Chapter 42: Chapter 42
*Laura Point Of View*
"I will leave you two to catch up," the man said and he left. Great! Cody's eyes flashed to me and I shifted back wards.
"Laura, I can explain..." He trailed off and huffed. He walked over to the bed and sat down.
"My father has been watching you since. I think he even planned for you to enter the orphanage. Immediately you did, he sent me there too. He was bent on getting to you. He made me do it and I agreed at first, but, when I got to know you, I regretted" he looked over to me.
"My father would have found another way to get to you if you didn't come here with..Gabriel," he spat out bitterly.
"What do you want?" I acted calmly but deep down I was heartbroken.
"I know that you won't believe me but I mean you no harm. I won't let him harm you," he assured.
"Thank you but I'm okay. You've done enough," I simply stated and he stood up.
"Please!!" He pleaded. "I think you should go," I said staring at the ground.
"Is it bad to be his son? Laura? Please just let me help you! Yeah, I had a bad intention but not anymore," he exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, but, I don't know who to trust anymore," I sniffed and hugged myself closer.
"But you can trust me," he reached out to me but I shifted away and he stepped back.
"I'm sorry!" I whispered as I looked up to him, tears blinding my view. He walked out of the room and I was left to cry alone in the cold.
*Third Person's Pnt Of View*
Laura fell asleep on that chair. Her body snuggled together. She cried herself to sleep after thinking about her life.
Meanwhile, her kidnapper was sound alseep, snoring deeply in his room.
However, Cody was still awake, trying to find the best way to sleep.
All his mind could think about was her, Laura! The one who got away..
He really liked her but he couldn't get her. Her heart is with Gabriel...
Gabriel!!! That name that he hated so much and despite his charms he was so stupid. He hated him so much.
Knowing that anytime from now he wouldn't sleep, he crawled put of bed and hurried down stairs.
He made sure that he didn't make a noise. Cause his dad is a light sleeper.
He almost cursed himself when he stepped on the last stair and it creaked.
Oh well! He thought as he walked to the fridge to get food. If he wasn't going to bed now he should at least eat!!!
On the other hand, his father shot out of bed as he heard footsteps. Cody wasn't careful enough but he did not know about this.. He thought Laura had escaped so he hurried downstairs in a quiet manner. The most silent of all!
He had the intention of grabbing something but thought otherwise. So he went empty handed, but was prepared.
He slowly approached the figure that was hovering closer to refrigerator. He took slow steps to it and swiftly wrapped his hands around the struggling figure.
"Where did you think you were going?" He asked huskily as the figure struggled.
"Dad! It's me. Cody!" The figure muffled out and he gasped before he let him go.
"Sorry Son!!! I didn't know it was you.... Why are you here in the first place," he crossed him arms.
"I couldn't sleep," Cody simply said as he found a couch to collapse on. His father, silently walked to him and sat down by his side.
"What's the problem," his father asked and he sighed.
"It's Laura! I think I have grown attached. I keep thinking about her, her safety!" Cody explained as his father patted his back.
"I told you to prevent that, didn't I?" He shouted and Cody's head bowed.
"You did father, I'm sorry," he apologized. He didn't want to say anything else. He knew that his father didn't like this.
"Why do you want her? Why did you capture her?" Cody asked. Yes! He helped his father to get Laura in many ways, but, he didn't know anything. He didn't know what his father wanted with her and his father wanted it to stay that way.
"That isn't important," his father replied as always. He patted his back and stood up.
"You should get some rest. You have a long day ahead of you," his dad stated and like that he was gone.
☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁
"Rise and shine little one," Laura heard and she stirred. It was her kidnapper, he brought a tray of food for her.
"Laura!" This time he shouted and she flinched and almost fell off the chair. Her eyes blinked opened and she yawned, her body ached because of her sleeping position.
She totally forgot that she was not at home. In her comfy bed. She looked around and when her eyes landed on her captor with a tray of food she flinched.
"Sorry to scare you," he dropped the tray at the edge of the bed.
"What is that for?" She asked and tried to act intimidating even in her situation.
"Please eat! It's for you," he said and she was flabbergasted. He seems calm, too calm. She thought. She didn't know what he was up to. Maybe the food has been drugged or better yet, poisoned.
"It isn't poisoned or drugged at all. I assure you that!"
Hastily, she picked up the tray and sat comfortably on the bed. She picked it slowly but her paced increased when she noticed how good it was.
Her captor sat across her and stared at her intensely. He admits that she looks a lot...
"Why are you staring at me like that?" She said when she noticed his gaze but he shrugged.
"You just look a lot like your mom," that sentence made her drop her food.
"You...know..my mom?" She asked huskily and he nodded.
"She was the love of my life, my everything," he replied sorrowfully. He really loved her, in a wrong way. A very wring way.
"Wait! Are you my father? Is Cody my brother? Is my mom dead?" Tears pricked her eyes as the words flew through her mouth.
