Chapter 62: Chapter 62
Chapter 61
Discovering the Truth 4
4 hours Earlier.
"Sir , madam just walked into the hotel."
"Good, let me know when she walks out."
He had intentionally booked the room adjacent to hers, he began wondering why she was not in the penthouse as Tony had said. He clearly remembered that Tony mentioned booking the presidential suite.
He did not ponder on that. A lot of questions began running through his mind. He was worried that maybe she'd gotten into trouble or her old flame was around or past enemies _ if she had any, were loittering around. All those theories made absolutely no sense, but he still considered them anyway.
He was certain about one thing, whatever trouble she had gotten herself tangled up in, he was going to untangle her out. He had monitored her the whole day and so far, there was nothing suspicious or cautious about her activities.
He decided to catch some sleep before the time for the rendezvous, who knows… maybe Mr August Gelintine was the one giving her a hard time. Anyway, he would not reveal himself until he fished it out _ whatever it was.
Approximately 4 hours later, he dressed up casually in a white double collar shirt and dark blue jeans, following Claire as she headed out of the hotel.
She took a cab, without having to repeat the instructions to his chauffeur, his chauffeur followed Claire's cab, giving a good distance between them but not enough to lose the tail.
"Bonsoir Monsieur Beau, je ne sais pas si tu me souviens ?"
*Good evening Mr Beau, I don't know if you remember me?*....
A woman interrupted him at the entrance to the hotel's restaurant where Claire and Mr Gelintine had to meet. It appears it was one of the wives of one of the other business guru's in the country, they had met once in a business summit. Technically, he could not even remember her. Those types of gatherings were always boring and filled with unnecessary bragging among businessmen and their success.
He could at least remember her husband because he was a well renowned businessman, but the wife; he could barely even remember if he had ever crossed paths with her before.
She kept on rambling back and forth about a potential business deal. The only reason why he even gave her a listening ear was because he was trying his best not to be haughty.
Alex alighted at the hotel a good number of minutes after Claire, and now this woman was delaying him unnecessarily, even though what she was proposing was tempting, his mind was occupied somewhere else.
After what felt like decades, he was finally free to go. He sat at an angle ninety degrees to Claire and Gelintine, close enough to get bits of their conversation but not enough to be noticed, he had his back to the couple, camouflaged in a bizarre Italian hat.
He was impressed how much she tried her best in convincing Mr Gelintine to work with them. Alex was very well aware of the fact that Claire was a good business woman. He made her his secretary/manager because of how good she was in business and convincing people.
"I bet you are tired Sir, how about we go upstairs to your room and you can relax and sign the papers?" Claire proposed.
Unfortunately for Alex he could not see the couple's facial expression so, he just listened on silently. Honestly, it did hurt him that Claire would suggest something like that, but he just waved it off, knowing that she wouldn't do anything stupid… or so he thought.
"Of course I'm extremely exhausted, I can barely focus on anything now." Mr Gelintine chuckled.
"I could give you a massage too, I'm good at massages."
Claire added.
Alex listened on. He could see how the guy sitting to his right looked at him, silently asking for orders.
Alex shook his head, indicating that they sit tight. He wanted to know what she was up to. He had watched so many films to know that it was always better to listen till the end than walk out half way through a conversation, the risk of misunderstanding the who scenario was always 97% and above.
He decided to trust her method and give her the benefit of the doubt.
"Oh My! That'll be great. I'll appreciate it alot." Mr Gelintine replied.
"Come on up." He said;
Alex looked at the guy with him, they looked back and each other trying to get a response from each other's countenance. Alex stayed passive, even as Claire followed Mr Gelintine towards the elevator.
"Check what floor they are heading to, and check the room number." Alex ordered.
He decided not to bring Anthony on this mission because he was determined to find out what Tony was not telling him.
"Sir, they took the elevator to the penthouse." The bodyguard reported back to Alex.
Alex tried to keep his calm, but deep down he felt angry goosebumps sweep through his entire body.
He sat down patiently for about ten minutes.
"Get me access to the penthouse, immediately." He ordered the chief bodyguard, who had been with him the entire time.
The bodyguard reported back to him that the hotel would not grant them access to the penthouse, ofcourse, he was very well aware of that, there's always the privacy protocol with the penthouse _ it's the presidential suite for Christ's sake. Not everyone can afford it.
He had to request to see the manager in person before they could finally head up. Technically, almost an hour had gone by and by this time, Alex was already furious. Claire had not shown up for over an hour. 'what the hell would a woman be doing *alone* in a room with a man?'
Before matching up, he called her, twice__ the phone rang and stopped without being answered. He tried the last time, just maybe she was doing something else and what he thought.
All the men with him were sweating bullets, they knew what was going down but they had no idea how the deal was going to be finalized. Hopefully, their boss would not take out his anger on them.
When she did not pick his call the third time, that's when all hell broke loose.
They got out of the elevator, with Alex leading the group, they stormed into the parlour, opening the door using a spare card.
Blood began flowing rapidly throughout his body when he did not see any trace of her or him in the sitting room, but he could clearly hear the disturbing sounds coming from the next room __ the bedroom.
He did not wait for his boys to kick the door open. He matched in anger and smashed the door open… "BANG!"
And there she was, legs wide open, with another guy pounding her.
