Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Leila's POV.

"Do we have to use the vehicle while their pack is just a few kilometres away?" I asked since I was already tired of sitting.

"Just stop with your stupid dramas. We are using the vehicle so that we can arrive there soon," Marcus said.

"Whatever," I said after rolling my eyes.

"I wonder what's wrong with you. You have been sarcastic and dramatic since you turned eighteen," he said.

"How will you know that I want to be fucked hard, "I answered sarcastically.

"Leila," my sister shouted.

"Damn bitch. Did you have to shout? I'm just right behind you, you know," I complained.

"I don't care."

"Sort yourself 'cause I do care," I said, making her roll her eyes.

"It has been ten minutes and we haven't docked yet. Don't you know how to drive? Or you forgot how one drives? Nope, I am sure that the car is too hefty for you to drive."

"Goddammit. What's wrong with you, idiot? Can you just shut up once in your life?" she reprimanded.

"What have you just said? That I should keep quiet for once in my life? Do I have to remind you that I have been quiet since I turned sixteen? I have just started talking and have been dramatic yesterday yet here you are talking as if I had a perfect life and I have always been jovial," I yelled, making them feel guilty.

"Leila…" she called softly but I was not in the mood to talk to her.

"Just let me be, Elana. Once we reach, just inform me," I said as I wore my earpods and started listening to music.

I don't know why she had to remind me of the terrific past which I am trying my best to push behind or forget. It isn't easy for me because what happened on my sixteenth birthday is still fresh in my mind despite how much I try to forget it. Calling it stupidity or cowardness cause I frankly don't care. I am just sure that as time goes by, I will forget it. It won't be a flesh wound but a healed blotch and I will celebrate the victory of breaking the bondage of my past. I closed my eyes as I let myself be carried away by the lyrics.

After a few minutes.

"Leila, we have arrived," I heard Marcus say as he tapped my shoulder.

Opening my eyes as I analysed where we were, I saw an immense mansion, no, it is a castle since it is so huge and it is the place where the king and queen live, in front of us. People were in luxurious and fabulous outfits and it made me feel inferior.

"Come on, let us go. The alpha has already arrived," Elana said, earning a nod from both of us.

We stepped out of the car and waited for the alpha to get out of his. I was feeling nervous and I really didn't know why. Feeling a gaze on me, I lifted up my eyes and saw that Liam and his parents were all looking at me. Having the urge to stand up for myself to avoid further humiliation, I looked up and glared at them. For a minute, they were shocked when they realized what I had just done and the Alpha roared as a sign for me to submit and stop doing what I was doing. I honestly don't know where the strength and courage to flout his demand came from.

"Leila," both Marcus and Elana shouted, making me shift my gaze from the alpha's family to them.

"What?" I asked coldly.

"Who do you think you are? To glare at me and defy my orders?" Alpha Charles asked and I rolled my eyes in return.

"You are so lucky that we are in another pack's territory. I will deal with you once we go back to our pack," he declared, making me shrug.

"I apologise on her behalf, Alpha Charles," Elana said as she bowed her head.

"You don't need to apologise for me. I haven't done anything wrong," I enunciate.

"As you can witness, your eyes do not respect her alpha and she doesn't want to apologise. I would have forgiven her if she hadn't said what she had just said."

"I don't care. Why should I ask for your forgiveness? If I were you, I would start being kind and watch your tone while talking to me cause your family throne will soon be mine," I said with authority, making them tremble with us and feel the urge to bow their heads.

"What is she talking about, Elana?" Luna Maureen asked.

"I think you should ask your son," she said.

"Excuse me," we heard a voice and we all looked at the direction to which it was coming from. A tall muscular figure stood in front of us. His hair was blonde in colour, for sure he was handsome but not more than my mate. I averted my gaze so that he cannot catch me studying him.

"I am the beta Jones of the Sunshine Pack and I am here to welcome you," he said deeply.

"Thank you, Beta Jones. I am Alpha Charles from Black Moon Pack."

"Okay, kindly follow me so that I can take you to where the other guests are," he said then started walking.

"Don't forget to search for your mate," Elana whispered to me, making me blush.

"Okay," I said to avoid a lot of drama.

"Leila, don't think that I have forgotten what has taken place a few minutes ago. When you go back you will be punished for being arrogant, rude and disobeyed to your alpha," Alpha Charles said in a low voice to avoid Beta Jones from hearing him.

"So Beta Jones, has the prince found his mate?" Liam asked as a way to avoid the weird silence between us all.

"Not that I know," he answered.

"Isn't the prince supposed to be crowned as the king after he has found his mate?" Luna asked.

"Yes that was the old tradition but they have decided to change that since the king is getting old and he needs to retire as soon as possible."

"Wow. I guess then most packs will start following what the king has just done," Liam said.

We all understood that he wanted his father to step down so that he could become the alpha.

"Maybe I should remind you that there is a difference between normal werewolves and lycans. For you, I am pretty sure you are just a werewolf," Beta Jones said with a smirk making the rest of us chuckle.
