Clara’s POV

I don’t know how long I was asleep, but the recent events kept replaying in my mind when I woke up. I couldn’t help but cry and felt helpless. I also remembered hearing Evangeline’s voice before I passed out. Thinking about Evangeline made me feel angry. Why would she only show herself when everything is too late?

I also thought about Alpha Louis and imagined his death. I know he is already dead, but I still hope for him to survive. I sat down on the floor, forcing myself to stand up. I felt weak all of a sudden but still tried standing up. I touched the tree where the entrance was closed down. I was looking for a way to open it again since Alpha Louis didn’t mention how to open it from the inside. I touched everywhere until I felt air coming through a small crack in the entrance.

I caressed the crack and followed where the air through my hand. I followed the airflow until I found something that could be pushed. When I pushed it, the entrance collapsed, and the outside was right in front of my eyes. I peeked at both sides outside, ensuring no one was out before stepping out at the tree. The forest was quiet enough to make me feel anxious. I immediately shifted to my wolf form and ran towards the north where Alpha Kyle and Luna Rica were. I ran and evaded all obstacles in front of me. I didn’t think about anything else and just focused on running until I entered the territory of Alpha Kyle.

“Who goes there!” Someone shouted at me, and I stopped running. I released my aura and focused it on the werewolf in front of me. He felt the pressure of my aura and kneeled down. I stood tall, looking down at him.

The werewolf was gathering around me in a few seconds, and Alpha Kyle arrived. I didn’t bother holding back my power and let out my aura for all the werewolves, including Alpha Kyle feel it. Alpha Kyle’s eyes grew big in surprise when he recognized my aura. He kneeled down and bowed to me.

“Your Highness,” He said. I lowly growled at him, and he signaled someone to bring me some robe. When a she-wolf walked towards me with a robe in her hand, I changed into my human form. When the pack members saw me, they were shocked to see their missing Queen in front of them, and they all kneeled anxiously, scared to be punished for being rude. Since I did not have much time and wanted to see Erik as soon as possible, I dismissed them and eased their worries about being punished. They all sighed in relief and stood. Alpha Kyle immediately ran towards me.

“My Queen, may I ask what happened?” Alpha Kyle asked, and I just looked at him with a calm face.

“Send a message to his majesty, inform him of my presence immediately,” I ordered with a threatening voice. He bowed and gave some orders to his subordinates.

“Let us go inside, my Queen. I instructed my Luna to prepare a room for you,” he said, and I nodded in reply. When he saw my response, he guided me inside their pack house, and Luna Rica greeted us in the hallway.

“Your highness,” she said and did a small curtsy. I nodded at her, and she smiled at me anxiously. I couldn’t blame her since I do not have the move to be friendly now.

“Follow me, my Queen. I will show you to your room,” she said, and I just looked at her, uninterested. She gulped and showed me my room.

I opened the door to the room and saw her bow to me and turn around to leave. “You,” I said. She was startled at hearing my voice suddenly and turned around to face me.

“Yes, your highness?” She asked. “Your aura as a warrior is stronger,” I said, and her eyes grew big for a second but immediately masked it. “Thank you, your highness,” she said, and I entered my room.

I headed straight to the bathroom and took a shower. While taking a shower, I heard the door being opened and closed, and it must be some of the pack members bringing me clothes. I showered for how many more minutes, making sure that I was clean. I left the bathroom after wiping myself and saw some clean clothes on the bed. I immediately changed into clean clothes and went outside.

When I opened the door, I saw some she-wolf standing there. “Bring me to the office of Alpha Kyle,” I ordered, and she bowed before showing me Alpha Kyle’s office. The she-wolf opened the door for me, and I entered. Alpha Kyle immediately stood from his seat, and I walked towards his chair to sit on it. Alpha Kyle and Luna Rica are standing before me, waiting for me to talk.

“Did you send a message to the palace?” I asked with a calm voice. “Yes, your highness, I sent the message using the fastest messenger,” Alpha Kyle replied. “Good,” I said and looked around the office.

“How’s the wall and the prison?” I asked.

“Everything is proceeding well,” He replied, and I nodded. “Bring me some proper food,” I said, and Luna Rica bowed, judging from her expression. She was talking to someone in their pack link.

The office was quiet, and no one dared to start a conversation. I loved the peace and didn’t bother to interact with them any longer. I just wanted to reunite with Erik and find our child as soon as possible. While thinking about my child, someone knocked on the door at the office and brought some food. Luna Rica served the food on the table before me, and I immediately gobbled the food.

I ate quietly until there was no food on my plate. Rica cleaned the table and left the room. “Is there no response yet?” I asked Alpha Kyle, and he nodded. “There is none, your highness, and maybe you should rest first?” Alpha Kyle said hesitantly.

“Hmm, I really should,” I said and stood from my seat. Alpha Kyle was about to follow me, but I stopped him. “I can go back to the room by myself,” I said calmly. He nodded, and I turned my back on him and left to return to the room where Luna Rica had sent me earlier.

I laid down on the bed and started thinking about my child. With my child in my thoughts, I cried to sleep.

Erik’s POV

“Your majesty!” Someone called while I was sitting in my office looking at the map. I was still looking for a place in the country where they could hide my Queen.

“Your majesty!” The voice grew louder, indicating that the owner of the voice was getting near the office. The voice was in a panic, and it sounded like Ian.

The door opened, and I turned around, I saw Ian catching his breath at the entrance of my office, and I looked at him, confused. “What’s happening?” I asked, confused that the calm and serious Ian was now in front of me with a panicked expression.

“Someone sent a message! The Queen is on the north!” Ian shouted with panic and a trembling voice.

At the mention of Clara, my heart beat fast, and I rushed towards Ian and grabbed his shoulders. “What did you say?!” I said angrily.

“Someone from the north sent a message saying her highness went there herself,” Ian said. My eyes grew big, and I slowly let go of his shoulders. “Clara!” I shouted in my thought. My wolf howled, and I looked back at Ian. He nodded at me, saying that I heard things right. I immediately ran outside and changed into my wolf form. I didn’t bother and think about anything else. I just ran as fast as I could toward the north.

I heard some rustling sound on my back, and when I turned around to look, I saw countless pack members following me from behind, including Vincent and Ian. I didn’t bother to stop them since I couldn’t wait any longer to see my mate. “My mate is alive. She is there. I can finally meet her,” I said to myself.

We ran for a few more hours until we entered the territory of Alpha Kyle. Some pack members bowed at me and greeted the rest of my companions. I changed into my human form and took the clothes that were passed to me. I hurriedly walked inside their pack until I saw Luna Rica. “Where is she?!” I shouted.

“Follow me, your majesty. I will guide you to her room,” she said while bowing, and I calmed myself. “I can see my mate,” I said. My heart keeps beating faster than it can burst at any moment. Luna Rica opened the door for me, and I rushed inside the room. I saw my beautiful mate lying down on the bed, sleeping. I walked towards the bed and sat beside her. I grabbed her hand and held it tightly.

Seeing my mate in front of me, I couldn’t help but cry. She grew thin in the months that we grew apart. Her huge belly was nowhere to be seen, and that caused me to cry even more. I cried while holding her hand tightly and closely to my face. I was surprised when she moved and saw her looking back at me. When she recognized who am I she hurriedly sat down and hugged me. I hugged her back, and we both cried.

“Erik! Erik! Erik! Erik!” She repeatedly shouted my name, and I hugged her tightly. “I am here, I am here, my love,” I said while caressing and kissing her head. She cried on my shoulder for a few more minutes until she pushed me away from her and grabbed my collar.

“OUR CHILD! FIND OUR CHILD RIGHT NOW! GATHER OUR FORCES AND LOOK FOR OUR CHILD!” She shouted anxiously that you could see fear in both of her eyes.

“Calm down first and.”

“CALM DOWN!? CALM DOWN?! YOU’RE TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN WHILE OUR CHILD IS OUT THERE?!” She shouted angrily and stood from the bed. She was walking around in front of me.

“Of course, we will look for our child, but first, calm down and talk to me, please?” I asked slowly and calmly. I was trying to calm her down.

“I SAID. GATHER OUR FORCES AND START LOOKING FOR OUR CHILD ERIK! THEY WILL MAKE OUR CHILD AS A VESSEL! CAN’T YOU UNDERSTAND?! WE DO NOT HAVE MUCH TIME!!!” Clara shouted angrily. I got the urge to cry but bit my lip to stop crying.

Watching my mate shout and walk around in panic made my heart clench. “What happened to her that she became like this?” I asked myself. I looked at her sadly and smiled awkwardly.

“I will don’t worry, I will,” I said and was about to leave the room when I heard a sound. I looked back and saw Clara on the floor, crying. I was about to walk back to her and soothe her pain, but I stopped and left the room.

I leaned on the door and closed my eyes. I wanted to ask her many questions and hug her tight, so she was not scared. I understand that she went through some hell, but her rejection hurt. It hurt so bad that I felt like my heart was being stomped over. I closed my eyes tightly and calmed myself.

I walked from the room where Clara was currently staying and looked for someone to show me where Alpha Kyle’s office was. I saw Ian, and he showed me where the office is. When I entered the office, Vincent hurriedly stood from his seat, waiting for me to talk. “It’s her, but they took our child. Gather all of our forces and send a message to Alpha Rick to prepare for war. Let us wait for the Queen to calm down and Alpha Kyle, send your warriors to look for anything. Since the Queen came here, the place where the Queen got held is near,” I ordered, and Alpha Kyle bowed to me and left the room.

“What happened, Erik?” Vincent asked nervously.

“She was panicking so much that she kept on shouting and crying. She rejected my touch and talked to me as if I were one of her enemies. At least that’s what I felt,” I said, covering my face with trembling eyes.

“Clara, my love, what happened to you?”
