Chapter 43: Chapter 43
Russeli Ryan POV.
The music ended and Natasha left without looking at me. I could see my father's happy face. I could see the joy he had since he would be making a lot of money soon. This was a hit that would fill his greed, even after doing all that he had done in the past.
The studio was now empty, but I just stared at him. He was about to leave too when he saw my glare, still, a smile curled upon his lips.
"Oh, my son, you did well in your music, Natasha Wilbur was a good help to you and she did a good joy in bringing out your emotions." He said In a joyful glee.
My lips twitched. "Yes, she is a good help to me," I said coldly. "Maybe you don't know who she is, let me remind you, she is the maid whom you sent away and with pains." I barked and I watched his face turn pale.
I know Malinda was severely injured, but still, he had sent her to another country and had not cared to find out if she was alive or not, to me he was so cruel.
"You know?" He raised his brow. I couldn't believe he would ask me such a question, no remorse, nothing, how can a man be this cold.
"You are a miserable dad." I scoffed. "Why don't you send her away as you did in the past? You are the type to trample on the poor and overlook them." I glared at him. "Do you have any idea she will come back to help your company?"
"I sent her to her victory." He spits the words out like he had done something to be proud of. "I deserve this help she is rendering, and I can't send her off until my company becomes popular again." He was so confident.
I clenched my fist. "This is all that you think about, your company and nothing else matters to you, not even a life, not even the pain you hurt you cause to others." I shook my head in disbelief. "Where have you left your conscience? Did you even feel anything when you sent her away?"
Tears clustered in my eyes, now I feel so much pity for Malinda, now I feel more hurt than ever, how did I happen to have a father like this, what have Malinda gone through all these years.
"Don't say something like that to me, I am still your father." He told me and I chuckled as I shook my head, looking at the man who I had admired for years, a man who I have loved as my father.
"My pride hurts that I grew up with a father that has no soul." I watched his face turn ugly, but who cares, he was like a monster to me right now. "I will put a stop to your greed." I turned to leave.
"Is that a threat?" He asked coldly and I faced him.
"Just think whatever you want." I flashed him an evil smile and left the studio, banging the door behind me. All that I was going to do to stop his greed was playing in my head, this time I won't back off.
I went to see Yvonne at her apartment. She had been hiding from me for the past few weeks and I knew she had done something wrong in the past. The truth was that I hate her more now, but she still has things to tell me, things that only she would say.
I sat down on the chair across from her and she looked up at me with trembling eyes. This was the feeling of guilt when they had done something bad and I wanted her to feel that pressure.
"Yvonne, I have come to know you these four years as a person who doesn't hold grudges or lie about your feelings, please tell me only but the truth." I looked at her eyes. "What happened to me?"
She put down the book she held in her hands and looked down to her fingers. "I am so sorry Russeli, I knew you love Malinda but I was so jealous that I hate seeing you around her. I told your father all about how you both intended to flee that day." She peeked up at me from her eyelashes.
"Yvonne why?" I swallowed hard when she didn't respond. I was here to know all the truth and to hear it from her. "Then, how did I lose my memories?" Yvonne looked up at me with enlarged eyes and I could see the fear in her eyes and her hesitation.
A few days ago, Dominic had done some research and had told me about the drug injected into my IV, he had told me that was the cause of my lost memories, and there were only two people to suspect, Yvonne was one of them.
"I am so sorry Russeli, it was out of jealousy, I asked someone to inject a drug into your IV so that you would never remember Malinda again." She fell to her knees and I saw tears filling her eyes. "I am at fault Russelli, I am sorry."
"Do you have any idea how you ruined my life with that?" I shouted and she trembled. "Do you know what it means to live blank while hurting someone else?" I ran my hands through my hair as tears filled my eyes.
I exhaled sharply, I was not done with my questions, I had to keep calm and get all the answers I needed from her. "One more thing... Do you know that Malinda Kristen is Natasha Wilbur all these while?"
I gazed at her, hoping she would not lie to me like she did that day at my house. I had asked her if she knew where Malinda was but she had bluntly lied.
"I just found out." Her eyes were looking at me like a lost dog that had just gotten caught.
"I don't believe you will be so heartless Yvonne." I thought she would at least tell me the truth when I had asked then. "I pleaded with you, but you told me she was dead." I rub my hands through my face and sniffled. "Do you know the difficulty I have to go through, but still you hid all these from me for a good four years?"
"I still love you Russeli, I did all that because I love you, I don't want to lose you, I don't want you to go to anyone, just look at me."
I scoffed and got up. "You are so selfish Yvonne, I know you love me, but I can't even look at you, because right now you only disgust me." I left the house in anger.
