"Whoa whoa whoa! I mean no harm beauty. You can keep the gun down" Edward said raising his hands up signifying total surrender. He stylishly looked round the Grill but no one was paying attention to them.

"Yh sure, I know, just saying" Elena said smiling as she put the gun back in her pocket and stared into his dark blue eyes.

"Pretty" Elena muttered referring to how cute his eyes were.

"Did you say something?" He asked as he dropped his glass of liquor on the table and clasped his hands against each other.

"Ehh, I said I'd be going back pretty early. I have a late night curfew" Elena said as he nodded.

"Ok sure. By what time would you be going?" He asked .

"By 4. I have lots of things doing other than seating out here at the Grill with you" Elena said as she smiled. She took the other glass of liquor and wanted to sip as she stopped.

(Drink but don't get drunk. You don't want to be vulnerable for taking advantage of, on your first date with him huh?* Giggles) Bonnie's words played in her head.

(Hmm, I like her already. She's not a flirt and she's a tough one too. Kinda my type of girl) Edward thought.

"Ahh, I wanna thank you for the other day. At the mayor's" she said as a smile curled round his lips.

"You're welcome" he said and glanced round the Grill, looking at some girls firtling around.

"Can I ask you a question?" He asked as she nodded.

"Ehh, what were you doing at the Mayor's mansion? And why were you in a hurry the other day?" He asked sipping from his glass in a gentle manly manner.

"His daughter. Sarah Bellos is my classmate and we were given a project to work on together... "

"Ahh, the dump girl" Edward muttered to his hearing alone while nodding.

"And me being in a hurry the other day, is confidential" she said as he smiled.

"Indeed" he said and stared at her cute innocent yet fierce face.

"So... Your ex.... "

"I don't wanna talk about him. He's in my past now" she said smiling.

"Ah. Em.. Ok.. Ok sure" he said nodding his head.

Ruth sat on an armchair in the living room, with papers and documents piled and scattered on the table, she stretched her legs on. She sure could use a drink because she seemed tired and plastered.

The words Elena told her the other day played in her head as she stood up from her sitting position.

Walking to the mini cabinet, she took a bottle of liqueur and a glass cup and walked back to the chair.

She poured herself a drink and gulped down it's whole content. She squeeze her face because of it's strong savor and dropped the glass on the table as she poured herself another drink and hiccuped.

She looked wretched and her eyes were black and sore from insomnia, over thinking and restlessness.

A sound of the door crack was heard as Elena walked inside the house.

She immediately took off her uncomfortable booth and tied her hair in a bun. She held the booth as she walked to her mom who was staring into empty space.

"Where are you coming from?" Ruth asked her immediately she saw her.

"The Grill" she said curtly.

"Are you still mad at me?" Her mom asked as she shook her head sideways.

"You shouldn't be taking these. You look haggard already. It's not your fault you haven't been able to find solution to these nonsense and you ain't gonna kill yourself at the process. Please live for me. You're all I've got left" Elena said and sniffed as her mom smiled at her with her pale blue eyes.

A tears slipped down Elena's eyes as she stared at how wretched her mom looks now. She swore under her breathe to help her mom bring this damn killer to book.

Ruth rested her head on the armchair as she shot her eyes, dozing off, probably the effect of the liqueur working on her.

Elena was still lost in thought when her mom's phone started ringing seeing it was Fredrick Bellos, she just stared at the phone.

It ringed twice before She took the phone to the kitchen as she pressed the receive button.

##You've derived pleasure in ignoring my calls huh? What are you doing at home? I dropped by at the office and was told you left. You should be working your ass out at your damn office not lazying about!" Bellos said in a breathe as Elena got furious.

##Hello? Are you there?" He asked when the receiver didn't respond.

## its your choice if you wanna stay mute or not. All I'm going to tell you is that we need to talk! That curfew bill you sent to the council? It's not going to be passed. You've passed the boundary Ruth! You'll pay for this!" Bellos shouted and ended the call.

"Whoa! The man is such a talker. I wonder why Sarah can't talk!" She muttered to herself as she went back to the living room to return the phone.

Her mom was still sleeping on the couch as she took off her jacket in order to cover her with it. But unfortunately the gun fell down.

Her mom blinked her eyes as she yawned.

"Mom, I think you should go to bed now, you're burning up" Elena told her mom who stood up and stretched as she slowly walk to her room.

"That was close" Elena muttered to herself as she bent down, picking up the gun, she walked straight to her mom's restricted room to drop the gun back.

She walked back to her room and took off her trousers revealing just her panties.

She sat on her bed as she recalled what happened at the Grill.

(Was following Bonnie's idea the right thing to do? What if I just turned him off. Will he still ask me out for another date? Did I just ruin my chance of having another boyfriend) these thoughts played in her head as she stared into space.

Edward got home and he couldn't get Elena off his head as he kept thinking about her.

"What kind of a girl is that?" He said out loud dropping his helmet on the sofa.

"Definitely a girl you don't wanna mess with" Laura who was seeing a movie said as she paused the TV.

She stood up from the sofa she was sitting on and walked to the front of Edward who was scratching his hair now.

"What do you want from her huh? You're not planning to take advantage of her right? You can do all you wanna do to other girls but not to Elena. She's my friend and she has a good heart! If you dare--"

"Relax.. Relax" Edward blurted out loud but calmly as he sat down on the sofa still lost in thought.

"It's not a matter of Relaxing, Elena is presently in a state of trauma because her boyfriend ––"

"I doubt that! Then I guess you don't know who your friend is. She's doesn't seem as feeble as you think" Edward said as he gave Laura a horrid look.

"What do you mean by that?" She asked sitting next to him.

"She came to the date with a gun" Edward said as Laura was confused at first.

"That's crazy!" She muttered as she remembered Bonnie giving Elena relationship advice and she couldn't help it but started laughing which Edward found awkward.

"Will Peter be walking us to school today?" Bonnie asked as she and Alex hiked to school.

"Nope, I doubt that. He'll be late to school today because of his arm" Alex said as she frowned knowing it was because of her he was in such pains.

They walked past the mall as she stared inside. Seeing the drawing of a pentagram at the doorpost, she shrugged as Alex dragged her.

"You walk too slow. Can you please be a little bit faster?" Alex said pulling her.

"It's not my fault. I'm small and I have tiny feet" she said as he rolled his eyes.

"Did you just say you're small? You don't act small at all. And weldone Bonnie, I heard you asked Elena to go out on the date with a gun, you just blew her chances of having a new boyfriend and getting that stupid Bryan off her head. Seriously who does that?" He asked sarcastically as she kept mute.

"Yh, what's wrong with that huh? Remember she just got out of a heart breaking relationship? Who knows if that Edmund of a guy has similar or same motive?" She asked with arched brows.

"Edward is the elder brother of Laura that just returned from college, and she'd warn Elena if her brother was a flirt. And its Edward not Edmund" Alex grunted.

"Edward, Edmund, whatever. They all have an Ed and sound the same anyway" she said with a shrug as they kept hiking to school.

They got to the front of Bonnie's school building as she breathed down with a frowned expression.

"What is it?" Alex asked her

"Nothing, just that, my classmates are gonna mock me for not being able to host the party any longer. Especially that Rose of a girl. She'll be the mastermind because I didn't invite her to the birthday" Bonnie said as she clenched her fist.

"Can I skip school today?" She asked Alex who was mute for a sec.

"Hey idiot! Aren't you hearing the school's warning bell?!" Laura yelled as she raced to Bonnie and Alex.

"Oh, hi Bonnie" Laura said to her with a wave as she tried to catch her breath.

"Hi" Bonnie said sadly.

"Well, come on!" Laura dragged Alex as they both raced to their school.

"Bye Bonnie!" Alex said as She waved at him while he kept running alongside Laura.

"I guess I have to face my fears then" She muttered to herself as she stared at the school structure.

She walked inside and went straight to her class.

She said hi to their form teacher who didn't raise her head to know who was greeting neither did she respond.

"I guess I just have to stop saying hi" Bonnie muttered to herself as she walked down to her seat.

"Hi" Nicholas said to her as she waved back with a faux smile.

She looked at her left and saw Rose smirking at her.

"Excuse me class" their form teacher said and walked out of the class as Rose smirked the more. Can the day get more better for her?

"Take your time ma'am" Rose said after their form teacher had left.

Rose stood up and walked to the front of Bonnie's locker with a smug smile curled round her lips.

Bonnie stared at her waiting for the worse to unleash.
