Chapter 47: Chapter 47

I heard the doorbell ring and I looked up at Russeli who had just finished dressing up, he also looked at me and we were just like two newlywed couples who weren't expecting anyone at the moment.

Sinead was not at home and he had told me that he wouldn't be back until the next day. I got up with my red dress sweeping the floor since it was too long and looked like one of those fairytale dresses you see in movies.

My hair fell perfectly down my shoulders and I was wearing light makeup. I was all dressed up. Russeli had asked me where I was going but I had told him it was to meet a long friend, well it was to meet Gavin who could still be waiting for me at that restaurant.

It was almost two hours since he had called me and I was held up here because of the nasty time I was spending with Russeli on my bed. It was not a moment I could give away because we have been apart for a long time.

"Are you expecting anyone?" Russeli asked me as we both headed towards the door, he was dressed in the outfit he came with yesterday but he was still dazzling in it.

"No." I opened the door and a guilty smile spread through my lips at the man who was standing right next to the door. "Gavin." I pressed my lips together and parted them and was about to say something else but he pulled me into a hug.

"Natasha, I have missed you so much." He said in his majestic voice, I know he normally hugs me a lot when I was in the states, but right now Russeli was here and I felt so uncomfortable with the hug so I pulled away and turned my eyes to see Russeli's face fall.

"Who is this?" Gavin looked from Russeli to me and I turned my attention back to him.

"Meet Russeli, the one I told you about," I smile and look over at Russeli whose face seems to brighten a bit, he must be thinking what I have told Gavin. "Russeli, this is Gavin, he helped me become who I am today."

They both shook hands and I stared at Russeli who was also staring at me. "Do you have something to say?" I asked, curious since his expression was like someone who wants to say something.

He looked at Gavin, more like examining him before he shook his head. "No, it is nothing important..."

"Natasha let's go," Gavin spoke before Russeli could finish his speech and I raised my brow at Gavin, I know that he doesn't interrupt others, I just can't understand what had come over him right now and the way he stares at Russell was like a lion who stare at his pry.

I looked at Russell and the next thing I noticed was Gavin's hands around my waist and my eyes dilated. In the states, Gavin rarely does this, except for special occasions where I go to meet his friends at a party, but damn he was acting up and it was not a good thing since Russeli's expression was darkening.

I was about to say something but Russeli interrupted. "Let's talk later then." He flashed me a thin smile and walked out of the house. I wonder what he was thinking right now, I just prayed he was thinking the worst because Gavin was just like a brother to me.

"Let's go, Natasha." Gavin voiced out again and I turned my attention to him. I would have talked about his attitude right now but there was no need since he was already aware of the feelings I have for Russeli.

We first went out and grabbed dinner. He had reserved the whole top floor since I was popular and he wouldn't want anyone interrupting us. I thought it was too much but he protested so I gave up since we had the money right now.

They served our meal but Gavin just held the bottom of his glass staring at me, I raised my brows knowing he had something to say and waiting for him to say it out.

"You are staying more than we had discussed and agreed, you promised to return quickly." I know that was the promise I made, it has been close to two months and yet I haven't gone back, maybe I wouldn't. "Anyways, I said I should come over and see you." He raised his glass to his lips and took a large sip.

Gavin always has a way of changing his mood. He was sad when he talked about me not keeping that promise, but now he was acting so calmly about it.

"I am sorry for taking this long, how is mom and dad?" I missed his parents, they had called me once in a while and were not aware of what was going on between me and Mr Gilbert, they did not know about my dark past here either.

"What do you think?" He raised his brow and I pressed my lips together already knowing the answer to his question. His parents cherished me like their daughter and I was sure they would miss me. "Are you not done with the music?" He put his glass down and stirred it.

"Not yet, we have just released the hit song, the main song is to come later..."

"You are in control here Natasha," He cut me off and stared at me intensely. "You can tell them when you want to sing the music and also when you want to end this all, why do I feel you are prolonging that..." I was silent as he closed his eyes momentarily. "Do you want to keep staying here?"

I know how he felt, correction, I am not sure if I know clearly how he felt but I could sense something far beyond care. Gavin had been the person who worried most about me and he had watched me want to kill myself countless times in the last four years, I know he was worried that I would get hurt again, but he had taught me how to be strong.

I chuckled and sipped my wine wanting to clear the air that was tense between us. "You are very funny Gavin, you know nothing about how music works so do not jump to conclusions." I looked away.

Who was I fooling?

Gavin was a doctor but he had musician friends and he was also the one who connected me to them that made me who I was today, it was all thanks to him, but I was not only staying here because I want to stay by Russeli's side, I was honestly not done with the music.

I heard him exhale sharply and he leaned back to his chair. "You are the boss and I am just a novice." I looked at him and he flashed me a smile, it was a half-hearted smile and it was obvious he didn't want to drag the argument any further
