Eric's POV

As soon as I reach the destination. I got out of the car and looked at the ocean side where many huge ships were already ready to depart from the port.

I felt tense because the time was too little and we were still searching for the main ship.

I looked at my phone photo which showed the ship number.

All the cops and John searched with me for the ship until one of the cops informed us through headphones that he found the ship.

I felt my soul coming apart with each second.

I ran to the ship's location and others did the same.

"Angela, I'm coming!" I murmured between my heavy breaths while my legs just ran in the direction of the ship and finally I found it. I saw the ship from far away while I looked at my phone to match it. Because I don't have time to make any more mistakes.

As I was just a few far from the ship. The officer's voice came into my headphones.

"Mr.Brooks, please stop there! If you want to see her safe!" As soon as I heard him my forehead line deepened.

"What do you mean?" I asked in a hurry because every minute was killing me.

"Mr.Brooks, our men are already on the ship, and in a few minutes, they will take control of the ship. So don't worry! We had time on our hands! And if you went there, they would be alert." Hearing him, I closed my eyes and felt the heaviness start to lose.

"Alright, I gave you five minutes!" I declare and he just agrees with me.

I don't know why I still agree with them even when every minute is so depressing for me and Angela.

I looked at the watch and ship. But before five minutes passed the officer called me.

"Did they do it?" I asked straightforwardly.

"Yes! They did it! Now we need to enter and capture them. They informed me. There are only five-man and they are just normal black market workers. One of them was captured by our men but still, four are there!"

As I heard it, I felt relieved that they could settle this and the men are not some high profile dangerous people. That was the big fear for me of which type of dangerous people were around my Angela the whole time.

The black market-related people are just so bad to get related by any means. They are powerful, dangerous, and more than that human killers.

"Then let's start that!" I announced and the Officer informed his half people to circle surrounding the ship while the other half went with us inside the ship.

As soon as we entered the ship. We found two men who were guarding one of the doors. Angela should be there. I wanted to walk fast but the officer held my shoulder and asked me to stay silent as two cops went further and instantly raised their guns on them.

Both men got terrified and raised their arms. They have guns but that was in their pockets which the cops asked them to throw in the ocean and they did it.

After that, they held both of them with their arms.

While we started walking again towards the door now.

The two men should be with Angela behind this door. We need to be careful.

"Mr.Brooks, you need to knock on the door!" Officer told me.

I nodded to them while they stood on both sides of the doors hidden.

Officer signaled to me that they were now ready to attack. So, I just knocked on the door with a heavy bang.

And it did not take long when it was opened by one of the men.

His face frowned to see me instantly.

"Who are you?" He asked me and started trying to get his gun out of his pocket. But before he could succeed, one of the cops kicked his hand while the other captured him from behind putting his gun on his back.

After capturing him, I opened the door completely. While the cops were just behind me.

"Angela!" As soon as I entered I shouted with whole my might.

I looked around and saw Angela's fragile figure which was held by the last man. His hand put the gun on her head while she was too scared and looking at me with tears.

"Angela!" I felt scared to see her like this.

The gun is just pointed at her head, seeing this I couldn't make myself take one more step.

"Stay right there! Don't try to come here!" The man nervously declared.

"E..Erish!" I heard her whispered voice.

Cops also entered and saw the scene. They pointed the gun at the man.

The man got furious and gritted his teeth, "Put down your guns officers! Don't try to make me kill this woman!" His gun touched her head.

Angela felt terrified and closed her eyes.

I felt scared and looked at the cops.

"Officer, do as he says!" I ordered.

The officer wanted to argue but I warned him with stares.

The officer finally asked his cops to put down their guns.

"Good! Now let me go from here or I'll pull the trigger!" The man shouted and we let him go.

Angela looked at me and I closed my eyes and opened them to assure her that we will save her and she turned calm.

The cops withdrew in front of the door and the man walked towards the door with Angela pointing the gun.

But before he could take steps out from the entrance. The two cops were still hiding at the door. One of them used his leg to make him knockdown while the other cops snatched his gun and pushed Angela towards me.

I caught her at the right moment and she got in my arms.

"Angela!" I whispered her name.

She looked at me with a heavy breath while her eyes turned completely red.

"Erish!" She could not hold herself but hugged me and cried harder.

"Angela! I'm glad you are safe! You are safe" My arms tighten on her back. I don't want to lose her anymore.

"She's safe! She's safe!" My mind shouted.

My eyes filled with tears. I can feel her shivering in my arms. At this moment, I felt my soul aching and crying.

This incident made me realize that without her I can only die.

I don't know how many minutes we were like statues. But as soon as I broke the hug, she fell unconscious and I felt shocked and terrified to see her not responding.
