Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Henley

"What?!" I yelled, dropping the food I had been eating.

The hunger had seemed to finish as quickly as he said it.

He had signed an Omerta in my name.

Omerta? That didn't sound like an ordinary thing.

"What is that?" A part of me knew that it had to do with the Mafia thing.

My eyes shone as I looked at him, ready to hear the rest of the words.

"What else? Say something!" I yelled, and the watch on my wrist begun to beep loudly.

"I think you should calm down now." He said, raising his right leg to place it on the left one.

"What I mean to say Henley is that, you're not going back to your old life. The Ranch, the apartment, your classes, your yoga lessons... all of it, dies here." He said.

"No!"

"It can never be broken sweetie."

"Don't call me that you dickhead!" I cuss and he nodded again.

"Who asked you to sign the rubbish? I didn't ask you to sign anything on my name. Why the hell did you even come to me that day and...

"It was three days ago."

"I don't fucking care, you made me leave my job to come to tend to you and now you're fucking dragging me into something like this?" I could feel my eyes welling up.

He sighed before raising his hand to pat my head.

"Get that fucking hand away from me!" I yelled but he didn't bulge.

"This was supposed to happen a long time ago Henley when your brother left...I was supposed to take you in for it. But I let you live your life to the fullest, not it's my turn to make sure you suffer for all those times you lived your life and thought you had control over it. I am your controller and although it may seem crude to your ears I'll still say it darling.....From today you are my mistress." He said and let go of my head.

Tears left my eyes.

"Don't cry." He mumbled, cleaning my eyes while more came down.

"Why are you doing this to me? What did I ever do to you?" I asked as he cleaned my eyes as if he weren't the reason I was crying.

"Because for you to survive, hard decisions had to be made Henley...now stop crying, and don't for once make me regret my decision to lose a lot and save you!" He said firmly and stood up.

"We'll be leaving when I come back." He said and walked out of the room.

I stood up and rushed to the bathroom.

My eyes were blurry and my vision was not clear which made it hard for me to get in... I hit my head on the door and winced, crying the more.

This was all my fault.

I had decided to help him when he would not even bat an eyelid for me.

He was so cruel. Sandro was cruel.

Thinking about the Friday nights! My dance classes. The yoga classes I take every Monday with Christine, the ranch, Ryan and Diego. My eyes welled up again and the tears were falling hard again.

I Will never trust that bastard again.

Like they always say; Once bitten, twice shy.

Alessandro

It didn't matter whether she trusted me or not. Henley was a peculiar being.

She would help anyone in pain and that was her weakness.

She could not bear to see anyone in pain and talk more about seeing me in pain.

Once upon a time, she was so deep in for me and I had to use that to my advantage.

Timothy was the name of her brother. Tim for shorts.

He had disobeyed the greatest rule in the Gang.

Never break an Omerta.

He ran away a year ago and ever since as the rules had it.. a family member had to continue what the latter had started.

I had been watching her for the past months, and it was time she gave back the life she thought she had control over.

I was planning to get her between my webs by rendering money cause I knew she needed it but then something drastic happened and she ended up helping me.

I watched the tears fall from her eyes.

What was she crying about?

She had one of the most fucked up life In the world!

Her one-room apartment had leakages and her bumped car had been parked in the Starburns Mechanic Shop for a month now. Her Yoga lesson had stopped thriving and she had no one..well except for her friend on the Ranch.

She was all alone and this was something to redeem her from being alone.

Don't cry." I mumbled, cleaning her eyes while more came down.

"Why are you doing this to me? What did I ever do to you?" She asked as I cleaned her eyes.

"Because for you to survive, hard decisions had to be made Henley...now stop crying, and don't for once make me regret my decision to lose a lot and save you!" I said firmly and stood up.

She didn't know what I had to do to come up with such an Omerta again.

She was supposed to be dead. Ten feet under.

If my father had been back before I made the decision she wouldn't be alive.

"We'll be leaving when I come back," I said and walked out of the room.

I stood by the door, waiting to see if she would want to escape like the other day.

There was no escaping whatsoever.

If she were to escape, sooner or later my father's goons would still chase her down till she was six feet under and someone like Henley would never last long in hiding.

When I heard her little sobs from where I stood, I smiled knowing she had accepted it, although she had no choice I wouldn't want to cuff her to the bed.

Straightening my suit, I walked out to foot the bill.

It was going to be a long night!
