CHAPTER 48

SOMEWHERE UNKNOWN

Selena appeared out of no where and slumped to the floor. Looking at herself,

" I'm alive... I'm alive!" She exclaimed happily, standing up. Looking around she recognized where she was immediately.

" I'm in the Underworld, I made it!" An evil laughter left her lips immediately.

" Those fools thought they finally destroyed me but they forgot how powerful I am. Now I made to the Underworld all I have to do is look a soul to eat to be able to come back on earth...

" I made a promise to destroy you Hudson and Alvara and that is exactly what I'm going to do. You both better be ready for me cause I'm coming back to take what rightly belong to me...

But something caught her by surprise. When she tried taking a step forward, she realized the couldn't move her legs. She tried raising her hands up but realized that she also couldn't move them

" What is this?" She frowned deeply. She decided to use her power to lift herself but couldn't even feel them. That was when something drawn to her; she has been caged. She was still trying to fathom what was going on when she heard a strange based voice from nowhere.

" What ever rises up in a flash shall fall with a crash on the ground, no matter how powerful one may be" The voice thundered. Selena recognized the voice immediately. She tried once again to move and surprisingly she did. She tried using her power but it was as if it bounced back to her.

" No! I've been caged with the invisible force, circulating around me. I can't move no matter what " She trembled.

" Selena..." The voice called.

" You went too far, out of your way...out of humanity just to acquire what was never yours. You tried becoming immortal by yourself, something only the god's give to whom ever they find worthy. You were given so many second chances to repent. Aww can..but you never did...

" Because of that, you have been trapped in this invisible force field for all eternity, unless an inevitable power or force says the word to set you free" The voice said.

" I hope you shall learn your lesson and mend your ways here to never come out " After, totally silence engulfed everywhere.

" No. This can't be, it's not possible" Selena lamented, nodding negatively.

" I am Selena Galileo, the strongest, most powerful mutant from the hybrid-age. I have survived countless attacks, rose up and fought back and has always won and yes...I will still win this time...

" I will get out of here and make sure I kill everyone, everything who comes in my way of becoming immortal. I will destroy you all!!" She shouted, trying to break free but all to no avail. She slumped to the ground and broke down in tears. She has to agree that this time around...she failed.

AT THE UNDERGROUND

All the mutants gathered together on last time to celebrate their freedom. One could see their joyous faces, hear them happily chitchatting and laughing.

Blind sat outside, staring into space. Tears of happiness escaped her eyes and she smiled.

" We did it Dad. We accomplished your one true dream and saved the world. I know, that wherever you are now, you must be happy and proud of your daughters" She muttered.

" Yes sis. Dad must be jumping happily, shouting to everyone that her two daughters are a blessing" A voice said and Blink turned only to see Autumn walking up to her.

" And I am blessed to have the best sister in the world, who is brave, smart and of course caring" She added and Blink pulled her to a hug. They both pulled out.

" Where did you learn to be a sweet talker, huh?" Blink teased.

" And yep, of course, least I forget...she is frank to the core" Autumn rolled her eyes and both laughed.

" And what about me? Can't I join in this happy reunion?" A voice asked and they both turned to see John.

" Of course you can. So far you bring us something tangible to eat, I'm hungry" Blink replied.

" Well, I didn't bring anything, so?" John said walking over.

" Then you're not welcomed" Blink hissed making John pout.

" Really?"

" Don't mind her John. Of course you can join us" Autumn replied.

" See. That's why she's my favorite" John huffed.

" Then maybe, the both of you can be a couple then" Blink scoffed faking anger and they all bursted to laughter.

Inside the Underground, Polaris can seen rubbing her belly bump, a smile on her face.

" I fulfilled the promise I made to you Aurora. Momma did it" She sniffed as tears of happiness escaped her eyes.

" Yeah, we did it... together" Leriel said, hugging her from behind. He placed a deep kiss on her neck.

" Of course. Our baby must be kicking and leaping happily screaming " Daddy I love you, you're the best" Polaris chuckled and surprisingly, she felt a kick on her stomach.

" Oh my God" She exclaimed making Leriel pull out.

" Luna are you ok?" He asked worriedly.

" Our baby just kicked Leriel, I felt it" Polaris exclaimed.

" Really?" She nodded happily making Leriel hug her again.

" She heard what you said, that's why she kicked" He chuckled.

" Aurora must be very happy" Polaris said making Leriel pull out.

" Aurora?" He raised a brow at her.

" Yes. I decided to name her that to symbolize our never ending love" Polaris explained.

" Well, I love the name then" Leriel smiled. His eyes drifted to her lips and he claimed them immediately. Polaris wrapped her hands around his neck, kissing him back. The kiss was a gentle and sweet one and they both were already lost in it.

THE NEXT DAY

Alvara woke up from sleep, feeling extremely excited. Thought of yesterday's celebration was giving her joy. She climbed down from her bed, heading to the bathroom as she hummed a song happily. She came out after taking a bath and dressed up in her usual baggy clothes.

A door bell came and Emily headed to answer it.

" Good morning Mrs Emily" Hudson greeted with a smile.

" Good morning to you too Hudson, how are you doing?" She smiled back.

" I'm doing great and you?" Hudson asked back.

" I am fine as you can see" Emily replied and Hudson nodded a hum.

" I'm here to see Alvara" Hudson said.

" Sure, come on in" Emily ushered him in and Hudson complied. Alvara headed downstairs for breakfast.

" Good morning Mom" She greeted.

" Good morning sweetie, how was your night?" Emily asked making Alvara groan.

" It was ok but mom!" She groaned.

" First it was baby and now sweetie?" She pouted.

" Of course you're my baby and sweetie" Emily chuckled.

" My name is Alvara Mom, you named me that. You know I hate it when you call me baby and sweetie...not an option" She rolled her eyes.

" Good morning sweetie" A voice greeted making Alvara turn.

" Oh, Hudson. What are you doing here and this early morning?" She asked, surprised. Hudson stood up and walked up to her.

" Well, something have been bothering me lately so I decided to come tell you about it" Hudson answered.

" Ok, I thought we made it clear earlier. I already told you I love you and yes, I agree to be your girlfriend, so what else do you want?" Alvara snapped making Hudson look away as his cheeks flushed.

" Erhhh...erm.I'm still here" Emily let out a slight cough.

" Well even though that wasn't why I came here but I'm happy to hear that from you" Hudson shrugged.

" But that isn't why I'm here. What I came here for has to do with the Brotherhood" Hudson added and Alvara's mood changed.

" What is it you want to discuss Hudson?" Emily asked, walking over to them.

" Well since we all know what happened to the Brotherhood. I was thinking; what if this isn't the end of the Brotherhood yet?..." Hudson began.

" Since we can't bring them back, how about we form a new Brotherhood to keep it going so the memories of your dad and that of the rest of the members of the Brotherhood won't be forgotten" Hudson suggested with eagerness in his eyes.

" I don't quite get you Hudson" Emily frankly said, giving Hudson a confused look. Alvara was just quiet and mute the whole time as if she was lost in a deep thoughts

" Think about it Alvara. Remember the cave we visited and saw the 7 statues of the Brotherhood? We could form a new Brotherhood and keep it going and not just leave it abandoned" Hudson explained hoping Alvara would get his point. Emily understood what Hudson was saying just then.

" What do you think Alvara?" She asked snapping Alvara out of her thoughts.

" Thinking of it... that's amazing idea Hudson. How come we never thought of it earlier?" She replied making Hudson beam.

" Have you told you Dad and the others in the Underground about it?" She asked.

" Not yet. I wanted to tell you first to know what you think" Hudson answered.

" Well, I don't know if the rest will agree" Emily said.

" I am sure Blink will agree. Her Dad was also a member of the Brotherhood and of course, I agree. Hudson's dad will agree for sure. We just have to ask Polaris, Leriel and John to know what they think" Alvara pointed out and Hudson nodded in agreement.

" Ok. Let's finish breakfast first then we can head back to the Underground and discuss with the rest" Emily agreed too but she was abruptly interrupted by the door bell making all of them turn...
