Chapter 30: Chapter 30

*Luke's Point Of View*

I stared at myself through the mirror as I raked my hair with my fingers.

My eyes lingered on the black suit that is a bit far from me, positioned neatly.

I have a day left for the wedding and I am so nervous in a bad way, or good way? Well I don't know.

Me getting married is exciting but the only thing wrong is that I don't love her. I don't know why I thought this could work. I'm clearly having thoughts. Anne's beautiful and all but I don't love her, I don't.

I agreed to this because of the orphanage, I was ready to do it but now something is holding me back. Anne and I don't share a feeling, a feeling that I share with....Sandra.

I know that I and Sandra have been distance and that's suppose to make me fail a bit out of love with her but....every single time I see her walked pass me with a shy smile I think of what am missing.

I'm missing Sandra.

I snapped quickly out of my thoughts when a knock was heard on my door.

"Come in," I sighed with my eyes glued on the door.

Sandra's head poked out and she grimaced at me completely stepping inside.

"I am sorry for disturbing but we are leaving in thirty minutes," she told me and I nodded.

My eyes dwell on her face for too long and I let it linger on her dress. She was wearing a rosy dress and it look good on her.

Her eyes moved away from mine and laid on my white tuxedo.

"I'll help you with that," she walked to my tux and grabs it gently.

"Thanks," I smiled and she moved over to my luggage, carrying it towards the door.

"Nah, it's okay. I can hold that myself," I said walking to her, trying to get the luggage from her grip.

"No it's fine," she sighed tilting her head. "It's my job."

"You know that won't let this go," I smirked and she chuckled. "Fine." she released the bag and I laughed.

"That's it," I teased and she rolled her eyes walking towards the door with my suit in her hands. I turned back to my luggage to check if everything are in place.

"Are you really going to marry her?" I turned swiftly towards her soft voice. I've never heard her so broken before.

Her eyes were glossy and her lips trembled. "I don't know but I have to, for the orphanage."

She nodded her with realization, "I know," she whispered. I walked towards her and engulfed her with a hug. She sniffed and cried freely into my chest.

I hate seeing her this way but I can't do anything about it, nothing at all.

"I understand but it still hurts," she sniffed as she raised her head to look at me.

"Yeah. I have doubts," I admitted and she sighed, lowering her teary eyes.

"But it doesn't feel right," I smiled, "This feels right," I gestured to her and it caught her attention as she grazed over me.

"It really does," she stated as we stared into each others eyes, my hands still wrapped on her back but now getting lower to her waist, her hands still against my back.

"I loved you," she said and I felt hurt. She told me that she 'loved' me not 'love' me. I know she's trying to let go of her feelings but it hurts.

Her hand trailed on my cheek as she smiled at me with those blue teary eyes. "Can we kiss?" She asked and I found myself nodding and leaning closer to her.

"Luke, Luke! Your dad is getting really grumpy," Laura voice boomed as the door opened slowly. We peeled away from each other before she could poke her head out of the door.

I nervously scratched the back of my neck while Sandra his her blushing face as Laura eyes scanned through us.

"What are you guys still doing here? Chop chop, it's a long way from here to London you know," she scolded.

"Yeah, I came to get him too," Sandra spoke and she nodded.

"Okay, we will leave soon," she stated still transfixed on the spot. Sandra seemed to hesitated but she later moved and Laura trailed behind her giving me a small smile.

I sighed, grabbed my luggage and walked out.

On getting closer to the car, I saw five people that I didn't know beside Gabriel and Laura.

"Luke," Laura called as she strolled to me, linking our arms together. "Come meet my friends,"

My eyes followed Sandra as she grabbed my luggage and stuffed it into the car. We are going to carry two limo because of Laura friends. One driven by Frank, the other by me or my dad.

"This is Nelly, Harper, Emma, Max, Ricky and Gabriel. Of course you know him already," she gestured to them hiding her red cheeks.

"Guys, ladies this Luke," she introduced and I smiled. "It's great finally meeting you guys,"

"No offence but we are ladies not guys " I think, Nelly corrected while I smiled.

"And we are not guys, we are gentlemen " max also corrected and Emma scoffed. "You wish."

I am really good at knowing names.

"Okay?" I laughed. I stepped out of their mist and walked towards the limousine.

"Hey dad," I greeted when I saw him in the driver seat. Funny that we have enough money to hire another driver and more, but dad's a bit bent on having privacy while I'm not against.

"Before you ask, I'm just working on my driving skills, it's been far too long that I have been behind the wheels," he explained.

"I understand dad," I smiled trying not to roll my eyes at his behaviour. And for a change I'm acting like Sandra and Laura. Is that bad?

Soon enough, we all got into the cars respectively and frank started driving before dad followed suit.

"Thanks for letting us come," Gabriel spoke and I smiled.

"It's not a big deal," Dad and I spoke simultaneously and we turned smiling at each other.

It took an hour or so to get to the airport. And once we did, we walked into our private jet.

Laura and her friends were stunned when they saw it. It's big and white, inside is white but the seats are white and orange.

I've got a lot of memories here, childhood memories. When mom was still alive, we usually go on a family vacation each year and it felt great. The last time we went, Katherine haven't been born.

It's odd that I still remember these things, I was so young at that time but I guess, I'm happy that I remember it, it's a memory that my mom is in, I don't want to ever forget it.

"Sir, do you need anything?" I looked up and saw the flight attendant with a tray containing a few glasses of wine.

"I am good," I said after grabbing a glass. She nodded and walked away while I slowly sipped on my wine savouring it.

'We are about to take off. Please buckle your seatbeats. I hope you enjoy the flight.' the voice came bursting through the speakers.

I swiftly dropped my glass and buckled up. I picked up my glass and my dad walked over to me sitting on the seat beside me.

He gave me a small before he buckled up and the flight to London began.

"Luke! Luke! Luke!" Someone yelled in my ear and I flinched. Thankfully, my seatbelt is strapped in, if not I would have been on the ground.

"You wouldn't wake up," I looked up and saw Katherine with a smug look on her face. She just likes pissing me up.

"I don't remember falling asleep" I whined. "How long was I out?"

"How should I know?" She scoffed. "We just landed so get up."

I groaned before removing the seatbelt. I followed Katherine out of the jet.

"It looks to me that we are in the airport," I let my eyes wander around.

"You think" she tsked. I just ignored her and walked over to my dad and they others who were waiting for us.

"We should be seeing our ri–" he stopped as his eyes trailed around. "Oh here they are."

We walked towards the two limousines. Two guys came out of each car.

"We have been expecting you sir." One of them bowed graciously.

"Then let's not leave the queen waiting," Dad smiled to him and he smiled back.

He opened the door and the other man did the same.

"Thank you," Dad spoke as he got into the limo. I waited for all of them to enter inside with the desire of wanting to sit closer to the louver.

I took the chance to look around and I suprisingly found people staring at us. It was odd but they were just curious. I didn't want attention but yet again, by the looks of it, I think the cars up front and back these two limousine are for security.

Sounds fair. She doesn't want anything to happen to her son in law or son in law's father and family.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed that kat had entered into the car. I jumped in and the guy closed the door. He moved over to the driver seat and started the engine.

Just like I said, the cars in front of the limousines moved and the ones behind us followed as we moved.

"I can't wait to see Anne," Katherine squealed and I rolled my eyes. Katherine, Nelly, max, Laura, me and Dad were in the first one while Gabriel, frank, harper, emma, and ricky were in the other.

I supported my chin with my arm as I rested on the closed door, grazing through the window, still pondering on my life wish is about to get ruined.

"What will happened to pur own limos?" Kat asked curiously.

"It had been taken care of," dad replied and I sighed. Of course it has.

I couldn't concentrate on the road so I lost track on time till we arrived at the Buckingham Palace.

We all scrambled out of the car as soon as the door was open.

I looked around the place and sighed. "This is now my new home. There's no going back now."
