Chapter 53: Chapter 53

Erik's POV

It's been too long, but we still can't find where my mate is. I am so frustrated with myself that I can't even find my wife. I also checked all the packs around our country but still couldn't find any traces of her except for her scent, which was all over the country. The last time we had some clues was when our mate connection became active. I managed to talk to her through mind-link.

They took my child from her. Is my child even alive? What do they plan to do to an innocent child? "What do you think, Tia? Why would they take my child?" I ask Tia, who is currently in my office. All my officers, including Vincent, are in my office thinking about where Clara is.

"Clara, my child, I hope both of you are safe. Moon Goddess, Evangeline, I beg you, please protect my family."

"There is something strange in the territory of Alpha Louis," Vincent said while touching his chin. I looked at him with a calm face.

"What do you mean?" I asked, but his question was true. Alpha Louis's pack members never did something suspicious and followed every order silently. They all showed their loyalty, even the Luna, but seeing the face of the Luna at that time when I summoned her. She looked terrified when I mentioned her mate.

"Their actions have nothing suspicious on it. Some of them are even willing to surrender their lives to prove they are innocent," Vincent said, and I nodded, agreeing with what he said because it was true.

"Is there a report on what I asked you last time?" I asked. It was about the entrance that would lead us to an underground place. Since we cannot find Clara on the surface and in all the territory within the country, we thought that what Clara said was true. Alpha Louis is a traitor, no one can deny that fact, but no one can also deny that his subordinates are not part of his treacherous crimes. I began considering whether Alpha Louis has a secret entrance within his territory that only he knows of.

"We checked all the floors, walls, and everything in their territory, your majesty, but we couldn't find an entrance that leads to a secret place," Vincent replied.

I pinched the bridge of my nose and thought deeply, and maybe they used some magic so that ordinary werewolves won't be able to find it. I looked at Tia, and she nodded. "I will go and check their territory, your majesty," Tia said. Living for how many decades made her able to grasp things quickly.

"Bring some of our warriors and try to wander around the country after you suspect Alpha Louis's territory. Maybe you can find some clues about Clara's whereabouts," I said, and she nodded.

After that, we talked about a few more plans for finding Clara before both of them left me in my office. I sighed and left my office to go to our bedroom. Clara's scent still lingers in our bedroom, which causes me to miss her more. My wolf whined because of longing for our mate. I do miss her, and I long for her scent and her touch.

"Oh my mate, I miss you dearly," I said while hugging Clara's pillow.

"Your majesty," Someone called and knocked at the door. I put down Clara's pillow and stood to open the door. I saw one of my subordinates, who bowed when I opened the door for him.

"Someone left something at the entrance of our territory, and Luna said you should come and look at it," He said while bowing.

"I see. Lead the way," I ordered, and he immediately stood straight and walked before me.

In a few minutes, we arrived at the entrance of our territory, and Tia looked at me with a pale face. I felt scared by her emotion and thought it was somehow related to my mate. I calmed myself and walked towards Tia. She bowed to me and handed me a box.

I opened the box and saw black hair, not Clara's but her scent. My eyes grew big, realizing whose hair it was. My wolf became angry, and I growled. I couldn't contain my wolf's anger since I was angry.

"It's my child's."

Third Person's POV

Klaus is sitting in a tree near the territory of Erik and Clara. "Hahahaha, their reactions are really funny. Oh, this was fun," Klaus said while brushing his back to the back of his head. After being satisfied looking at the terrified faces of his enemies, he jumped off the tree to the ground. He shifted to his wolf form and ran back to their hideouts.

After arriving at their hideout, Klaus went to see his accomplice at everything. "Is everything ready?" Klaus asked the old man.

"Yes, everything is ready. We need to wait for the full moon," The old man said while happily drinking his wine.

"I see, then I'm off," Klaus said and turned his back to the old man, but he stopped on his track when the old man laughed. He turned back to look at the old man, laughing like a crazy fool. Klaus looked at the old man like he was a senile werewolf.

"Don't tell me you finally lost it?" Klaus asked, bewildered at the old man's sudden laugh.

"N-no, n-no," The old man said while laughing and waving his hand.

"What's your problem?" Klaus asked, irritated at the old man.

"It's just funny that you still haven't let go of that useless bitch” The old man said. Klaus, who heard Someone insult his mate, suddenly got angry and launched at the old man. The old man was uninterested in Klaus's sudden outburst, and with a flick of his hand, Klaus was sent back flying into the wall.

Klaus coughed blood a few times and wiped the blood that was coming out into his mouth. "I didn't know that you liked her that much," The old man said and smirked while touching his chin. Klaus glared at him and abruptly left the room. Klaus rushed to where the witch Merlin was currently residing and started growling at her.

"You! You're just a bitch!" Klaus shouted at Merlin while pointing his fingers at her. Merlin, the witch, got surprised at his sudden outburst and slapped Klaus's fingers, pointing at her.

"What do you need?! If you are here to spout nonsense, leave!" Merlin said, fed up with all of Klaus's sudden outbursts. Klaus gritted his teeth in anger and walked towards Merlin, who was turning her back to Klaus.

Klaus grabbed Merlin's shoulder to face her to him. When Merlin got forced to turn, Klaus immediately slapped her in the face as hard as he could. "Don't talk back at me! Remember this, Merlin, and you are my possession! You do not have a right to anything!" Klaus said and slapped Merlin one more time before leaving her in the room while lying down on the floor crying.

That night, Klaus came back to Merlin's room drunk. "What do you want?" Merlin asked anxiously. Her hands were trembling from fear since she knew what would happen to her at that moment. Klaus walked towards Merlin, who was lying on her bed.

"Nooo!" Merlin shouted and covered herself using her blanket. Klaus gritted his teeth and glared at Merlin, angry at her for rejecting him. He slapped her and began unbuckling his belt. Klaus smirked at Merlin. "Refusing me now when you always begged for it? How funny, witch," Klaus said while laughing, and he began penetrating Merlin.

Merlin couldn't refuse and fight back. She didn't know why but her powers began transferring to Klaus. Even if she fights back, she will immediately lose because Klaus is stronger than her. Klaus became the second werewolf who could use black magic only witches could use. Merlin covered her face with her pillow to stop herself from shouting. That night, Merlin couldn't do anything and accepted Klaus and cried.

In the morning, when Klaus woke up, he took Merlin again and had fun with her. Merlin's soul was already crushed, and she looked like a living doll. After losing their child and some of her powers, she started drowning in darkness. The last night events were the last straw, and now Merlin is completely swimming in her darkness.

On the other hand, Klaus felt refreshed and went to see the old man again. Upon arriving at the old man's office, he saw multiple dead bodies of rogues lying on the ground. "What do we have here? How can you be so cruel, Old man?" Klaus said while smirking at the old man.

The old man turned his head to look at Klaus, standing at his office door. He smiled at Klaus and pointed at the bucket full of blood. "Bring it to me," The old man ordered, and Klaus followed with a grimace. Klaus gave the bucket of blood to the old man, and the old man started painting something on the ground using the blood.

Klaus doesn't know anything but knows that the old man is drawing a magic circle. "This must be connected to the ritual," Klaus thought. He quietly stood at the corner of the room, watching everything the old man was doing. He didn't care about anything as long as he could see blood. That was the most fun and exciting thing for him. At some point, Klaus stopped being obsessed with Clara, and he just began to stop caring about anything and focus on killing to see some blood.

"Get the pup."

After finishing the preparations, the old man ordered Klaus to get the child of the royals. Yes, the child of Queen Clara and King Erik. Klaus immediately left the room to get the child, and the pup stayed under Merlin. She was the one who was currently looking after the child.

"Give me the pup," Klaus said to Merlin, who only looked at him, uninterested. Merlin stood from her seat, and in a few seconds, Merlin came back while holding the child.

Merlin whispered a few words to the baby before giving it to Klaus. Klaus looked at Merlin suspiciously but smirked at her and left with the pup in his hands. Klaus returned to the old man's office and gave the pup to him. The old man smiled happily while holding the child. In his smile, Klaus grunted and crept at the old man.

The old man carefully laid down the child in the middle of the magic circle. He bit his finger and let the blood pour down the child's face. As his blood touched the child, he mumbled words, and Klaus was surprised at the heavy gust of wind surrounding the old man and the baby. The wind became heavy for Klaus to bear. He needed to hold on to the wall to support himself.

"NO!" The old man suddenly shouted angrily.

"What's wrong?" Klaus asked uninterestedly.

"Who dares!!" The old man shouted again and angrily walked towards Klaus. The old man grabbed Klaus by the collar and snarled at him.

"What did you do?!" The old man asked Klaus, his face reddened because of his anger.

"What did I do?" Klaus asked. He was trying hard not to smile or laugh at the old man's face.

"Only half of my soul went in," The old man said with wide eyes full of anger.

"What do I know about that?" Klaus said. The old man's eyes grew big, realizing that Klaus was stupid and didn't have the brains to think about something like this. He let go of Klaus and turned his back on him.

Klaus fixed his shirt while smirking at the old man. The old man's face was interesting to watch for Klaus, and he was still trying his best not to burst out laughing at the old man. While the old man looked at the child, he smiled. "There's no problem. Half of my soul still got in successfully in that child," The old man said and laughed.

"That was quick. I was hoping for him to get more confused and angrier, but what happened at his ritual? Half of him? That means it is still not complete." Klaus said to himself and leaned on the wall, quietly watching the old man laugh like Someone crazy.

"Ahh, it must be that," Klaus smirked, remembering what Merlin did before she gave the pup to him.

"Bring the child back to the room," The old man said calmly. Klaus grimaced, disappointed at the old man's reaction. Klaus raised both of his shoulders and took the pup back to Merlin. On the way back to Merlin's residence, Klaus smiled, excited at what was happening, and thought,

"It doesn't matter what Merlin did. That expression of the old man was enough entertainment for today. I can smell blood already, oh! This is so fun, and I'm getting excited."
