Chapter 174: Chapter 174

[A few moments earlier...]

"OUR HEE-ya is scheduled to have a script reading with the main cast of her new drama— and Park Ruda will be there."

Soobin heard what Geon said, but he was too bummed to react.

He seldom sulked, but he couldn’t help it after having a fight with Wonhee.

Hence, here he was now— lying on his husband’s lap while pouting.

"Don’t you think this is the perfect opportunity for us to confront Park Ruda?" Geon asked while holding a computer tablet in one hand, and brushing Soobin’s hair with the other. And then his husband looked down at him. "Are you listening, Soobin-ah?"

"I am," Soobin said, sighing. "But I’m too sad to think about anything else. This is the first time that Hee-ya got upset with me and Semi Noona for real."

"It’s normal for siblings to fight. Just give our Hee-ya time to cool her head."

"Should I apologize? It’s been days since our fight..."

"Later. Give her space for now."

"Was I in the wrong, Geon-ah?"

Geon fell silent for a moment before opening his mouth. "I do agree that the easiest way to solve the problem with the Virus is to sacrifice Gong Yool. But I understand why our Hee-ya is upset with our decision. Did you expect her to agree with our decision just because our little sister is kind and generous?"

"I mean, it’s just a small price to pay for world peace..."

"It’s a small price to pay for us," Geon said, sighing while shaking his head. "What if the System asked you to sacrifice me—"

"Don’t be ridiculous, Geon-ah— I’ll never do that."

"Then why do we expect our Hee-ya to sacrifice Gong Yool for the world?"

"It’s different. You’re my husband and the love of my life. Gong Yool is just a friend to our Hee-ya."

Geon let out a sigh. "If our Hee-ya heard that, she’d cut off all her ties with you."

"Then maybe think before you speak?"

"Why are you scolding me?"

"Because you’re being really greedy and insensitive right now, Yeon Soobin," Geon said sternly. "I did agree that sacrificing Gong Yool was the easy way out. However, I never agreed that we should force our Hee-ya to sacrifice her best friend. As selfish as it may sound, I care more about our Hee-ya’s feelings than the safety of the world."

Yool couldn’t say anything back. Geon would never understand why he was in a hurry— why he wanted to choose the easy way out. After all, his husband didn’t know about the existence of the ’previous world.’

To be fair, he didn’t know much about what happened to that world before the ’reset.’

But he knew about the secret of Wonhee’s birth and the Lucky Star.

[HUNTER YEON SOOBIN, you’re being summoned by the System! In 5, 4, 3...]

"Geon-ah, the System is summoning me," Soobin said, closing his eyes as his eyelids suddenly felt heavy. "Don’t worry once I faint..."

"HONEY, why do you look upset?" Semi asked worriedly, sitting on the armrest of her husband’s seat. And then she wrapped an arm around Seon Chang-ho’s shoulders. "You had a phone call with your older brother, didn’t you?"

Her husband’s older brother would be the current chairman of SC Foods.

[It’s the conglomerate that supports Hunter Hamin and the Fall Guild.]

"My heartless hyung-nim intends to declare his missing daughter dead soon," Chang-ho said, sighing. "His daughter has gone missing eight years ago. But he never really did anything to find her— and now he wants to declare her dead. My poor niece..."

Semi rubbed her husband’s shoulder.

[I only met my husband’s niece a few times since my husband isn’t really accepted in the Seon Family as he is an illegitimate child. But I remember that my husband’s niece is the only family member who treated him kindly.]

Hence, she understood why her husband was this upset.

"Don’t worry, honey," Semi assured her husband. "We will never stop looking for your precious niece. I will mobilize more people to search for her."

Chang-ho looked up at her and gave her a relieved smile. "Thank you, honey. And I’m sorry for making you use your Hunters just to look for my niece."

"Don’t say that. Your niece was the only family member who treated you with kindness and respect. I’ll use all my resources to find her as a token of gratitude for taking care of my husband."

Her husband looked touched. "I know I’ve said it many times already, but I’m really grateful to you, honey."

"Enough about me," her husband said, and then he caressed her cheek with a worried look on his face. "Have you made up with our Hee-ya yet? It’s been days already since you last talked to each other in person."

Semi let out a sigh. "Not yet. But I’m thinking of buying a house for her as an apology."

"Honey, you can’t apologize using material things. And I’m pretty sure our Hee-ya can buy herself a house."

Of course, she knew that her husband was right.

But this was the first time Wonhee really got mad at them. Hence, she didn’t know what to do other than shower her baby sister with gifts.

[HUNTER JANG SEMI, you’re being summoned by the System! In 5, 4, 3...]

"Honey, don’t be surprised if I faint," Semi said as she was starting to lose consciousness. "I’m fine— the System just summoned me."

"SO, that was how you got here," Yejun said after hearing how Soobin and Semi got there. "Hyung, Noona, how’s my Wonhee?"

Soobin and Semi both flinched.

"Did you bully Wonhee?"

Of course, Soobin and Semi both glared at Yejun.

"Why would we bully our Hee-ya?" Soobin asked, scoffing at Yejun’s question. "We just had a little argument."

"It’s normal for siblings to fight sometimes," Semi added as if she was guilty or something. "But it’s none of your business, Hwang Yejun."

"Although it’s true that it’s normal for siblings to fight, don’t you think you two are too old to be picking on your baby sister?"

Again, Soobin and Semi glared at Yejun.

Yejun raised his hands in surrender and changed his question. "How long was I out? I can’t tell the time here."

"Today is the fifth day since you’ve been unconscious," Semi said indifferently. "The System assured our Hee-ya that you’re safe. But, of course, she’s still worried about you."

He couldn’t believe he was stuck there for three days already while ’absorbing’ the ’data’ that the System wanted to store in his head.

[I hate making Wonhee worry, but I’m glad to hear she cares about me that much.]

"My husband must be worried sick about me now, so let’s keep this short," Soobin said, and then he turned to the talking orange. "Why did you summon us here?"

"The System has already revealed to Hwang Yejun the fact that you know about Chu Wonhee’s origin," the talking orange said. "Now the System wants you to tell Hwang Yejun about the other thing you know."

"We don’t really know everything," Semi said, pausing for a moment. "But, when Soobin and I awakened nine years ago, we both had a vision."

"It was a vision where we saw our Hee-ya sacrificing herself to ’reset’ the world, but that’s all— we didn’t see anyone else so, we also didn’t know who the enemies or the allies from the previous world were," Soobin added in a serious tone. "All we know is our Hee-ya saved the world, and she might have to do it again this time. That’s why we’re being overprotective of her— we don’t want her to sacrifice herself again."

"Damn right. I won’t let Wonhee give up her life for the sake of the world again," Yejun said firmly. "Now, Hyung and Noona, tell me— tell me about Chu Wonhee’s birth and the things you know about the Lucky Star."

Soobin and Semi exchanged looks before sighing.

The things Yejun learned about the Lucky Star and the secret of Wonhee’s birth was... appalling, to say the least.

[Does this damned System hate my Wonhee or something?!]

Saeron Life Insurance.

Lumino (the best Korean colored contact lenses brand).

Adea (the world’s leading luxury professional haircare brand).

Wonhee had either a photo shoot or a commercial film for the brands mentioned above— further cementing her status as South Korea’s most sought-after actress at the moment

In fact, she gained another title recently.

She had been in several commercial films these days, and each CF of hers had gone viral.

[I was supposed to fly to Paris for my schedule, but APA refuses to let me travel outside Korea after our country was threatened by the World Rankers. Hence, the brands traveled to Korea instead to work with me.]

And she preferred it that way.

[I don’t think I can leave the country while Yejun is still unconscious.]

"Wony-ah, you really don’t have to do this..."

Wonhee smiled and shook her head. "It’s alright, Yool-ah. I really want to have a cameo in your music video. I’m both a fan of you and Maru-ssi."

Yool asked her if she could appear in the music video he was filming with Maru.

Of course, Wonhee agreed since she wanted to help her friend.

"Thank you, Wony-ah," Yool said, smiling. "And thank you for doing this for free. The production can’t afford your talent fee, so we’re really grateful."

"I’m not doing this for ’free,’" Wonhee said teasingly. "I asked you to a portion of the music video’s revenue to the foundations I support, didn’t I?"

"My Wonhee is really kind and generous~"

But before Wonhee could even turn around, familiar arms already wrapped around her waist from behind— pulling her closer to the person hugging her.

"I’ve missed you, Wonhee-ya."

[The brat is finally awake.]

Wonhee felt like she could finally rest now.
