“Do your worst. If you don’t bring him back, I will tell the world that he is my mate and there is nothing you can do about it, nothing, absolutely nothing. Do you understand me?’

She lunged towards me; I held her hand filled with rage, my claws emerged piercing her arm, she screamed and before I knew what was happening, my father pushed me away from her, her arm was terribly bleeding.

“What on earth is wrong with you, Oceana? This is not the Alpha I raised for eighteen years.’

“And this is not the Alpha I knew as my father for eighteen years. I did everything you asked to please you. I didn’t want to be a disappointing bitch to you. When my brother’s left, I did everything to please you. I made sure you were happy, and made a lot of sacrifices but you took away my joy, father.’

“If you don’t stop this nonsense, I will make sure he never returns.’ my father’s solemn tone got through me and scared me.

He wasn’t joking.

He was dead serious with me.

“So, you see, get married to Kai as soon as possible if you want Gerard to return. If not, I will not hesitate to make sure he never returns here again.”

I sobbed so hard, sitting down on the floor, and yelled at him. “Why are you this cold? Isn’t he your son anymore? WHY WOULD YOU TREAT YOUR SON THIS WAY?’

“I’m doing him a favour because he is my son. If he wasn’t my son, I would have hanged him and cut off his head by myself.” He went over to my mother and kissed her arm. It healed immediately and then he turned to me. “Don’t disappoint me. You are getting married to Kai in five days. Be prepared. I have had enough of this childish attitude.’

He sauntered away with my mother sobbing out of the chambers.

I was doomed and my world shattered before me.

Five days?

I was getting married in five days to Kai. I stood up and shook my head.

“No, no, I can’t allow this to happen. I can’t get married to Kai. That idiot was going to be my husband.

Tears streamed down my cheeks. I got up and saw Carmine was about to leave when I ran and blocked his path and held the collars of his shirt.

“Where is Gérard?’ I demanded. “You must know where he is. Please tell me? Where is he?’ I begged.

“Stop holding me like that. I am not some thief you caught stealing your purse.’ he glared.

I released my hands off him. “Where is he?’ I felt so hopeless. “Why are you doing this to me, Carmine, you know what I go through, please, please, please, please, I’m begging with my life, tell me where he is…” I felt my strength drained out of me, and blacked out and the only voice I could hear was Carmine’s voice shouting in panic.

What was the use of living if Gerard wasn’t by my side?

Gerard’s Pov.

It all began twenty years ago when I was abducted by Oceana's father after he attacked my pack and my people.

It was also when my nightmare began.

Life is full of twists and mysteries. The world is nothing but a den of thieves and hungry, lustful preys.

If I had a choice, I would have chosen never to meet Oceana and her monstrous father.

I barged into the queen’s chambers, slamming the brown decorated doors open, furious with rage.

I saw her sitting on her throne and ordering the housekeepers and maids about what to do with her chambers with the decorations she had bought…

“Gerard.’ she frowned.

“You are the queen of the ten realms. How could you be so cruel at locking up Oceana in her chambers? Isn’t she your daughter?’ I furiously yelled at her expression.

“You must have a death wish. How dare you barge into my chambers in this warm afternoon to ruin my moment and teach me on how to train my daughter? Who do you think you are to speak to me in such a manner? Are we now on the same level to address me as your maid or what? What I do is not your business, Gerard. Do you want me to have you locked up as well?’

“I mean no disrespect, Luna. I dare not drag your position with you, queen of the realms. Of course, it is my business. Your daughter, Oceana, is crying inside her room, begging loudly for me to come save her. My fuck, she’s only eight years old, for crying out loud. You can’t mistreat her in such a disgraceful manner as you please.’

“EXCUSE US.’ She loudly commanded everyone to leave the chambers.

I couldn’t stand looking at her one bit.

“Oceana kissed you on your dirty lips on the night of the full moon.” She uttered as soon as they left. “Who taught her such indecent behaviours? She’s nothing but a child and shouldn’t know anything about intimacy between adults.’

“She’s only a little Alpha, who knows nothing and does things she copies because she thinks they are the right things to do. She did it with me because she saw you kissing the Alpha King as well. She thought what she was doing was good. So, please let her go. She’s innocent. I will teach the basics of doing things as an adult and a child.’

“When she kissed you, you did nothing but let her do as she pleases with you. You seem so close to my daughter. It disgusts me. The way you look at her also irritates me. I hate seeing you around my daughter. Are you perhaps a paedophile?’ She looked at me with so much disgust.

I clenched my fists, trying as much to not blow out my anger.

When Oceana kissed me, I was stunned at her actions that before I could realise what was happening, her mother caught us both in the act.

She didn’t even let me explain and kept beating up Oceana and dragged her away from him.

“You know me so well than to call me such indescribable names.”

“You are nothing but fake blood telling me what to do with my child.’

“I know Oceana better than you do. I’m always with her every step of the way. Release her. She’s so naïve and doesn’t know what she has done wrong. I promise you Luna, that such an act would not repeat itself.”

“You are not even a true blood of the realms, you are not a real Daciana, and you have the guts to talk to me in such a manner. How dare you, Gerard? What right do you have to influence my daughter to kiss at such a young age?’
