Erik’s POV

“WHY CAN’T YOU FIND HER! IS THIS THE BEST YOU GOT?!!!” I shouted at the warriors that were currently kneeling in front of me. They winced at my voice but did not dare to talk back. Vincent stepped forward and bowed.

“Speak,” I said with a threatening voice.

“Her scent is all over the country, my king,” He reported, and I looked at him confused.

“What do you mean? How can her scent be all over the land? Are you telling me that they are on the move?” I said with full anger.

“We are still looking for more clues,” Vincent said.

“YOUR SISTER! MY MATE, THE QUEEN HAS BEEN MISSING FOR DAYS, AND YOU STILL HAVEN’T FOUND ENOUGH CLUES?! HOW CAN YOU ALL BE SO USELESS!” I said furiously, and I gritted my teeth.

Vincent was about to talk again when I stood and raised my hand. “Enough,” I said and made my way to our room.

After arriving at our room, I looked around, and memories of Clara began to flashback. I bit my lip anxiously and entered the bathroom to take a shower. While in the shower, I closed my eyes and focused on feeling my connection with Clara.

“Clara!”

“Clara, please!”

“Clara, I’m begging you, answer me, please!”

I desperately called for her in our mate link, but I got no response. I punched the wall in the shower room and rushed outside the bathroom to change. “If no one can find her, I will look for her myself,” I said. My wolf howled in my head, agreeing with my thoughts.

I haven’t slept since Clara disappeared. How can Tia not recognize some rogues inside the barrier? Is her sister stronger than her? What are their plans for kidnapping the Queen? I was deep in thought and didn’t realize I was already outside the pack house.

“Your majesty,” Ian greeted me, but I was not in the mood, so I released some of my aura and directed it to him.

“Back off,” I said, threatening him. He winced and gulped. He just bowed at me and left. After Ian went, I immediately shifted into wolf form and let Liam track our mate.

I wandered around and did not stop running. I did not think about the direction of where I was going. I just ran around and tried smelling the scent of my mate. Vincent was right, and her scent was all over the place. I ran non-stop until I realized I was in Melissa’s territory.

“Melissa,” I mind-linked him.

“Erik? What? How? Are you here? Wait,” She replied. She was confused and trying not to panic at the same time. In a few minutes, Melissa and her mate greeted me at the entrance of their territory.

“Your majesty” The leaders and the pack members greeted me simultaneously. I shifted back into my human form, and someone put a robe on me.

“Gather your warriors and find the whereabouts of the Queen,” I ordered Alpha Rick. He bowed and immediately ordered his men to search. I followed Melissa until we reached the office of Alpha Rick. She left me in the office and came back with an omega who was holding a change of clothes. I took the clothes, and they both left the office. After changing, I sat on the chair of Alpha Rick and slumped my back to the chair. I pinched the bridge of my nose, trying my best not to fall asleep. Melissa came back with Alpha Rick on her side.

“What happened?” Melissa asked, full of worry in her voice.

“Clara vanished inside our territory,” I said, and Melissa gasped while covering her mouth with both hands.

“B-but how? I know that you have a barrier,” She asked.

“That’s what confuses Tia, she should have felt some unfamiliar presence inside her barrier, but no one noticed,” I said and facepalmed.

“When did this happen?” Melissa asked while trying not to cry.

“It’s been two weeks,” I whispered weakly.

“Oh, my goddess,” Melissa gasped.

“I ordered my men to search around,” Alpha Rick informed me.

“Good. I will be here for a few days and move to another territory. Don’t let anyone know about this; it seems we still have one rat among us,” I snarled.

“I will prepare a room for you. You look so tired, and you need to rest, or else you won’t have any strength to find her,” Melissa said, trying to convince me. I felt terrified that my body would collapse and I couldn’t find my mate. I closed my eyes tightly and looked back at Melissa. I smiled at her weakly, and she smiled back at me sadly.

Alpha Rick presented me with a country map while Melissa prepared a room for me. “Check these places, and I will travel from here to the north in a few days,” I said, and he nodded.

“Always prepare for a battle. Order your men to always look for a signal from us. We will have a war anytime, anywhere,” I ordered.

“Yes, your majesty,” He replied.

“I will expect great things from you being our vanguard,” I said. His eyes grew big for a second, but he immediately masked it.

Melissa returned to the room to tell me the room was ready, and I left the office, following Melissa from behind. When we arrived at the room, Melissa grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly. “She is a brave and strong she-wolf.” She said and looked at me seriously. I hugged her, and she hugged me back. “I know,” I whispered to her and broke the hug.

“Rest well, and I will also join the search for the night,” She said and bowed to me. I nodded at her and closed the door.

I lay on the bed and tried to sleep, but Clara kept popping into my head. My wolf howled in pain and longing for our mate.

“Clara, my love, where are you?”

Clara’s POV

“What are you doing? Stop it!” I furiously shouted at Klaus, who was currently torturing Alpha Louis.

“Aaaaaarghhh!” Alpha Louis shouted with pain in his voice. I gasped and was terrified when I saw his feet get cut.

“STOP IT, KLAUS!” I shouted again, trying to break my cell.

“Well, he said he has no use for him now, and I can do what I want,” Klaus said, uninterested.

“You disgusting monster!” I replied, snarling at him.

“I told you, didn’t I? It is for my entertainment. I’ve been bored for months, you know, waiting for your pregnancy,” He said, smirking.

“Oops, I can’t let you die on me,” He added and faced Alpha Louis again. He mumbled something and touched the feet of Alpha Louis, which were bleeding. Black smoke spread around the severed feet of Alpha Louis, and the bleeding immediately stopped.

“You!” I shouted, surprised at what I was seeing. How can he manage to close that kind of wound? He shouldn’t have powers unless he did something against the rule of our kind.

“Why are you so surprised, Clara?” He smirked and left the cell of Alpha Louis, and stood in front of mine.

“If you are the Queen of werewolves, I am the King of Rogues,” He confidently said.

“Whatever you plan on doing, you won’t succeed!” I snarled and spat on his face. He wiped the spit on his face and tried to hit me, but his hand stopped mid-air. His actions surprised me, causing me to trip and fall to the floor. I winced at the pain I felt on my bottom and touched my huge belly. It ached so hard that it made me grit my teeth. I caressed it and whispered for my son to calm down.

“Poor you, soon that burden will be gone” He smirked, and all I could do was glare at him. He shrugged his shoulders and left the prison. I sighed and calmed myself, remembered Alpha Louis, and stood immediately.

“Alpha Louis! Alpha Louis!” I called, but I got no reply. I heard him breathe heavily, and I sighed in relief that he was alive. He must be unconscious, I thought.

I dragged my feet at the back of my cell to lean on the wall. My stomach ached again, and I grabbed the helm of my dress and tried to fight the urge to shout. My breathing became heavy, and my sight was starting to blur. I looked down at my stomach and saw sweat dripping down my dress. I couldn’t fight back my fatigue, causing me to sleep.

I woke up to the shout of one of the rogues guarding the prison. “Wake up and eat, you stupid bitch!” He shouted at me and threw my food on the floor before leaving. I bit my lip in frustration seeing my food on the floor. My child doesn’t deserve this kind of food, I thought.

I slowly stood from the floor and walked towards the food. I forced myself to swallow the food and held back my tears. They will pay for all they did to my former pack and my parents. With that thought in mind, I continued to force myself to swallow the food since I needed to eat for my unborn child.

“Poor you, soon your burden will be gone.”

I suddenly remembered what Klaus said yesterday. I suddenly realized something, and I bit my lip due to anger.

“I see! No wonder they have been quiet for these past few months! They were waiting for my child! But what for? What will they do with my child, who is innocent.”

I continuously asked myself some questions and gasped after realizing something. “Sacrifice!”

“I won’t let them,” Angeline growled.

“Of course, we need to escape! They can’t have this child,” I replied, full of fear.

“Our powers are slowly returning, we couldn’t use our full power, but we have enough strength.”

“Thank you, Angeline, and It must be hard on your side,” I said softly.

“We are one, I am you, and you are me,” She whispered and cut our connection.

Yes, I am not alone. My child and Angeline are here with me. There is nothing to be afraid of. I said to myself and quietly called Alpha Louis.

“Alpha, we need to think of a way to escape,” I said softly.

“I’ve been trying to escape here for years, your majesty,” He weakly replied, and I was surprised that he knew me since I can’t remember introducing myself.

“We can’t just give up,” I said.

He slowly lifted his head to look at me. The look in his eyes was full of energy, and I smiled sheepishly at my thought that he already gave up. In his state, he is still fighting.

“Aaaaargh!” I shouted when my stomach began to hurt again. This time the pain is stronger that I cannot hold back my tears and voice. I bit my lip in frustration.

“Erik!” I shouted.

This isn’t good. The pain is getting stronger, and it is longer. It seems that my child will be born here. “Oh, my moon goddess. Please protect my child,” I prayed.

“Are you okay, your majesty?” Alpha Louis asked nervously.

“Aaaaaaargh!!!!” I shouted again painfully. I screamed again and again until I felt my water break.

“No! Not here!” I cried in my thought. “Aaaaaaargh!”

It’s coming out. I can feel my child going out. “What’s happening here!” The rogues who were guarding this prison rushed in here and were shocked to see my state.

“Report to our master!” One of the rogues shouted. It seems that this rogue is one of the captains.

I caressed my stomach and shouted repeatedly. I balled my fist, and my eyes grew big when I felt my child coming out. I started pushing out my child while calling painfully.

“Aaaaaaaargh!” I shouted.

“Angeline, I’m scared,” I cried to Angeline.

“Be strong, my love, be strong,” Angeline replied nervously. I can feel that she is also hurting. This is bad, and my fear is taking over me.

“At last!” I heard someone shout excitedly and saw Klaus looking at me with wide eyes. I am starting to feel exhausted, and my consciousness is beginning to fade.

“Call our doctors!” Klaus ordered, and a few minutes passed when some doctors sat beside me.

“Erik! Where are you?” I cried and hoped for Erik to reply, but nothing. I bit my lip and let my tears fall.
