Chapter 59: Chapter 59
Third POV.
“What are the elders doing here and there is no meeting today?” Aiden asked with a frown on his face.
The others were also confused because nothing was making sense.
Simon took Aiden’s action as he was afraid of getting caught. He sneered inwardly as he waited to watch what he will do or how he will be able to get away from the lycans rule.
“I am the one who called them here,” he said, making everyone look at him.
“Why? What are you planning to do now?” the old King asked.
Deep down, he regretted giving the man a chance to prove himself since he has only brought his son sadness and wasted everyone’s time just to get what he wanted. He wished that he had listened to the rest when they warned him not to. But thinking of how things were and the fact that they need someone to take over Josiah’s position.
“What am I planning? I am not planning anything,” Simon answered as he snorted.
“Then why did you call them here? Do you think that everyone is as idle as you are?” the old king asked angrily but Simon just rolled his eyes secretly.
“Let them in. It is not good for elders to wait outside,” Leila said after noticing that they might continue arguing till they forget that there are people waiting outside.
“Okay,” Matteo said as he bowed down before leaving.
“Who do you think you are to give permission to allow them in and why is he bowing down to you when you are just a nobody?” Simon asked in disgust.
“Just because you have to bow down to those in high seats then you don’t mean you speak to others in that tone,” Leila replied to him, disdain evident in her eyes.
“You! You have no right to speak back at me! Know your place,” Simon said angrily, making the others roll their eyes.
“Simon, is that how you talk to the future queen of our land?” Elijah's voice came out as he neared the living room.
Hearing this, Simon bit his lower lip and looked down but after a second he wondered why he was behaving that way when he had not done anything wrong.
“She? The future queen? What can she even do other than serving the king in bed?” Simon retorted, making everyone speechless and angrily.
Before anyone got a chance to talk, Amanda said, “ Seems that that’s only what your mate does. But I forgot that you are not a king thus your woman doesn’t know anything else apart from that.”
Simon was so mad when he heard that. He wanted to retort or even cuss at her but when he remembered the position she held, he remained silent.
“You! Simon, you are becoming shameless and out of hand as time passes by. If you don’t watch what you say then I will file for a petition to get you out of the board of council. After all, Josiah is even back and I am sure that he can’t refuse that,” the old king angrily.
“You can’t take away my position just for a mere werewolf like her. I am sure that she isn’t capable of winning a battle in the field,” Simon replied immediately.
“She isn’t just any werewolf, Simon! She is…” Lisa attempted disclosing Leila’s identity but Matthew closed her mouth with her palm making Simon curious what she wanted to say and Matthew didn’t want him to know.
“Who she is doesn’t matter. The Moon Goddess chose her to be our queen and she will be thus you better start being respectful towards her if you don’t want to be punished according to the law,” Matthew saw getting the approval of the others present.
Seeing their character and how they were protecting her as they tried to curry favor with her, Simon sneered as he started thinking of how they will be behaving when he succeeds in his plan.
“You came here and called them here but you are just wasting our time. Don’t you know that we haven’t had the chance to have breakfast since you arrived early in the morning?” Aiden said coldly.
“My daughter told me that she is coming for a sleepover here but they claim that she isn’t here. I wonder where they have taken my daughter,” Simon said, making the elders angry.
“You made us stop whatever we were doing just for this? Are you serious?” Mike asked.
“ I thought that someone from your family had died and you wanted us to help you with the burial procedures,” Lisa said, making everyone apart from Simon chuckle.
“You are cursing at my family?” Simon asked angrily but Lisa only rolled her eyes.
“You really can’t blame me! After all, wasn’t there a fight and a huge earthquake a day ago? Thus, the possibility that someone in your family dies is high,” she replied calmly, making the elders shake their heads at her guts to say that on his face.
The youngsters were proud of Lisa and admired her even more. Even though she was not as wise as Amanda, it seemed that she had her charms and other sweet characters
“Your family is the one going to die, not mine!” he shouted, making them laugh at his angry and fierce look.
“You better tell us why you called us here or we are going to leave and when we meet next, we will arrange a punishment for you,” Amanda coldly as she was getting tired of him.
“My daughter really came for a sleepover hee,” he insisted.
“Since you say so. Then who was she visiting since this is not a place where any tom and jerry can get in,” Elijah said.
The youngsters were amused at his last words but did not dare speak or raise their voice afraid of distracting the good show in front of them.
“Aurora,” he answered, making the elders frown as they knew that the two girls never got along.
They wondered what the man was up to.
“Simon. You know the consequences of lying. You are one of us but due to greed you go to all the lengths to send your daughter here for…”
