Chapter 63: Chapter 63

Chapter 62

Facing the Truth 1

The ride back was a ghost silent one. Alex could not wrap his head around what he just witnessed. Claire never struck him as the cheating type. She had always been calm __ maybe wild in bed, but that was it.

He never imagined that she'll cheat on him. Now he understood why Tony was scared to tell him. Had she been fucking Mr Gelintine all these days? Or had she been with other men? He could not shake those questions off his mind. How long had she been having an affair?

There was a good distance between both of them as they sat in the car, each glued towards the opposite door, he did not even glance at her for once. He had his head turned towards the window, mentally counting the buildings as they passed by.

Claire, on the other hand, could not help but steal glances at him. Her heart was racing in her chest, 'what now?' That question occupied her mind the whole time.

"For how long have you been screwing that pig?" Alex asked in a cold tone, without turning to face her. The chilly atmosphere in the car multiplied.

She shivered in fright before gulping down a huge lump of saliva.

"It… is t-he f.f-irst time." She stuttered in barely audible words.

He turned slowly to face her, with a prominent frown on his temple.

She dropped her eyes.

"I'm telling the truth." She added.

He knew that she was lying but he did not call her out, instead, he turned back to find solace in his window view.

Technically, she was not lying. She had fucked 14 different guys in the past 48 hours. But this was the first time she had her legs opened to Mr Gelintine. Other than the other guys where it was a mere coincidence, this session with August was highly anticipated.

"Do you like him?" He asked without facing her.

"No!" She answered almost immediately.

"Then why did you fuck him?" Alex asked bluntly.

"I… Uhm…. He said he was going to sign the papers only if I slept with him."

Alex giggled evilly. A wicked smirk could be seen on the reflection of his face on the car glass.

She knew just how lame she sounded right now. But she knew that she had to say something.

"And at the end, did he sign it?" He asked in mockery.

The more time went by, the more she began to get angrier… why? Because she knew that she just lost Alex and everything she wanted to gain from him, and she did not even get to reach her climax. She was this close to getting there, but those waves never came.

They did not utter a single word to each other throughout the flight.

By the time they landed in Limesville, it was already after 00:00 o'clock. The streets were deserted, and he drove her silently to her home. He had released his bodyguards for the night, so he was the one behind the steering wheel.

"Alex…" she started when he pulled up in her driveway.

"Don't!" He interrupted her. "Get out! quickly," he ordered sternly.

With her mouth hung open, she stared at him for a while before obediently stepping out and shutting the car door. She understood his anger, but still… he had no right to treat her like trash __ it hurt more. But she swallowed it all up for now.

He drove off, leaving her standing there, watching him speed off until his car completely disappeared from her view.

She had just her purse with her, her luggage, everything, was still in her hotel room in central town. She clenched her purse in her hand as she headed to her door. Slowly, all the emotions she had been trying to suppress throughout the flight, started flooding in.

She crashed on her floor as soon as she got in.

Did she feel like crying? Absolutely not!

Did she feel guilty? Maybe a little!

Did she regret everything? Hell no!

Would she want to have the experience again?" Oh yes!

Despite it all, her heart was still not at ease. She did love Alex and wanted to be with him, she wanted something stable. Those guys, fucked her like she was a slut… it was a good feeling, but just for the moment. She needed Alex's affection, he fucked her with passion, and treated her like she was everything to him, but now __ things would never be the same again.

"Fuck, Claire! Fuck! You blew it." She screamed at herself, pulling her hair in anger and frustration.

She stayed on the floor, cursing and lamenting for God - knows - how - long.

"What am I gonna do now?" She thought out loud. "I can't lose everything just like this." She stood up on her feet and began pacing in her living room despite the lights being off. "What now? I was this close to getting my share of the company. If I can't have your love, I must have your wealth." She resolved.

Then she remembered the card. She used the light emitted by her phone to search for it in her purse. She stared at the card and placed it on her chest.

"I think I know where to go from here."

With that, she finally headed upstairs to get a warm bath and go to bed. Depending on Alex's decision tomorrow, she knew exactly what she had to do.

***********

"Open the damn door, Tony!" Alex yelled as he banged on Tony's door.

He decided to head straight to Tony's place, he needed to know everything Tony knew.

"Sir, " Tony said when he answered the door. He was surprised that his boss would show up at his house at this hour of the night. He looked at his watch before looking up at Alex. "It's past 1 am sir, is everything ok?" He asked.

"Everything would be ok if you tell me what I want to know, if not… trust me, nothing would be ok tonight!" Alex threatened through gritted teeth, only to crown it all with an evil smile.

Tony took a step backwards, all the hair on his body stood on ends as if an evil wind just blew past them. He was totally unaware of the fact that Alex had travelled to and from central town within this short time frame.

"Sir, " he swallowed hard, "what is it that you have to know?" He summoned courage from mother earth.

Alex clapped, "I thought you'd never ask." A clean glee spread out across his face. "Step aside then, let's have a chat over soda," Alex said cheerfully as he gently shoved Tony to the side and stepped in.

Tony stood there, dumbfounded, he obediently moved aside in total confusion. He stared at his boss as he freely strolled into his home, and then he stared across the quiet streets as if the solution to his puzzle look would pop up on the street.
