Chapter 107: Chapter 107
Third POV.
“Where do you think you are taking him?” Aiden asked as he stood in front of his sister blocking her way.
“Aiden, you better get out of my way! If you can’t take care of your mate then there are people who are willing to do so! They will actually treat her better than you do,” Aurora retorted angrily and loudly, making everyone in the palace hear her.
“Is she nuts? What is she planning now?” Eric asked as he had locked himself up together with Matteo.
“Aurora can become crazy and stubborn if she wants. From her angry shoutings, it seems that Aiden does want to help Leila. I just pity her,” Matteo said as he shook his head.
“Aurora you should stop provoking me before I lose control,” Aiden warned her coldly as he gritted his teeth.
“What are you going to do if I won’t stop, huh? If you want me to give up on saving Leila you should kill me! In that way, you will lose both of us. You will be alone living alone as a wizard! I am also sure that if something happens to Lela because of your pride and indifference, you won’t be able to keep that position you are always brought on! You may even become an omega. Thinking of it makes me want to laugh,” Aurora said loudly then started laughing.
Aiden stood still and continued staring at her as if he could just kill her with a glare.
Her words sounded like the words his wolf had told him, making his face and eyes turn colder.
“Aurora, you shouldn’t push your luck,” Aiden said coldly, making Aurora stop laughing and glanced at him.
“You are always selfish! It seems that dad was your family and I am not! Since he was kidnapped, you never care about anything or anyone, even me, your sister! All you care about is trying to get dad. If you aren’t careful you will also lose me. Be sure of it,” Aurora said as she shed tears as she remembered how cold her brother had become even to her.
Seeing her crying, Aiden felt a sharp pain in his heart. He knew that he had hurt her so much in the past few days but he didn’t know how to express himself. He wanted to speak and say something but he couldn’t bring himself to.
If it were in the past, he could have been able but now, he just wouldn't it was as if he had become another person. He had become cold and aloof.
Seeing his look but not hearing anything from him, even an apology, Aurora shook her head.
“Seems what I said is true. If you don’t see me as your sister then I will gladly help you get rid of me. I am going to give you half an hour. If you do go and mate with Leila to relieve and save her then be aware that I will never be your sister ever again. I will cut ties with you! I will ask Elana and Marcus to go back to their pack and both Leila and I will follow them. You will lose us in thirty minutes if you don’t man up!“ Aurora said coldly as she looked deep in his eyes before turning around.
“You can go back. If I need you I will summon for you,” Aurora said as she glanced at the guard.
“Yes my princess,” the guard said as he bowed to both of them.
Watching him leaving, Aurora turned around and gave Aiden a cold glance before pushing him aside and passing him as she ran upstairs.
Aiden looked at her figure till it got out of his sight.
He sat on the stairs and ran his hands on his head as he wondered whether he had really messed up.
“Mom, I am sorry I didn’t keep my promise. She is so mad at me because of how I have been behaving. Do you think she still knows how much I love her and will always be there for her as her big brother?” Aiden asked in a low tone as his eyes stared at his mother’s portrait.
“I have been so busy looking for dad that I forgot that she only has me now as her family. Will she listen to my explanations? Will she forgive me when I ask for her forgiveness?” He continued talking but now, he had tears in eyes threatening to escape.
“Is what they say true? That dad would be disappointed when he discovers how I have been treating Leila and behaving? Are you also disappointed in me?” He asked as his greatest fear was disappointing his parents regardless of where they were.
He was so engrossed in his mother’s portrait that he didn’t hear anyone approaching.
Jordan heard all those questions and frowned. Although Aiden had made a mistake and they were angry and disappointed in him, he was still their best friend and he didn’t want to see him suffer.
He silently sat beside him and looked at the portrait on the wall.
“Yes, you have disappointed us all. Do you know how Leila has been working hard so as to be stronger and go save your father and the other elders that were kidnapped? Do you think you are the only suffering Aiden because of the old King’s disappearances?” Jordan asked in a low tone but calmly.
Aiden turned his head and looked at him after hearing his voice.
“Do you know that she begged her grandfather to give us gifts according to the gifts the rogues have been given by their enemy? Do you know he also sent the rogues fighting tactics so as to come up with ideas to fight back when fighting the enemies? You just see a smiling person and you think that she is happy. Let me tell you the truth, she isn’t! She is always hurting when you speak to her coldly and rudely. She wants to see you happy but you want to see her dead. Wake up and go save her so that we can continue practising as it is delaying us from saving the people who were kidnapped!” Jordan said loudly and angrily before standing up and leaving.
