Chapter 22: Chapter 22

I still don't understand why mom told lord Raymond that. She knows have rejected her already and there is no way I'm taking her back. I sighed and went back to sit down on the couch. "I'm done, my lord" Gary announced. I nodded and stood up to see if everything was intact. After confirming it was, I walked back to sit on the couch.

"You should take the bags to the car"

He bowed. "Ok, my lord". He dragged the bags outside the room and I sighed. I went into the bathroom to take my bath. And then get dressed in blue pants and a white shirt. I was combing my hair when I heard a soft knock. I knew it was Maya. I flip the door open with my hand without turning. "Ain't you suppose to be getting ready?" I asked

She chuckled. "I'm kinda confused on something. And I need your help"

"Ok?"

"Are you done?"

I nodded. "Just a few more touches and I'll be done"

She chuckled. "Turn around and tell me which dress you prefer". I rolled my eyes and turned. She was holding a black sleeveless gown and a blue one. "I'll place it on the bed, so you could choose"

I nodded. She spread them differently. I stared at the two for a while, contemplating which is nice. I decided to settle for the black. "Hmmm. I think the black will look perfect on you" she chuckled and walked closer to me.

"Are you for real?". I nodded. She rolled her eyes. "Elmira is right" she murmured

"Elmira?" I asked and she nodded. "What did she say?"

She chuckled. "You see, I wanted to pick the blue one but Elmira told me you will like the black. I said no but I can see she's right"

I blinked my eyes. "Elmira told you that?"

She nodded. "We were arguing about what color you like best. I told her, you love blue but she said it's black". I rolled my eyes. "What's your best color?"

I groaned. Is she been serious?. I don't have the best color!!. "I don't have the best color"

She furrowed her brows. "You don't?"

I nodded and she smiled. "I think you do now"

I narrowed my eyes. "Which Is?"

She smiled. "Black"

I shook my head. "No, you choose blue for me, I'll pick blue as my best color"

She chuckled and turned. "Nah, black it is. I'll go get dressed"

Watching her leave the room, I smiled. I faced the mirror and gave the last touch to my hair. I look at the room for the last time. I'll so much miss this room. I'll miss my life here. My painting. Wait!!. I didn't carry any of my painting equipment. I rolled my eyes and walked out of the room. I went to the studio. The door was opened. I furrowed my brows. Who could be there?. Mom is the only one with the spare key. I decided to find out. I entered to see Elmira. She was busy arranging some stuff into a bag. I walked closer to her. "What the hell are you doing?!" I yelled

She jumped and lost her balance in the process. I got her right in time. I stared into her eyes. Her ragdoll cat blue eyes, shined brightly. She batted her long lashes, trying to avoid my gaze. Her lips were pink and plump. Someone coughed from behind and I regained consciousness. It was then I realized I must have been lost in deep thought, staring at her.  She wiggled herself off my hand. "Sorry" she cooed

I rolled my eyes. I'm getting used to her not calling me her lord. I turned to see who it was. Mom was smiling sheepishly. I groaned. "Wrong timing" she cooed and walked out of the room.

An awkward silence returned. Elmira tried as much as she can to keep her gaze away from me. I sighed. I couldn't cope with the silence, so I decided to speak up. "What are you doing here?"

She looked down and rubbed her hands together.  "I was thinking you might need them, so I collected the spare key from the Queen to help you pack them". I furrowed my brows. Did she it that at her free will? Or mom asked her?. I'm very sure she won't do that on her own. Mom would have pushed her into doing it. "I'm sorry if I trespassed. I'll just leave," she said.

I hissed. "And who do you expect to finish up the work you've started? Huh?"

She sighed. "I'll just finish up then"

"You should be fast about it". She nodded. I left the studio and bumped into Maya on the way. "Hey, where are you going to?"

She chuckled. "I was coming to the studio to see you. I checked you in the room but you weren't there. The Queen told me you are in the studio with Elmira"

I groaned. Mom!!!. "I'm here now"

She smiled. "My dress"

I checked her out and smiled. "Wow, it looks good on you". The black dress was a sleeveless one, which stops below her knees.

"You like it?". I nodded and she smiled. "I'm happy you like it"

Elmira walked past us with a bag. Maya smiled. "Isn't she cute?"

I rolled my eyes.  "Let's go". We went outside together to the car park. Gary was waiting for us already. He bowed. I entered the same car with Maya, while Elmira entered the other car with Gary. Mom came to say her goodbyes before we finally drove out.

The packhouse was filled with people. Lord Raymond showed us to our rooms. Amaya will be staying with Elmira. I walked into their room to make sure it was comfortable enough. "Do you like it, Maya?"

She chuckled. "I do. Thank you"

She hugged me and I smiled. Elmira stared at me, but look away quickly. I rolled my eyes and released Maya from the hug. "Go take your bath, eat and rest. I'll show you around"

She smiled. "Just me or both of us?" She whispered

I groaned. "You want to go with your sister?". She nodded. "If that's what you want, I'll go with her too"

She chuckled. "Thank you. Can we play games before you leave?"

I smiled. "Maya..."

"Amaya, that's enough. You should let him rest" Elmira said

I raised my head to look at her but she looked away. Maya pouted. "He isn't complaining"

I smiled. "Yes, I'm not. But you need rest, ok"

She saddens her face. "Ok"

I chuckled. "We will, when you rest well"

She stretched out her pinky finger. "Pinky promise?"

I used my pinky finger to hold hers. "Pinky promise"

She chuckled. "I believe you"

I nodded. "Go, meet your sister"

She waved at me and went to meet Elmira who was staring at nothing in particular. I sighed and left the room. I walked back to my room to take my bath and get dressed in simple shorts and a shirt.

Amaya was enrolled in the werewolf high school while Elmira was enrolled in college since she was done with high school, already. It was morning already, and Maya was dressed and ready for school. I got dressed in black pants and a black shirt. "Maya, let's go"

She nodded. "But what about Elmira?"

I rolled my eyes. "She will find her way"

She pouted. "That isn't fair"

I rolled my eyes. "Maya.."

"You can drop her at school"

"Maya..."

"Please"

I sighed. "Ok, go get her"

She chuckled and jump on me. "Thanks"

I smiled. "Go, before I change my mind"
