Author's POV

"I'm sorry Angela, for doing this to you!"

"Making you stay with me against your will!"

Angela eyelashes flickered while her hands clenched tightly her dress. Feeling emotional at this moment.

No matter how hard she tries to tell herself, he does not matter to her! But his one word made her feel so much emotion at this moment while she could feel, he is truly regretting doing that to her.

"I'm sorry for my arrogance...and let you suffer because of me, making you cry because of me, telling a lie, and getting you hurt!...." He was still shrieking on her shoulder while his voice trembled to tell all the words.

Angela's tears fell out as her heart hurt for both of them.

"But why?"

"Why don't you love me? Angela..."

His words almost broke her heart as soon as she heard him while she felt a throb around her chest with mixed emotions to hear his expressive words.

He let go of her body while holding her arms and looking at her with red eyes.

"Why can't you let me explain? Why can't you hear me? Why didn't I tell you and just stay silent and hide the truth? Why did I finally take a step to confess my feelings to you which I didn't even have the courage to tell you three years ago when I just vanished from your life and went abroad to forget about you…"

Her eyes widened to hear him while he continued.

"All I need you to hear me, just once, but why can't you give me that chance Angela…"

"You give my parents a chance to explain to them even if you are angry with them, but why? Why do my words always feel not valid in your eyes?"

"Do you hate me so much that you can't even be ready to hear my side…"

Angela's heart thumping fast to hear every single word from him which is like a sword on her heart while she couldn't help but let her tears cover her cheeks while at the same time she can see his tears coming out from his eyes.

"I know! I know! I'm a criminal in your eyes but criminals also get a chance to explain themselves…"

"But what about me? All you want is divorce!"

His words were broken, while his lips curled up bitterly.

"I know, I'm a monster, liar, substitute!"

The last word made her body shudder.

"But wasn't I human?" He gritted his teeth with a gripe face.

Angela couldn't take it anymore of his words as she felt, she started to turn weak. Her heart is getting soft for him which she doesn't want for now.

So, she looked at him with mixed expression before retreating at last her gaze from looking somewhere else.

"Eric, this is your own karma! Whatever is happening now! Let's not hurt each other anymore…and let me go!" She tried to release her arms from him while her eyes couldn't move to him at all times in this sentence.

Eric looked at her with big silence before he finally released her arms.

As soon as his warm hands left her, Angela didn't feel good at all but this is not what she wanted? She felt frustrated with her own feelings which are not on her side and working properly as she wanted.

She looked at Eric finally and thought he understood her words but to her surprise, the next moment he just approached her and moved his one hand on her back head while the other on her waist giving a big pull to have her lips smashed with his.

Her eyes widened while she felt too panicked at this moment, she thought he was going to violent her. But no he just kissed her and released her from his grips the next moment only to see her shocking face which looked hurt by his actions.

Eric felt sorry to do that but it was late, he made another big mistake to kiss her…

"I'm sorry…" He huskily apologizes before moving from her room.

Angela stood frozen there, as she couldn't help but break down at this moment, and sat back on her bed with misery.

Her tears came out again as she couldn't help but get her legs above the bed and be in a curled-up position.

Mark's POV

"What the hell just I did? How could I touch her?" My hands race on my scalp while my mind sobered up completely to my last action.

"I went to apologize to her but in last made one more mistake…"

"Damn it!" He gritted his teeth while he moved to the bar section again to drink a full bottle of alcohol on one go...without caring about his health at all.

He drank non-stop until he felt Angela's phone vibrate in his pants pocket.

He stopped drinking and put the bottle back on the counter before he used his hand to go inside his pants to take out the phone from there.

He could see Angela's mom calling.

At first, he thought to disconnect it but then after some thought, he left the counter and went back to go towards the bedroom which he left just a few minutes ago.

But before, his finger could touch the doorknob. He heard her sobbing. As he felt stunned there for a long moment and left without giving her a phone to talk to.

The call already disconnected in the way as he finally texted himself to her mom, telling her that she was now tired as she did so much shopping outside. She will call tomorrow morning.

And next moment, her mom texted back,

'Alright, sweetie! I'm just glad you're doing fine... let's talk next morning!'

Eric looked at the screen last time before he went to his own room after many days and sat on the bed before lying half his body on it while his legs were still on the floor touching.

He closed his heavy eyes as his hand's backside put on his eyes to cover it. He felt heavy inside his heart. As his mouth parted next moment to take her name with ache.

"Angela…"

He breathed out heavily as drops of tears rolled down to the corner while his eyes were still closed.
