Chapter 34: Chapter 34

The ray of light shined so brightly on my face that I had to rise. Elmira wasn't by my side and she wasn't in the room, either. I tried to recall what had happened last night but as much as I try, I ended up with a strong headache. Although I couldn't remember much; aside from taking the deer's blood mom sent, the clothes on the couch, and the stain on the bed, gave me all the information I needed. I hissed. I can't believe I lost full control of myself. What will she see me as, now?. I groaned and stood up from the bed. I dragged off the bedsheet and went to the bathroom. Elmira wasn't there either. I had to do a little bit of washing before taking my bath. I got dressed in black jeans and a white shirt. Checking the time, it was some minutes past 7 am. Just the perfect time to go for a stroll and clear my head. I left my room and went to the car park. Without raising any alarm, I entered the car and droved out of the territory.

I had to drive, far away from the territory. I located a nice shade and sat down. Mom won't be out now and Lord Raymond won't raise an alarm, until evening. I don't think Elmira is in the Island territory, also. Maybe she has gone to mom's coven. I rolled my eyes. No, she will be in school. How will she feel?. Isn't she going to be feeling pains, right now?. I hissed and relaxed my back on the tree. I closed my eyes, trying to reminisce what had happened the previous night. I need to know, so I can tell how much damage I'd caused. It took a while but I was able to remember a bit of it. I needed to know more and I suspected the deer's blood must have caused it. I went back to the packhouse and went straight to my room, ignoring the greetings from the guards. Luckily for me, the bottle was still on the table. I took it to the healer to see if she might have an idea and be able to explain it better.

She wasn't home when I got there. I had to wait for her to come, cause I needed an answer so desperately. When she came back, she apologized before attending to me. I gave her the bottle and asked her if she could find out if there's any substance, aside from the deer's blood. After some time, she walked up to me. "My lord, there's a high rate of alcohol in it"

I furrowed my brows. "I'm a vampire, I can't take alcohol right?. It shouldn't affect me?"

"You're a hybrid, my lord. Taking alcohol is supposed to help you suppress your blood lust"

I rolled my eyes. "Then why do I lose control?"

"I'll have to check your blood, my lord. I just need a bit of your blood". I sighed and stretched my hand. She pierced me with a needle. She left and came back later. "You've got extreme alcohol, in your system my lord"

I hissed. Mom!!. "Is that the reason I lost control?"

She nodded. I stood up. I need to go see mom!!

**

When I got to the throne room, my mom was seated on the throne. "Good to see you, Damien. I've been expecting you"

I furrowed my brows. "You knew I was coming?"

She chuckled. "If the deer's blood did the right job, I knew you would come"

I hissed and sat down. "Why are you doing all this?"

"I need a grandchild. You weren't attempting to give me one soon,  so I helped you"

I hissed. "Mom!!"

She chuckled. "Don't act like you never wanted it"

I groaned. "I don't, you forced me into it"

"You should have controlled your urge if you don't want it". I hissed and stood up. I shouldn't be having this conversation. I made for the door. "You're leaving already?". I ignored her and walked out of the throne room. "I should be expecting good news soon, son" she yelled.

I entered my car and drove back to the Island territory. It was past 3 pm when I got back to the packhouse. I couldn't go to the room. Elmira might be there. I went straight to my office to sit down. I did a little bit of work. I realized I haven't feed today and I don't even have the urge to do that. I was still going through some paper works when the door opened. Elmira walked in but froze when she saw me. She chuckled. "Sorry, I never knew you were back". I batted my lashes. Why is she acting like everything is well?.

"Are you ok?" I asked. She furrowed her brows. "I mean the pain?"

"I'm fine, as you can see". I noticed she was trying to avoid my gaze. I stood up and walked up to her

"Why are you acting like all is well? Huh?"

She furrowed her brows. "Of course, all is well"

I scoffed. Just imagine?. I've been so restless, feeling like I've hurt her or something but here she is, behaving like, nothing happened. "You can't remember, last night?"

She ignored me and walked past me. She picked up a document. "I'll just go with this"

I rolled my eyes. Is she kidding me? "Are you trying to avoid this talk? Huh?"

She sighed. "There's nothing to talk about, Damien"

"What?". She walked out of the office without saying anything. That got me aggravated. I hissed and punched the wall. "Shit!!" I cursed. She made me look like a fool, worrying over nothing. I spaced around the room, angrily. I think I know what to do. I won't bother about her or anybody again!!.

**

I have decided to leave the room for Elmira. I should have done that a long time ago. I hate the silent treatment she's giving me. Anytime I tried to bring up what had happened between us that night. She gets angry and flare-up. So to avoid my questions, she spends lesser time in the room. Right no, I'm getting ready to leave. Maya was seated on the couch with me, while we watch Gary arrange my bags. She pouted. "Do you have to leave?"

I rolled my eyes and nodded. "I need lots of privacy"

She rolled her eyes. "Are you sure that's the reason, you're leaving?". I nodded. "Why do I have this feeling you might be lying?"

I groaned. "I'm not lying, ok?. That's the reason"

"And you're sure you're cool with my sister?". I nodded. "I think you both are hiding things from me". I rolled my eyes. "When I asked her why she spends more time outside your room. She said she needed some privacy. What I don't get is if your room isn't big enough for privacy?"

I rolled my eyes. "You can't understand, Maya"

"Then make me understand"

"It's adult business, ok?"

She groaned. "What if I can help?"

I shook my head. "You can't"

She hissed. "I think you both are just been childish. If you can't settle just a little dispute now, what will you do when you start having children?"

I hissed. Children?. Hell no!!. I rolled my eyes. Maya doesn't understand anything. She... "I'm done, my lord" Gary said, jerking me out of my thought.

I nodded. "Take them to the room"

He bowed. "Ok, my lord". He picked up the bags and left the room.

"I think you both should act mature and settle your differences"

I rolled my eyes. I'm getting bored already and I need to end this conversation. But how?. Maya doesn't give up easily, just like her sister. I thought for a while and came up with a good idea. "Maya, I think we should stop talking about that and go have fun". She hissed and I chuckled. "What if I buy you a cup of milkshake and fries for a start and then we can go watch a movie at the cinema"

She rolled her eyes. "Are you trying to bribe me?"

I chuckled. "I will get you popcorn too"

She chuckled. "This is bribery"

I rolled my eyes. "Are you game?". She placed her hand beneath her jaw, thinking for a while. "I might change my mind"

She chuckled. "Of course, I'm game"

I sighed. Thank goodness!!
