Chapter 27: Chapter 27

It's been two days now that Elmira had voluntarily left the Island pack with Arden. Mom found out about Elmira's leaving or rather disappearance as mom called it. She was so furious and blamed me for my incompetence. She said it has always been my dream to get rid of her and asked me if I was satisfied giving her out to a Voltra. Like it was my fault. She was pacing around while I sat on the couch. "It's not my fault she agrees to leave with him?"

Mom hissed. "She's your mate for carrying out loud"

I rolled my eyes. "She rejected me, remember?"

"You rejected her first"

"And when I wanted her back what did she do?. She rejected me. I don't see my fault here"

She groaned. "You're only trying to justify yourself. I can't be fooled"

I rolled my eyes. "Mom, he called her his mate, and she..."

"Just shut the hell up. There's nothing you can say to justify, yourself"

I groaned. "You need to hear me out first, mon"

She hissed. "I won't hear you out. I don't believe what you said either. You're only trying to cover up your wrong. But hear me, mister. For as long as she's out there, you can't be justified"

I groaned. Why is mom making things difficult for me? I have to face Maya and then her. And the worst thing is that everything to make me come out clean proved abortive. Mom wouldn't even listen to my part of the story. All she knows and believes is that I'm the cause of her going away. I've been trying everything I could to make mom understand that she left the pack of her free will.

I couldn't go to the Voltas coven either. Why should I go there?. It wasn't like she was forced to leave. She left by herself. I hissed. Mom is just been harsh. She walked up to me. "You'd better go in search of her and make sure she agrees to come back here"

"Mom!!"

"Don't make me repeat myself". I groaned. She isn't been fair at all.  At the end of our discussion, mom gave me two days to bring her back. After mom left, I became frustrated and confused at the same time. It wasn't my fault that she left Island pack. I groaned and stood up. The only reason I'm going in search of her is because of Maya, not my mom.

I went to take my bath and then dressed in leather pants and denim; all black. These days, I've come to love black. I paired it with blue sneakers. Giving the last touch to my hair, I left my room and went to the car park. It's time to go visit the Voltas once more.

I brought the car to a halt, just a few meters away from the Voltras' territory, and stepped out. I decided to go alone just in case the worst comes to worst. I know taking her out of their territory will not be without a fight. I had to walk the rest. When I got close, some vampires were on guard. They wanted to question me but when they saw my face, they bowed. "I'm sorry, my lord"

I rolled my eyes. Who won't fear the all-mighty Damien who kills without mercy? I hissed. "Move!!"

They scurried away quickly and I walked in fully into their territory. I went straight to Arden's place. He came outside to meet me. He laughed. I hissed. I still wonder why he laughs instead of smiling. "Good to see again, Damien"

I rolled my eyes. "I'm not here to exchange words with you. Bring her out"

He laughed. "That isn't your choice to make"

I scoffed. "I didn't come all the way here to let her make a decision. I come to take her away". He laughed and I hissed. My anger was building up already. His laughs alone could make you want to rip off his head. "Any more laugh from you and I will rip your head off"

He laughed and then clapped his hands. "Perfect. Wouldn't it be nice for our .ate to see the beast you are? Huh?"

I hissed. "She isn't our mate?"

He laughed again. I didn't bother exchanging words with him. I rushed to him and held him by his neck. He kept laughing, rekindling my anger. I tighten my grip on his neck. He coughed out blood. "A... Are you... Are you angry you got rejected?. That... That she chose me over you? Huh?"

I released my grip on him and landed a punch on his face, which sent him flying. He groaned. People were already gathering but none dared came close. "Repeat what you said"

His face was already red like an overripe tomato. He spits out blood. "You... You're a loser, Damien"

I rushed to him and made to hit him but someone held my hand. It was Elmira. "Haven't you make a fool of yourself enough". My eyes widen. I pull off my hand off hers. "Look at the scene you've created"

I hissed. I'm here to save her and she's talking to me without respect. "You don't talk to me like that"

She scoffed. "This isn't Island pack where you rule as an Alpha and neither is it the Miran coven where your mother is the queen. You have no place here. You'd better leave"

I batted my lashes. There is something wrong. I can feel it but I don't know what it is. She talks with confidence and yet I could depict fear. Her mouth speaks rudely but her eyes give a different meaning. "You ain't the one talking and taking you out of here". I made to touch her but she pushed my hand away.

"You have no place here, leave"

I hissed. "You're going with me, that's final!!"

"You have no right over me, ok?"

I rolled my eyes. "He has no right over you too"

"He didn't reject me and I didn't reject him too"

I hissed. Really?. "He hasn't marked you. He doesn't have a right over you. You're leaving with me". I tried to hold her but she moved backward.

Arden laughed. "Ain't you ashamed of yourself. Going after someone who doesn't love you. Someone who has rejected you"

I rushed towards him and punched him. This time it was harder. Elmira screamed. "Stop. Just stop!!"

I hissed and grabbed her. "You're leaving with me!!"

I could hear Arden laugh. "Before you leave, I like you to hear this" Arden said. I ignored him and kept moving. "We've mated already". I froze. Did he just said they've mated?. I turned. My eyes were already changing colors. And he laughed. "I just haven't marked her. Every other thing has been done"

I turned to look at her. She looked so scared and she kept shaking her head. I groaned. What's the point of taking her back when she has slept with him already?. Arden laughed. "You lose, Damien. You're a loser"

I laughed. "I don't take defeat. Now watch me take her away from you, completely". I pinned her to the wall. She tried pushing me away but she couldn't. I turned her face to the side and pushed her hair to the side. She groaned. My fangs were out already. I bent down a bit and finally deep my fangs into her tender skin. She screamed and people gasped. This was my first time tasting human blood and I couldn't control myself. She tried pushing me away but I was stronger.

People began to whisper. "He's going to kill her". I got hold of myself and pulled out. She was about to fall but I held her. Her eyes began to close slowly until she lost consciousness. I lift her and turned in Arden's direction.

"She ceases to be yours, Arden. She is now fully mine!!. If you come anywhere close to her, I will feed you to the dogs"

He laughed. "You've drunk human blood, Damien. Let's see how long you can resist her". I didn't understand what he meant by those words. I decided to ignore him. I left their territory and went back to the Island pack.
