Chapter 144: Chapter 144
"SO, WHAT should we do about Lee Seodam?"
Yejun was still labeled as an X-Class Hunter, so he found it unfair that he had to sit there and have a meeting with the Big 4 again.
It wasn’t like he was going to get paid.
Wonhee was rich RICH, so he should quickly earn money again.
[I need to rebuild my empire in order to spoil Wonhee with all the best and fancy things in life.]
Since they didn’t know what to do with Lee Seodam yet, they just locked up the fake carnivore in the bedroom with Park Ruda.
Do Ahyeon was there to keep an eye on the two, of course.
"I have a suggestion," Yejun said, raising a hand. "Let’s have Graham burn the fake carnivore. His flame works as purification, doesn’t it?"
"Yeah, but I haven’t tried my flame’s purification element on a living person yet," Graham said. "When I burn people, I burn them to ashes. So, I’m not sure if I can control my flame to just purify Lee Seodam and not burn him to death."
Yejun shrugged. "Well, if Lee Seodam gets burned to ashes, then it must be his fate to die by your flame."
Graham, fortunately, looked convinced. "Is that so? Then should I try it?"
Yejun was about to smile triumphantly, but...
"Maybe the kids should stay out of this?" Song Moonho asked Semi with a fake smile on his face. "Semi Noona, I think we can use Lee Seodam to retrieve the authority that we lost to APA when Hwang Frost snapped a year ago."
Yejun couldn’t say anything because it was true that the Big 4’s influence declined because he almost destroyed Korea when he snapped.
"I think I know what you’re thinking, Song Moonho," Semi said, leaning against the seat while crossing her arms over her chest. "This is also the perfect chance for the Winter Guild to be slowly introduced to the public again."
"Hey, I’m the Winter Guild’s Guildmaster," Yejun complained lightly. "Why are Noona and the old man talking about my guild as if I’m not here?"
"Is the Winter Guild’s Guildmaster in the room?" Song Moonho asked. "All I see is a kid that looks like him."
[This old bastard...]
Graham laughed while clutching his stomach. "Old man, that was a good one– aw!"
Yejun smacked the back of Graham’s head.
"Yah, Hwang Yejun! I’m a year older than you!"
"So what?" Yejun retorted. "I’m stronger than you, so you’re the one who should be calling me ’hyung.’"
Semi turned to Song Moonho with a straight face. "These kids are useless." The source of thɪs content is ⓝovelFire.net
"I know," Song Moonho agreed, nodding. "The adults should take the lead this time."
"I’ll call Kwon Jiwoong," Semi said, getting up. "Tell the kids what to do."
Yejun couldn’t believe that he was being treated like an annoying kid at his big age.
[This is Graham’s fault.]
"I JUST need the two of you to shut up," Song Moonho said to the two kids who were still bickering. He didn’t even bother looking at Hwang Yejun and Graham as he was busy with his phone. "Semi and I will lead the conversation. All you need to do is bare your fangs at Kwon Jiwoong every time he disagrees with us."
Hwang Yejun was the tank and Graham was the fighter of the Big 4.
But those two kids were useless when it came to negotiations.
[Hwang Yejun would just resort to threats while Graham would just agree with whatever option could cut the conversation short.]
As expected, some adults under the age of thirty were still children.
"Do you think Kwon Jiwoong would abandon Lee Seodam?"
"Of course he would," Graham said in response to Hwang Yejun’s question. "The old dog is about to end his "vacation," so Kwon Jiwoong would have no use for his new dog anymore."
Moonho, surprised by Hwang Yejun and Graham’s conversation, raised his head. "You two understand what Semi Noon and I are planning to do?"
Hwang Yejun raised an eyebrow. "Old man, we’re not kids."
"We just hate politics, but that doesn’t mean we don’t understand what’s going on," Graham said, laughing. "But we know you and Semi Noona are better at manipulating people, so we’ll just growl at Kwon Jiwoong when needed."
"Why would I growl?" Hwang Yejun complained to Graham. "I only bark for Chu Wonhee."
Graham made a disgusted face, and then he suddenly pulled Hwang Yejun’s hair. "Hey, stop that. Chu Wonhee wouldn’t like it if she heard you say that crap."
Hwang Yejun grabbed a handful of Graham’s hair, too. "Let go of my hair, Han Graham."
Song Moonho just shook his head while ignoring the two kids fight.
[At least they’re just pulling each other’s hair this time and not breaking stuff.]
He didn’t bother stopping the kids from fighting since the two wouldn’t listen anyway.
Moreover, Moonho got busy checking the notifications that kept on popping up in his phone.
The notifications were from his bank.
Someone was making good use of his Black Card.
Appliances that his mansion didn’t need.
Moonho burst out laughing.
[Yool-ssi, you’re adorable.]
LEE SEODAM was still in a state of confusion ever after hearing Park Ruda’s explanation.
[I’m the host of the Virus that wants to kill the System?]
He couldn’t believe it.
Seodam had always wanted to be a Hunter ever since the Outbreak began.
[I’m a hero, so how come the villain chose me to become its host?]
"Seodam, hold my hand," Ruda said, extending his hand to him. "You’re stressed. I could almost hear the Static in your head."
Every time a Hunter was stressed out, the Static would use that opportunity to mess with their mind.
Hence, Seodam held Ruda’s hand.
He felt relieved when his Guide’s soothing aura spread all over his body.
"Don’t worry– the Big 4 won’t kill you," Ruda assured him. "But they’ll use you to lure out the Virus, so be prepared."
"I won’t let the Virus control my body as it pleases," Seodam said firmly. "I–"
He abruptly stopped when his Status Window suddenly popped up in front of him.
[The System wishes to protect Hunter Lee Seodam.
You need Guide Chu Wonhee to purify your body in order to drive away the Virus’ remnants!]
Seodam’s eyes widened a bit. "I need Wonhee...?"
