Author's POV

"Good morning, Mam…" The maid put down the breakfast tray on the table. While Angela just nodded plainly.

"Mam, if you need anything more, let me know now!" The maid gently asked.

"No, I don't need anything...just asked Eric to meet me now…" Angela's words made the maid happy as she thought now everything is going to be solved if Angela is finally ready to talk with Eric. They both can short out the things.

"Yes, Mam! I'll inform Sir, now!" The maid happily replied while she left the room immediately closing the door again.

Angela sighed as she thought about last night's thing.

STUDY ROOM

"What?"

"What did you say?" Eric asked, arching his brows while turning to the maid with stunned eyes before closing the files in his hand.

He couldn't believe what the maid said to him.

"Yes, Sir, Madam wanted to meet you now and she asked me to inform you that…" She gave a small smile.

Eric put the files on the desk.

He never thought, she will ready to talk to him this fast.

"Alright, you can leave!" He responded while the maid nodded and left the room.

Eric stays for a long minute in his place before he way toward the master bedroom. After their last conversation, this was the first time when she finally asked to meet him. How could he not feel surprised?

'Angela…' He opened the door in a hurry and entered only to see her stand in front of the window backing herself in front of him.

"Angela…" His voice was gentle.

Angela heard him and turned to look at him.

Eric felt numb as soon as he saw her eyes, it's not like every day, something is changing there! But what he can't guess…

"You told the maid that you want to meet me…" He calmly inquired.

Angela looked at him for a long moment silently before finally answering him in one word," Yes."

Eric gazed at her while he asked," And why?"

"Because I can't leave like this in one bedroom." She replied.

"What do you mean?" Eric's brows twitched.

"Eric, let me roam around in the mansion. I'll stay in the mansion but you need to permit me to at least walk around the house."

Eric's eyes enlarged with disbelief as he couldn't help but feel suspicious. She's ready to live.

Angela could guess what he was thinking at this moment, so she replied in advance to him, "It's not like I wanted to stay here but I don't want to make poor staff suffer because of me. However, at least I can get this much freedom from you. I'm not asking for too much…"

Eric didn't feel anything wrong with her asking, and he also feel the pain to make her lock like this, so he agreed to her, " Alright, you can walk into the house, but don't try to leave the mansion if you truly wanted to see all the staff happy…and yourself moved freely in the mansion."

Hearing him, Angela nodded calmly.

"Alright, I agree…" She met his gaze and nodded.

Her strong appearance made him nod. As he moved to go back, Angela sighed while he suddenly stopped between his walks and said, "But, you still can't use the phone to call your mom and friend in my absence, remember that!"

Hearing him she just nodded…

Eric guessed her silence as 'yes' and left finally, but this time he didn't lock the door. He let them stay open.

Angela's lips curled up as she thought, she can run anytime now.

She got permission to roam around but for now, she will do as Eric wanted.

Last night's Eric's every word made her cry but still, it didn't wave her decision to accept his apology and forget about his lie.

Even though he is telling the truth and his love is true, she can't accept his betrayal, his lies. She can't trust him again. Even though she started to know her feelings, her self-respect doesn't want her to go with him again. She can't let herself fall for him completely and for that leaving this place is the only option. She just needs the right time to run from here.

Eric went back to his room and looked through the sky out of his window.

He never thought, Angla and he could talk normally with each other after what he had done with her. But to his surprise, she not only talks calmly but tells him that she will never leave for the sake of the staff.

However, for how many days, she will think like that, he doesn't know… what if one day she changed her mind and didn't care about anyone and just wanted to leave…

When he got busy in thought, suddenly, his phone rang. He looked at the phone call. It's Jack.

He pressed the answer mode and pressed the phone against his ears.

"Hello." He plainly said.

"Hello, Boss…" Jack's voice comes from another side.

"What happened?" Eric directly asked.

"Boss, the meeting which is going to be attended by you. The date is already set."

Eric understands.

"So, when do I need to go to H City?" He inquired.

"Boss, you need to leave tomorrow on a midnight flight. Because the meeting is held by the director early in the morning."

Eric thinks about Angela. If he goes, he needs some people to look after her.

"Alright, book my ticket! I'll go." Eric responded plainly.

"Yes, Boss!" Jack replied from another side before finally disconnecting the call.

Eric looked at the phone screen and thought he needed to explain to every staff member to watch over her. Until he comes back and talks to Angela also.

He never thought one day he need to be like this to make her stay with him.

He never does something like this, but his damn heart and fear almost make him not approve of being gentle and letting her go.

He wanted to be selfish for himself for the first time. He wanted her and for this, he will do everything. Even he needs to be cold in front of her to make her accept him and let him explain.
