CHAPTER 06

“ Dad, no!!” Hudson yelled as the portal closed up.

“ Why the fuck did you close up the portal” He yelled at Paisley, ready to strangle her.

“ Calm down Hudson” Leriel said, holding him back.

“ Am not at fault, Hudson, I couldn’t hold up the portal much longer because the building was collapsing, interrupting my focus” Paisley tried explaining.

“ You should have tried holding it much longer” Hudson yelled.

“ For Christ sake, Paisley is not at fault, try to calm down” John half yelled.

“ Don’t tell me to calm down” Hudson snapped angrily.

“ This will make it the second time my dad is being shot and he’s left all alone with the Sentinels and you’re telling me to calm down, how do you expect me to do that?” He yelled, trying to fight back his tears.

“ What if the Sentinels took him, then what?”

“ Hudson” Alvara called calmly. Hudson shot her a deadly glare but his anger vanished when Alvara flashed him a reassuring smile.

“ Calm down. Even if the Sentinels have your dad, they won’t do anything to him” Alvara said.

“ But….

“ I know you have every right to be angry but everyone here is also worried about your dad. Now instead of getting all enraged, how about we look for a way to rescue him” Alvara said and Hudson exhaled deeply, running his hand through his hair. Alvara let go of his wrist.

“ How about you both go freshen up upstairs, relax, then come down so we can all discuss on how to rescue your dad” John said and Hudson nodded.

“ Paisley” John called.

“ Sure” Paisley replied already understanding what he wanted to say.

“Let’s go” She said, leading the way and the two trailed along. All eyes were on them as the headed upstairs. Different type of people were staring at them, both those who look normal and those whose face is enough to make a baby start convulsing.

Alvara hummed as they climb the stairs, looking around.

“ This underground doesn’t look that bad anyway” She muttered.

They finally got upstairs , to a room.

“ This is your room, both of you have to share” Paisley announced as they stepped in.

“ Hmm, not bad” Alvara said while Hudson wasn’t even interested. His mind was still on his dad.

“ Right now Paisley, I have tones of questions in my mind that I have to let it roll” Alvara said and Paisley turned, facing her.

“ Really Alvara?” Paisley asked with folded arms.

“ Yep. Starting from, how come you know my name? How did you and your boyfriend locate us? How were you able to create that portal and why are your pupils not visible…..

“ Calm down, one question at a time” Paisley said.

“ Ok. First, how come you know my name?” Alvara asked.

“ Leriel told us about you and Hudson” Paisley replied.

“ Second question; How did you and your boyfriend locate us?”

“ First of all, John is not my boyfriend and as for your question; John was able to sense your location” Paisley replied.

“ Is that his mutant power?” Alvara asked and Paisley nodded.

“ He posses Superhuman strength, Super durability ( inability to get injured), Super speed, Superhuman reflexes, Superhuman senses/ tracking skills and foresight” Paisley listed and Alvara’s mouth hung open.

“ Wait a minute, is he Thunderbird?” Hudson asked.

“ Yep, that’s him” Paisley replied.

“ Wow! He seems amazing. He must an Omega mutant, right?” Alvara asked.

“ No, he’s an Alpha mutant” Hudson replied.

“ Wow, he seems pretty powerful to me” Alvara exclaimed.

“ Well the last question; how did you create that portal?” She asked.

“ That’s my powers; Teleportation through Portal creation, how can I explain how it happens?” Paisley asked with a chuckle, nodding sideways at Alvara’s stupid question.

“ Then why do you look weird and SCARY” Alvara asked, stressing the last word.

“ That’s how I am” Paisley replied.

“ Then you must be Blink, right?” Hudson asked and Paisley nodded.

“ What level of mutant are you?” Alvara asked.

“ Gamma level, Alvara, jeez you ask a lot of questions” Hudson groaned, making Alvara hiss.

“ Well sorry, unlike you I’m not familiar with all these mutant stuff so I’ve got to ask questions” She glared.

“ Ok enough you two” Paisley cut them off.

“ Both of you should freshen up, I’ll send Mila to get you something to eat” She added before heading out.

“ I think I like her already, especially her dress code; ' the tomboy code’” Alvara winked with a smirk. She turned but didn’t see Hudson.

“ Where did he go?......

AT THE SENTINEL

Bernard was dragged to the interrogation room. He was bounded with a leash made of strong metal around his neck and strong leather which was bounding his hands and legs together. He was forced to sit and the figure backing him turned, a devilish smirk on his face.

“ Well it’s a good thing you came to the Sentinel once again, Bernard, welcome” He said.

“ What do you want?” Ben asked, his body undeniably calm.

“ It’s a good thing you asked but I presume you already know what I want” He smirked.

“ Listen, Lucan, you’re obviously just kicking the can down the road. If you’re expecting me to reveal the mutants hideout, then forget it” Ben said.

Lucan pressed the remote he was holding and electricity ran through Ben who was now vibrating vigorously.

“ What about now, will you open up?” Lucan asked and Ben whose eyes were already getting heavy managed to glare at him.

“ You’re wasting your time Lucan, I….

Lucan interrupted him , sending another electricity through him.

“ You’re getting on my hoot spa, Bernard” He said.

A weak smile formed on Ben’s lips indicating he wasn’t giving in. Lucan groaned angrily, sending a hard slap across his face.

“ What has gotten into you, Bernard, why did you suddenly change, huh? You hated mutants with everything in you, you even fought against them. You couldn’t stand their presence so what happened, why the sudden change?” Lucan yelled at him.

“ And that was the worst mistake of my life; fighting the mutants” Ben replied.

“ And what about your wife? Don’t you want to get justice for her death? She was killed by a mutant you know that” Lucan said and Ben glared angrily at him, his anger boiling.

“ If I want justice for my wife, then I’ll start with the Sentinels because everything that happened that day was all your fault, Lucan, your fault” Ben growled angrily at Lucan, who sent him another slap, making Ben scoff painfully.

“ You and I knew what happened that day,6 years ago. The mutants were having a peaceful protest but you, you ordered all the Sentinels cops to kill all of them. Many people were killed that day and the mutants were trying to save their lives but now…

“ You automatically turned the whole world against them and even I fell for the lie. You made people view mutants as monsters whereas the real monsters are the Sentinels, you especially”

“ You capture mutants all in the name of protecting America, whereas you use them for your own selfish gain. You imprison them and turned them to slaves so they can serve you. Seriously Lucan, I’m disappointed in you”

“ But don’t remind me of the fact that it was actually you who shot my wife or else I swear I’ll rip you apart right this minute” Ben growled, vibrating in anger.

“ No, no, Bernard, no. I shot a mutant and using her powers, she shifted the bullet to your wife and she was killed by it. So I didn’t kill her, Luna did” Lucan said not feeling a sting of remorse.

“ Fuck you Lucan, fuck you. God save you, when I leave this place, I’ll tear you to pieces and feed you to the birds, I swear” Ben cursed.

“ Seriously? Well just to inform you Ben, I ain’t scared of your threat. And about leaving this place…. Forget it” Lucan snorted.

“ Besides, who will save you from this place…...... .your son? How will he feel when he finds out who you truly are? Wait, I know…..

“ He’ll hate you for life” Lucan snapped and Ben clinched his fist, vibrating in anger.

“ Matteo!” Lucan yelled and Matteo rushed in immediately.

“ Take this shit out of here” Lucan commanded and Matteo nodded, dragging Bernard out.

Opening a cell, he pushed him inside, locking it up.

“ You know, it’s so good finally seeing you behind bars, Bernard” Matteo grinned and left. Ben slammed his hand on the bars of the cell.

“ No need getting all angry, Ben, won’t change a thing” A voice said, startling Ben, who turned to the direction where the voice came from.

Sitting on the floor of the cell was an attractive young lady with a pale skin, hazel eyes, possessing a shoulder length green hair dyed black, making it appear like she has a dark hair with green highlights.

Ben was shocked to see her bounded with an Inhibitor Collar around her neck.

“ Luna..” Ben called in shock.

“ Finally we met again Ben” Luna said with a visible angry smirk plastered on her face. With how she was glaring angrily at Ben, one would understand they were not in good terms.

“ You won’t mind explaining what my lovely prosecutor is possibly doing in the same cell with me, oh and also bounded in a leash” Luna mocked and Ben sighed sadly.

“ Listen Luna…..

“ Polaris” She corrected immediately.

“ You’re sending me to hell, so call me Polaris. You don’t have the right to call me by my birth name” She added.

“ Ok, Polaris, I’m really sorry for what I did, I’m really sorry” Ben said.

“ You’re sorry? Wait, you’re seriously sorry?” Polaris scoffed angrily. Her eyes turned flaky green immediately as she slowly stood on her feet. Ben stepped back a bit as he gulped in fear

Widening her palm, a green flame emitted from the fringes of her finger. She was ready to attack soon, ready to rip Ben apart in no time. She was boiling in anger and rage.

“ Polaris…please…hear….me.. out” Ben shuttered in fear.

“ Don’t tell me that!” She growled in anger. But just then, the inhibitor collar around her neck activated, sending wild electricity through her, making her return back to normal and the flame from her finger vanished.

She slumped weakly to the floor immediately.

“ Polaris!!………….
