do you know which was the funniest?

The fact that Sandro was my Ex.

The only guy I had ever loved and dated.

Life was such a good history textbook.

The car came to a halt and I came down and sighed, stretching my body.

A woman in her fifties stood outside as if expecting our return.

"Good day Ma'am."I greeted.

Turning to Sandro that was already going in, I called him to let him know about my things.

"What about my things? I didn't have the time to pick them up in my apartment."

"You call those junks and garbage things? You need recycling." He said and walked away without looking back.

"You son of..."

"Come now, I'll show you to your room." The woman said, giving me a wide smile and I returned it with a feigned one.

"What is your name?" She asked as we began to head up the stairs.

The Mansion was huge, a very huge one which got me wondering whether his father was staying there as well.

Well.. his father hated me to the core.

But I didn't care who liked me or who hated me.

I just wanted to live my normal mundane life and meet people, not be stuck in one place with few people.

People I didn't even know.

"I'm Henley," I said, and she nodded.

"Well, here is your room Henry." She said and I frowned.

What's up with everyone and Henry?

"It's Henley. Hen....ley." I dragged, it as I opened the door and got in.

I locked the door wondering if she was still there.

Although she seemed nice, my father had taught me not to trust new faces.

Behind those masks, they called faces were different characters and people.

I walked to the bed and touched it.

It was so soft and had the manes of a horse.

A knock sounded on the door and I walked to the door.

I opened it to see the very same woman there with a smile.

Was she not tired of smiling?

"Ma'am?"

"Dinner will be served now, go wait down the stairs in the dining room for lunch. Thank you."

"Where can I find the dining room?" I asked.

"Close to the kitchen, near the east wing." She said and I nodded.

"Thank you," I mumbled but she was already gone.

I was already hungry.

The food Sandro had given me the other time was not filled up.

I draped my jacket around my shoulder.

Luckily for me, he had not thrown the jacket I was wearing before the accident.

It felt nice wearing one thing that was bought with my money and not some rich kid that decided to spend on me cause I was on some Omerta list.

I walked out of the room and headed down the stairs.

Going to the dining room, I heard feminine laughter and Sandro's.

It was as if they were telling or listening to something funny cause the laughter sounded joyous.

When I got to the dining room, my eyes widened as I behold what was happening.

There was a girl and she was sitting on Sandro's lap while she was ruffling his hair and they were saying something to each other's ears.

His eyes met mine first and he frowned.

"What are you doing here Henley?" He asked, and I coughed.

"Uhm, the older woman said to come to the dining room," I answered, looking anywhere but at them.

"Haven't you eaten for tonight? Go to your room. You will eat tomorrow morning. The food I gave you at the hospital is enough for today." He said.

Mt jaw dropped and I scoffed turning around and walking away.

Sandro was indeed a jerk, I just didn't know he had become a bigger Jerk!
