CHAPTER 31

The Freaks, especially the Star girls were shocked, except the Principal who clearly didn't understood what was going on.

'How can a girl lie so much like a grown up?' Sophia thought as she stared at Bonnie with heavy heart. The voice of the Principal brought her back to earth.

"You see? The child doesn't even know the meaning of that word. Why are you always creating a scene huh?" The principal scolded her.

"Sir please you have to believe me, this kid is lying...

"Can you just hear yourself? Mr. Bennett, how old is your kid sis?" The principal asked.

"She just clocked 9 three days ago" Alex said.

"Ok, I'm really sorry for the inconveniences, you may go now. And as for you Miss Woods, you're gonna serve detention for two more weeks" the principal said.

"Again? Well wait till I tell my mom about this!" Sophia said as the Freaks walked out of the office, leaving the both of them to sort out themselves.

"Bonnie that was close!" Laura said grabbing her hands as they heard the warning bell, making them rush to the class.

"I'm gonna seat with Peter" she said as they went to the class and settled down. The students started glancing at Bonnie, knowing fully well she's the kid that savaged Sophia.

"Isn't that Bonnie?" A boy asked.

"Sophia's worse nightmare!" A girl said as she giggled.

"I heard that!' Sophia said walking inside the class and gave them a horrid look.

"So what if you do huh? You want me to call that little kid for you?" Agnes said as the class cheered.

"Whoa!!!" The class muttered as Sophia felt like flaring up.

"Keep it down Sophie, we'll get back at them, one after the other" Thelma said claiming her down as Mr. Alaric walked to the class.

The class remained silent as he walked to the board. They greeted him which he didn't respond to. He went to the White board and wrote REVISION ON ANCIENT PERIOD OF PHILOSOPHY

After which, he walked to his desk and sat down.

"Who might wanna help us with that? We did that last week Friday so it would be easy for you all, I just want you guys to remind us of some of the major characters of that era" Mr. Alaric said as he rubbed his face with his palm. He seemed tired.

"Anyone?!' He yelled getting frustrated already.

"Can I give it a try sir?" Bonnie said with her tiny voice as the class giggled.

"Did I hear someone talk?" The teacher asked as Peter tried to shut Bonnie.

"Keep it down will you? This ain't your elementary school" he said to her as she shrugged.

"But I do know about this stuff. I read a lot about the Greek philosophers so I can give it a try" she protested as Mr. Alaric walked up to them and stood at their front.

"Were you saying something Mr. Parker?" He asked as Peter raised his head to meet his gaze.

"And what's this little kid doing here?" The teacher asked perplexed.

Alex never wanted to get involved because he told them Bonnie would only create trouble but they insisted she stayed. Well, they have to face the consequence.

"She's ehh, she's my baby sister " Peter lied.

"Well what's your baby sister doing here? Does this look like an elementary school or a baby sitting home?" Mr. Alaric barked at them.

"Sorry sir, her babysitter couldn't pick her up because of some reasons and my parents are at work. I can't just allow her go home alone because of the homicides lately. No where is safe now" Peter lied further. Mr. Alaric gave him a look and thought of what he said deeply. The class stared curiously at them, waiting for the outcome as Mr. Alaric finally spoke.

"Hmm, ok then, just make sure she doesn't disturb my class" Mr. Alaric said and started walking back to the board.

"Sure sir" Peter said and gave Bonnie a look that explains *better keep it cool* and Bonnie got the message as she swallowed hard.

"Narrow escape" Alex muttered to himself as he glanced back then his gaze fell on Sarah who has started drawing again.

"So as I was saying guys. I talked about the ancient period of philosophy and I'm asking one of you to give it a try but it seems... "

"I wanna give it a try sire" Bonnie said again as Peter tried to gag her mouth.

The whole class giggled again as Mr. Alaric breathed down.

"It's that kid again right?" He asked rhetorical.

"She wanna give a try and y'all laughing?" He asked as the giggling died down.

"Ok kid what do you have to say?" Mr. Alaric asked as Bonnie smiled. She stood up but half the class couldn't see her because she was too short including Mr. Alaric.

The class started laughing again as the teacher shun them.

"Come to the board please" Mr. Alaric said as Bonnie walked to the board.

"This is gonna be so embarrassing" Alex said bowing his head on the desk so he wouldn't watch how his kid sister would disgrace herself.

He was happy at least, no one knows she's his sister, Peter already told them Bonnie is his kid sis, well, that would save him from too much humiliation.

"Sorry Peter, rest in peace Bonnie" Alex muttered to himself.

"So what do you have to tell us young lady?" Mr. Alaric asked her.

As she was about talking, the students brought out their books to check if what she was about saying would be right. But actually, they expected her to sing a nursery rhyme.

" Hope she's not gonna sing a poem?" A boy said as the class laughed.

"Shut up Ryan!" Mr. Alaric scolded.

" The ancient era of philosophy was associated with these main sophits which are the likes of Xenaphanes, Parmenides Zeno, the Pythagoras, the atomists, Empedocles, Anaxagoras and his sophists" she said with a smile.

"Oh my God" Elena said as she glanced at Alex who was more bewildered than she was.

"Please how old are you?" Mr. Alaric asked not believing his ears.

"I'm 9" she said.

"What's your name?" He further interrogated.

"Bonnie, Bonnie Bennett" she said as Alex bowed his head.

"She just blew my cover" Alex muttered to himself.

"Mr. Bennett?' Mr. Alaric asked walking up to him as he raised up his face.

"How old is she?" He asked.

"She just told you. She's 9" Alex said breathing hardly.

"Well, why don't you ask her to teach you some history huh? At least it would remove some F's in your grades" Mr. Alaric mocked as the class laughed.

"When I ask who brought her here, you refused revealing she's your sis? Well you don't know what you have and don't value, you may loose it" he further stated

"A round of applause for this young lady!" Mr. Alaric ordered as the class clapped except the Star girls.

"Bonnie?" Mr. Alaric said walking up to her.

"Can we be friends?" He said offering her a handshake as he squat to meet up with her height.

"Yh, sure. It would be my pleasure sir" Bonnie said as they shook hands then he carried her up.

School was over that day and Bonnie was already popular, she made friends and enemies in just few hours she spent in Mystic Hollow High school.

The Freaks walked outside the school building as they waited for Peter who was still doing something inside.

"So do you mind telling us how you knew the answer to that?" Elena asked Bonnie who sighed.

"I just love reading" Bonnie said.

"If you love reading why can't you beat Rose in grades and come out first huh?" Alex said sarcastically.

"Well.. I don't know. Maybe those stuff we learn doesn't interest me" she said with a shrug as Peter walked towards them.

"Tell us the truth we ain't gonna spill" Laura said squatting beside her.

"What truth?" Bonnie asked perplexed.

"What are you?" Alex asked as Peter interrupted them.

"Hey guys, what's going on here?' Peter asked as he walked up to them.

They glanced up at him and saw Sarah walking towards them with tears on her cheeks.

"Hey guys, it's Sarah" Elena said as they walked up to her before she could get to them.

"Sarah what is it?' Elena asked making sure she doesn't touch her since she don't like it.

Sarah kept crying as The Freaks panicked.

"Wait guys, I got this" Bonnie said as she walked up to Sarah.

Quid ad rem?" Bonnie asked Sarah in Latin as she showed her a drawing she drew

Bonnie took the drawing and stared at it as The Freaks squatted beside her.

"What did she say?' Elena asked Bonnie.

"It's this drawing" she said looking at the drawing of a crescent with two butterflies around it.

"That's a cresecent and two butterflies, well how are we supposed to know what that means?" Alex asked.

"Well it only means one thing, there would be a killing sooner or later but the killer hasn't decide who to kill. That's just a symbol of.. "

"I saw this symbol today at the mall when I went to get Bonnie the chocolate candies she asked me to get " Peter said interrupting Elena from completing her speech.

"The mall! That's where the next homicide would occur" Laura said devastated.

"But we don't know who is to be killed yet, how are we gonna stop the homicide?' Peter stated.

"That's for we to find out. Who wanna go shopping at the mall?" Elena asked with a smile curled round her lips.
