"how may i help you??" i asked her once again.

"first of all congratulations upon your wedding with Carlton." she said while smirking.

"thank you...again,how may i help you??"i questioned her and this time i was tired of asking the same question over and over again.

"uhm...am here to deliver a message to you from my boss." she said in a mean way.

"huh!?? which boss of yours are you talking about??" i asked her.

"my name is Carol and i work with your husband Carlton so our boss sent me here to tell you that Carlton won't be able to resign from his job." she said.

"ohh really!!!? then i will wait for my husband to tell it to me himself cause am not going to take any news from a stranger like you since this is my first time meeting you." i leaned back in the chair while talking.

"still it won't make any difference cause he is not going to resign." she pulled out a packet of cigarettes and a lighter.

"hold it right there...you can't smoke in here so you either move out of my company and smoke from the streets or put back that packet in your bag." i stood up from my seat while talking to her.

"(smirks) i really wonder what Carlton saw in you that he quickly married you and now he wants to resign!!! there's something fishy." she said.

"okay i think we have talked enough...now get the hell out of my office this very minute." I yelled at her.

"haha you don't have to shout at me like a kid cause i didn't come to spend a night here." she replied.

"whatever...i don't really care so get the fuck up from my seat and get out of my office."i banged the table and pointed at the door.

"what's going on in here?? babe i heard you yelling from outside." Carlton asked after getting inside the office.

I moved from behind my desk and went where he was standing then i hugged him so tight.

"good you are back...i really missed you." I told him as we were still hugging.

"what's happening here?? Carol what are you doing here in my wife's office??" he asked her.

"babe she came to tell me that your boss refused you from resigning." I replied him.

"what!!!? Carol just because you were present during my conversation with boss,it doesn't give you the audacity to come here and talk to my wife." he told her.

"but someone had to deliver the news to her...the sooner the better cause boss is not going and willing to let you go." she replied.

"but my wife is my responsibility not yours so i don't see why you are so concerned about all this!!?" he told her.

"Carlton you can't resign from that company and we both know why so stop fooling around."she said with a smirk.

"okay Carol we have heard enough of your bullshit now get out of my wife's office."he said and she first hesitated but after a few seconds,she stood up and left.

Carlton banged the door behind her and after he hugged me again.

"babe who is she??" I asked him

"(sigh) sweetie first of all am sorry that she came here and told you some stuff but i didn't even know when she left the company and came right here!!...Carol is my personal assistant at the company and we have been working together for quite some time now." he replied.

"have you guys ever dated??" i seriously asked him.

"it was a one night stand cause we both got drunk at some party and ended up in bed but there were no strings attached whatsoever...from then nothing has ever happened between us." he replied.

"ohh I see...that explains her look towards you." I told him.

"what do you mean??" he asked.

"she was looking at you in a flirty way but i don't blame her cause you are so cute and it's normal for any girl to drool over you." i told him.

"haha what are you saying babe?? so you are free with other girls to flirt with me??" he asked.

"no babe...i will end up behind bars cause i will fight anyone who dares to flirt with you." I replied

"but you just let Carol go with it." he said.

"today i was so soft but let her flirt with you again next time when am around,then she will warn the rest not to." I replied.

"by the way is it true that the boss didn't allow your resignation?? and Carol said something like you can't leave the company...why??" I asked him.

"ohhh sweetie that's quite a long story for another day but it's true my boss didn't want me to quit but i insisted and he finally let me go though it's going to cost me a fortune." he replied.

"what do you mean??" I asked.

"we had an agreement with him that i had to work for him for a period of six years as compensation for what he did for my family." he replied while settling down in the couch.

"huh!!? so it's like you owe him?" I asked him.

"yah something like that and i will tell you more about it with time." he replied.

"so how many years have you worked for him so far??" I asked him while sitting next to him.

"four years and he gave me a condition that if am leaving his company i have to be the one paying the next person who will be working in my position for those two years." he replied in a sad tone.

"what!!!? that's not fair babe." I complained.

"I know sweetie but he has really been there for me for quite some time and i understand he still wanted my services but then i have to be there for you as well." he said.

"okay we shall work on it together no worries." I hugged him and he relaxed.
