Chapter 93: Chapter 93

Third POV.

They fought for thirty minutes non-stop before they killed all the rogues that were present.

“Are you okay?” Leila asked the old people who were breathing heavily since they were tired and out of energy.

They nodded their heads with a smile on their face as they knew that if it weren’t for her help, most of them would have been dead.

“Leila.”

“Leila.”

A voice sounded loudly making her turn her head towards the entrance and started running since she recognised the sound.

“Elana?” she called out immediately she saw her sister running towards her.

Elana laughed as she shed tears since she was pleased to see her sister okay.

“Are you hurt? Are you in pain? She asked as she looked at Leila’s body to see whether she would find any injury.

Leila shook her head as she held her sister.

“Were you guys ambushed?” Leila asked as she looked at Elana.

“We were trapped. Those alphas were working with the rogues. Luckily, Amaya informed Elaine that the kingdom was attacked thus we should be careful. When I started acting weird, Marcus got into their minds and found out that they were the enemies and that there were rogues waiting for us outside. He controlled them and used them so that we could get out of there. The only people were hurt were the warriors who were waiting for us outside. It is our fault that they lost their lives. If only we had listened to Aurora no one would have been hurt,” Elana said as tears tried to escape.

Leila wanted to say something to make her feel better but she decided to remain silent as she knew that what Elana was saying was right. If only but sadly in life there are no ‘ifs’.

“Where is Aurora and dad?” Aiden said in a panic when he did not find his family and he could see that the council were present.

“Shit! Jordan, Doris and Aurora followed a rogue that kidnapped father when he was stabbed. I came here because the elders were also under attack,” Leila explained as she looked at Aiden.

“You! You just love yourself and never care about others. You know that you have speed that you could have got him but you opted to come and save them despite knowing that they have powers that they could use but the ones you sent don’t,” Aiden said angrily as he pointed at Leila making her lower head head as she bit her lower lip.

“Shut up Aiden. She had to make sure everyone was okay. She arrived in time in the conference room to save us. The king was kidnapped when she was dealing with the rogues all by herself. You shouldn’t be blaming her for anything! She is the queen thus she has to go around the kingdom making sure everyone is okay, not just your family. You are the one who is selfish!” Eliud said coldly as he pitied Leila.

They knew how hard she had tried to make sure everyone was safe but just one mistake or for a few moments, something like that happens. She had proved to them that she was a good queen.

“What do you know? Do you think that she saved them because she wanted everyone to be safe or because she knew that if they were dead or kidnapped she won’t have anyone to teach her how to control her powers? They have powers that are strong enough to fight against the enemies but what about my family? If anything happens to any of them, I will never forgive you!” Aiden said as he turned around ready to leave.

“Aiden, you shouldn’t say that when it is clearly your fault for not listening to Aurora when she said that something bad was going to happen,” Elana said angrily since she never thought that he would talk to Leila in that manner.

“So what if Aurora said so? If she had not showed up. If she wasn’t my mate, my father wouldn’t have been kidnapped! Who knows whether he is still alive or not since he was stabbed before being taken away? She is just a jinx! She killed her mother and now, she has killed my father!” Aiden said as he turned and glared at Leila before leaving

“Aiden,” Leila called him but he ignored her.

Leila felt as if her heart had been pierced. That her body was weak and there was no strength and energy left. She fell on the ground and looked down.

“Leila,” Elana called her as she sat next to Leila and embraced her cause she knew that Leila was in pain.

If she had not showed up.

If she wasn’t my mate, my father wouldn’t have been kidnapped.

She is just a jinx.

She killed her mother and now, she has killed my father.

What Aiden said rang in her ears. She wondered why she was so unlucky. Why what happened happened.

“Elana, you should also leave me. Everyone says…everyone thinks that..”

Leila said as she cried but Elana interrupted her as she shook her head.

“No, don’t say that. They are just stupid. You are my sister and I will never leave you!” Elana said.

The councils looked at Leila in pity as they felt that she did not deserve what was happening to her. To them, she was their lifesaver.

“Leila. Forget about him. So what if the rogues are after you? It is evident that he doesn’t love and value you. We will be going home. Elana and I will always be with you. We love you and you will always be our family. If no one wants to help us deal with the rogues then we will work extra hard and fight them ourselves,” Marcus said as he knelt down so that he could reach Leila.

Hearing what Marcus said, Leila cried harder. She knew that they loved her as they were her family but she wanted her soulmate to also love and always protect her. She yearned for love but it seemed impossible. Her heart had been shattered once more.

“Elana, why me? Why am I always suffering? Why can’t I ever find happiness?” Leila asked as she cried and shook Elana.

“Some of us are missing,” an elder said, making Leila, her family and the council look in the direction.
