Chapter 17: Chapter 17
Horrible news greeted Ella early in the morning. The school's atmosphere was quite gloomy, and all of the students wore black shirts to commemorate the death of two students involved in an accident. It's a pity that they died, but death is inevitable.
Ella didn't see Blaze at school. When she went to the classroom, she quickly saw Gwyneth, thinking deeply in the corner. Ella sighed and decided to sit with her. Gwyneth has been kind to her since the beginning, but she was a total bitch to her. It's her time to reciprocate the friendship that Gwyneth kept asking.
"How are you?" Ella slowly asked. Gwyneth was surprised to see her talking to her. She immediately hugged Ella and cried.
"Ella," Gwyneth said and sobbed. Ella hugged her and rubbed his back. She found that the deceased students were Gwyneth's close friends. The classes were canceled, and the students offered a small prayer to the dead.
"Stop crying, already. You'll tire your eye out," Ella comforted Gwyneth. Gwyneth nodded her head and sniffled. "Let's go eat," Ella added. She held Gwyneth's hand and dragged her to the nearest restaurant outside the school. They sat on the corner, and Ella ordered the food seeing Gwyneth was unable to.
"Gwen, please. You have to eat even if it's a small amount," Ella worriedly said. Gwyneth forced a smile began eating the food in front of her.
"Ella, you're here!" Ella turned back and saw Mikael, holding his food while walking towards them. Gwyneth dropped the spoon she was holding and looked at Mikael like she had seen a ghost. She went pale and avoided him. Ella narrowed her eyes at her but said nothing. She smiled at Mikael when he was finally in front of them.
"I was searching for you," Mikael said and took a seat beside Ella. Gwyneth stiffened; she doesn't know where to focus her sight at.
"Ella, thank you for accompanying me. I have to go," Gwyneth suddenly said. Ella pulled her hand and glared at her. Gwyneth gulped; she was secretly trying to remove Ella's hand on her.
"Mikael, this is Gwyneth. She's my friend," Ella muttered. Mikael smiled, but Gwyneth bowed her head.
"Gwen, are you okay?" Ella asked.
"Yes, I'm fine, but I have to go. Nice meeting you, Mikael," Gwyneth said and hurriedly ran towards the restaurant's exit.
"So, Ella. How are you?" Mikael asked and took a spoonful in his mouth. Ella smile and remembered what happened when they were in the library.
"I'm fine," Ella mumbled. "About last time, I'm sorry for what Blaze did," she added apologetically. Mikael chuckled and raised his hand.
"It's nothing. I understand him," Mikael said. "If you are my girlfriend, I will do that too if I saw you with guys," he added and stared at her. Ella could feel her face blushed at Mikael's remarks.
"You're a funny person," Ella mumbled and shook her head. The restaurant was filled with their laughter, and that resulted in forgetting to eat their food.
"Ella!" Blaze's angry voice boomed inside the restaurant. He hurriedly walked to where they are and yanked Ella away. Ella glanced at Mikael and smiled apologetically the second time around. She felt a sense of déjà vu while letting Blaze drag her wherever he wants to go. He let go of Ella's hand when they were far from the restaurant.
"I told you to stay away from him, didn't I?" Blaze said, eyes blazing in anger. Ella flinched and moved away from him. "Fuck, Ella! Can't you see that man likes you, not just a friend!" he added. He was fuming in anger. The blaze had a lot on his mind, and that scene welcomed him.
"My god, Blaze! You're impossible!" Ella shouted. "I'm not going to stay away from him because he's my friend! Can't you understand that!?" she added, annoyed. Blaze harshly grabbed her hand; his wolf wants to get out and claim her this instant.
"You are going to stay away from him. You got it!?" Blaze commanded.
"No, Blaze. Don't order me around. I hate you," Ella spat before walking away from him. She tried her best to control her tears while Blaze kept calling her name. She kept on walking without looking back. It was their first fight after being in the relationship.
"What happened, my child?" Elisa asked, seeing her daughter's sad face. Ella shook her head and kissed her mother's cheeks. She excused herself and went straight to her room. She's still pissed at Blaze. Suddenly, images of a wolf flashed through her mind. It was the wolf she found in the forest.
"I need to talk to wolfy. I hope he's out there," Ella whispered to herself. She grabbed her jacket that was hanging on the table and went out of the room.
"Mom! I'm going out," Ella yelled. She didn't wait for her mother's response and went out through the house's back door. Ella shivered when the cold air touched her skin. She quickly wore the jacket she brought to ease the coldness she was feeling.
With her hands freezing, Ella went to the forest to find the wolf. She didn't fail and quickly saw the wolf sitting on the tree where they first met. Ella kneeled and picked a little stone. She threw it at the wolf's location. The wolf viciously growled, but when he saw Ella, he purred. Ella couldn't help but chuckle. It was like the wolf had an instant change of personality whenever he sees her. Ella sat beside her.
"How are you, wolfy?" Ella asked while rubbing his fur. The wolf purred once again. "You know Blaze, right?" she asked. The wolf looked at her and whimpered and lay his head on her lap.
"We had a fight, and I'm still pissed at him for saying those things," Ella said. She laughs a little, thinking she's finally going crazy while talking to a wolf beside her. Suddenly, two large wolves emerged from the bushes. One was black, and the other one is brown. The wolf whom Ella called wolfy stood a protected stance in front of her and growled at them. Ella trembled in fear behind. She wanted to run but she couldn't.
The black wolf was the first to lunge at wolfy, but wolfy dodged it and bit his neck. The black wolf whimpered and fell to the ground. Wolfy bit the black wolf again, ending its life while looking viciously at the remaining wolf. The brown wolf growled loudly, causing Ella to flinch. He jumped at wolfy did the same. They were fighting mid-air. When they landed, wolfy pinned him to the ground and snapped its neck, killing him in the process.
Ella was horrified. She was trembling real hard witnessing the scene. She heard bones cracking and then suddenly there was a man standing in wolfy's place. Ella thought her eyes were deceiving her, but no. With her weakened knees, she stood up, tears streaming down her eyes. Ella knew the man in front of him. The person she loves once again betrayed her; she trusted him with all her heart.
"Ella, please let me explain," Blaze slowly said while trying to reach for Ella's hand.
"Stop! Don't come near me," Ella said, her voice cracking. She harshly wiped the tears falling from her eyes. "What are you?" she added quietly.
"Ella, please, you need to listen to me," Blaze begged, his voice breaking. He kneeled on the ground, pain crossed in his beautiful eyes. Ella shook her head. It was too much for her. Being repeatedly lied to was what she loathed the most, and Blaze did it.
"Stay the hell away from me, Blaze. You're a monster!" Ella shouted and ran back to the house with yet again, another broken heart.
