Maxwell's mom called to inform him that Evelyn is awake, he and Sonya rush there. they entered and saw everyone outside.

"The doctors are attending to her right now" Charles informed them and they wait outside. after some minutes, they came out.

"She is fine. there is no complication or anything wrong about, we just need to let her recover quietly" the doctor said and excuse themselves. Maxwell and the rest of them entered to see her but her mom was quick rushing to her side

"thank goodness, you sacred me" she said to her.

"where is my brother?" Evelyn asked instead and Maxwell quickly come to her other side.

"Am the one worried about you and all you care about is your brother?' her mother said not pleased. Evelyn smiled at her.

"How are you feeling now?" Maxwell said and held her hand.

"am great. now that i did something for you, you are indebted to me for your whole life" she said. Maxwell laughed at her words.

"its been a while since you laugh with me like this. maybe i should come here often then"

"don’t you dare" Maxwell said.

"am just joking" she said and laugh. Sonya move forward to her.

"am so sorry, this happened because of me" She said.

"you don’t have to be. its happened because of our family. We should be the one saying that" she replied then she saw loveth at a corner.

"loveth, are you not going to talk to me?" loveth went closer to her.

"i don’t see you as a freelancer or anything like that. you are my best friend" she said.

"i know, i was just being a jerk and ungrateful" loveth also said and hugged her.

"what about dad? why is he not here?" Evelyn asked facing her mother.

"he is receiving treatment outside the country" she answered.

"oh, so who is with him?" she asked again. Both Maxwell and their mother look at each other.

"i was with him at first but then i heard about what happened to my baby so i flew back"

"so you are saying there is no one staying with my dad and the both of you are here, mum you should go back to him there are people who can take care of me here"

"fine, i will. i plan to do that immediately you wake up"

"then start moving. I've been awake for more than an hour now"

"how can you treat me like this? i was so worried about you that i could not sleep but the minute you are awake you want me out" she fumed and stood up.

"am leaving to go meet my husband and am not coming back till after three years" she said and made to leave then she stopped in front of Sonya.

"Sonya dear, what happened to your neck? did you get injured there?" she asked and made to touch her neck. Sonya quickly move out of her reach.

"it nothing, just a little scratch" she said and tried covering it.

She rush out when she was coming and forgot to cover her neck, it's full of marks Maxwell left last night.

"were the both of you having a sweet time while i was battling for my life?' Evelyn asked in disbelieve.

"all of you outside" she suddenly said.

"you also want to have your own sweet time, its fine" Maxwell said and pull Sonya out with him then the rest of them also left. leaving her with just Charles who has kept quiet in the room so far.

“why are you standing there?” she asked abd Charles walk over to her slowly.

“were you so sacred that you don’t know what to say?” she said jokingly. Charles bent down and hugged her, She hug him back and pat his back.

“am fine” she said and notice that he is crying. She pull him back and check to confirm.

“why are you crying?”

“don’t ever do what you did again. What if the gun had hit you somewhere more dangerous?” Evelyn smiled and hug him again.

“seeing that you are this worried, am really happy. Maybe I should let stuff like this to happen so you can..”

“don’t even dare” he said sternly and they laugh together.

"Are you sure your mom's feelings are not hurt by Evelyn's word. Sonya asked when as they walk

"Not at all and am sure she did not stay awake overnight. There is nothing that hurt her except not getting the brands that she wants"

"So where are we going?" Sonya asked Maxwell when they got outside.

"Back home. you are still injured and need to rest and not stress too much. also your mom and sister must be waiting for us" he replied.

Sonya smiled feeling uncomfortable after hearing about her mum, she escaped to go on a vacation and since she came back, she keep avoiding the topic.

....Sonya and Maxwell get back and sure enough, Sofia and her daughter Emma was waiting for them. when they saw Sonya enter with Maxwell they both stood up from their seat.

"There is no need for that please sit" Maxwell said and they also sat down.

"Sonya, i came to see you for the last time before i go back" Sofia begin.

"Wait a minute, go to where?" she asked surprised

"Since am free from Elliot and most of his properties has been seized so i decide to return back to country Z with Zac and his sister" she explained.

"but before i go, your sister and i wants to see you and also ask for your forgiveness" she said.

This was totally different from what Sonya thought will happen, she had thought that when she see her again she will shout at her and send her away.

"although am still angry at the fact that you left me to die but still you are my mother and there is nothing i will gain from not forgiving you, i forgive you" she said and hugged her. Emma also join the two of them.

"So what do you plan to do when you go back?" she asked.

"I bought the house we live in back then a long time ago and also Mr Hart has given us enough money" she answered.

"So when do you plan on leaving? next month?" she asked.

"We are leaving by the earliest flight tomorrow" Emma answered. Sonya nod her head slowly.

Why don’t you stay here with Sonya till time for your flight?" Maxwell suggested.

"Really? i love the idea. i can get to talk with my sister what I've always wanted to share with my sister if i have one" Emma said happily and went over to Sonya's side.

Sonya smiled allowing her, they just told her that she is her step sister and she believed it without asking more information

"Why don’t you enjoy with your family, i have something urgent to attend to" Maxwell told and left.Maxwell arrive at the airport and look around for the person he came to meet before he saw him from afar and walked towards him. Simon saw Maxwell and also walk up to him.

"Mr Hart, why are you here?" he asked sardonically

"why do you think?" he replied calmly.

"Mr Hart, don’t you think what you are doing is childish? do you acquire my company just so you could transfer me back to country Z?" he asked accusingly.

"yes i did"

"why? are you feeling insecure?"

"Am not but i don’t take any risk and also am here personally because i know you don’t plan on leaving and you are trying to reapply to stay here but that is not going to work and also stop stressing yourself by calling her number because your call won't go through. whatever you want to say text it to her and sge will read it right after you leave. also..." he said and Tom appeared.

"he is going to send you back and make sure you land in country Z and also another information for you, you wont be able to step in this country till i say so" he added and walk away. Simon was greatly annoyed and without option he followed Tom.

....after talking for a long while, the maid finish cooking dinner for all of them but Maxwell was not back yet and they decide to wait for him before eating.

"Just in case you might need this. it is the last picture of your father" Sofia said as she hand over a photo to her. Sonya took it from her hand and check the picture, she has no memory of him at all.

"Thank you mom" she said and place it on the table in her room.

"When is your boyfriend coming back? why don’t you call him?" Emma suggested.

"maybe he is busy with work, he will soon get here" she said and pick her phone to call him then she saw a message on her phone from Simon. She opened it to read.

"Sonya, am on my way back to country Z. my company suddenly transfer me back for urgent work, also when i arrive i will keep in touch with you and will be back in about a year. Till then take care of yourself and also make sure you are always happy with Mr Hart, if possible i might be available to come for a visit when you finish your studies. You don’t have to come to the airport to check am already in a plane" she read.

"why would his company send him back all of a sudden? he told me before that he was transferred here for the period of two years" she thought and quickly dial his number but it was unreachable. she tried again a couple of times before she text him to call her immediately he gets off the plane then she dialed Maxwell's number but he cuts the call. she heard him walk in and excuse herself from both Emma and Sofia. they later settle down for dinner together before Emma and Sofia also left for the airport and travelled back to country Z.

[after a year]

Micheal entered the cafe to meet with Maxwell but he was not there yet. he sat down at a far end to wait for him and order a cup of coffee as he wait. after few minutes, Maxwell entered and went to meet him at his table. He sat down and also order the same thing as him.

"I thought you wont be coming again" Micheal said as he sip on his coffee.

"I had to do something important at the last minute. How come you have a free time i thought you would be with your wife and daughter" he said.

"don’t even talk about that. Ever since Amy gave birth it just like i don’t exist anymore. everyone is busy taking care of the baby and no one pays attention to me" he replied bitterly.

"what about Joyce? i heard she is back in the country again"

"she just came back to see her niece and she just got this guy she is going out with so she went back already. Lets leave that, why do you want to see me"

"But why the long face?you don’t look too happy" he said again.

"how is your relationship with Amy?"

"Very good why? how is your wedding preparation going?"

"I don’t know. ever since she start to head one of the substitute companies. she is always busy and doesn't spent time with me like before. also as a lady she should be excited and eager about the wedding preparations but she is not and she wants a low key wedding and also thinks that we should spent a little amount of money for the wedding. I mean every girl wants to wear the most expensive and beautiful wedding dress but do you know what she wants? she wants to just pick a random wedding dress"

"i believe you are just anxious for nothing, this is all in your head no woman will not be excited or eager about her own wedding"

"you don’t just understand. it seems like she is not excited at all about the wedding preparations. she is always busy. i feel like am the only one eager to marry her"

"you are thinking too much. i know Sonya well and she is very excited about getting married. if you don’t believe me i will call Amy and show you"

"that's not necessary. but am going to make sure that she change her mind on this" "how are you going to do that? Amy is on leave and you haven't hired another assistant yet. you are not going to leave the company to please a woman are you?"

"that's exactly what am going to do and inform Amy to come back to work soon"

"are you serious? why don’t you just hire someone else. she is married and with a child" Maxwell shrugged and sip on his drink not caring.

"when is your parent coming back?" he asked after a while.

"next weekend"
