Chapter 46: Chapter 46

Erik’s POV

The troops started their march, and I returned to our bedroom to check on Clara. I saw her sleeping peacefully and headed towards the kitchen since my mother mind-linked me earlier to eat.

I saw my mother standing in the kitchen while removing her apron. “Mom,” I said, calling her attention.

She looked at me and smiled. “Here you are. I thought you’ll be late again. Where’s Clara?” She asked.

“In the bedroom, sleeping,” I said and sat on one of the chairs at the dining table. My mother served the food and put some plates on my side table. I smiled and whispered thanks while she moved around serving the cooked food.

“Did you have a meeting in the throne room?” She asked, and I nodded while putting multiple foods on my plate.

“It must be important since you look like that,” She said softly.

“I had a meeting with the captains. I ordered them to attack one of the Alphas,” I said.

I was about to tell her about Alpha Louis, but I decided to hide it from her. She is close to Alpha Louis and trusts her wholeheartedly. She is confident that Alpha Louis won’t betray my father or us.

“Alpha Louis must be killed!” Liam exclaimed.

“Of course, everyone responsible for making Clara unconscious will have a painful death,” I snarled with anger.

I focused on finishing my food and returned to our bedroom to change since I still had the paperwork waiting for me at the office. I decided not to come and attack Alpha Louis since I was confident in Vincent’s skills.

I entered our bedroom and saw Clara stretching her arms in the air while lying down on the bed. I smiled and walked toward her. She glanced at me and smiled.

“Hi,” I said, sitting on the bed.

“I’m”

“You’re hungry,” I said, stopping her words. She smiled widely, showing me her beautiful teeth, and laughed. She sat on the bed and hugged me.

“Yes, very hungry,” She whispered to my ear.

“What do you want to eat?” I asked, breaking the hug.

“Hmm, let me think,” She said, holding her chin and thinking deeply.

“Don’t say spaghetti,” I said while looking at her. She laughed again and shook his head.

“I want meat,” She said.

“Okay then, I’ll just change, and we’ll go straight to the kitchen,” I said, and she nodded.

I entered our walk-in closet and changed into my usual clothes. After changing, I saw Clara sitting on the end of our bed, brushing her beautiful long hair. “Let’s go?” I asked.

“Yes, let’s go. I can’t stop thinking about the food you will cook for me,” She said, wiggling her eyebrows.

I laughed and grabbed her hand. We left the room and went to the kitchen. We saw mom drinking coffee, and she was dressed beautifully. I kissed her on the forehead, and Clara kissed her on the cheek.

“Where are you off to, mom? Looking so beautiful.”

“I’ll be meeting my couple of friends,” She replied. I nodded and headed to the kitchen to cook food for Clara while Clara sat beside mom at the kitchen table.

“Who are those friends?” Clara asked. “Some old friends of Erik’s father and I,” She replied to Clara while waving her hand in the air.

Clara’s POV

“By the way, I was looking for Vincent but haven’t seen him. I tried mind-linking him, but he won’t respond,” Ellie asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know. I just woke up,” I replied.

“Erik?” Ellie asked Erik, who was busy in the kitchen.

“He led the troops in the attack,” Erik said.

Ellie mouthed an o and sipped through her coffee. “I see. I’ll pray to our moon goddess for their safety,” She said.

“Nothing will happen since they are the most trained warriors, especially Vincent,” Erik replied proudly.

Ellie smiled at Erik and finished her cup of coffee. “Well, I’ll be going now. Enjoy your food, Clara, sweety,” She said and left.

“Is it okay for her to go out?” I asked Erik.

“Let her, and she’s been feeling lonely since she moved back here. She is also just as strong as the warriors,” He said while shrugging his shoulders.

“I see,” I said and stayed quiet while watching Erik cook some food.

In a few minutes, Erik walked toward me while holding a plate. He served me two plates, the first dish was steak, and the other was stir-fried pieces of flank steak with broccoli, seasoned with a Chinese-style sauce. My mouth began to water at the sight of these wonderful dishes. I took my utensils and began to taste the food.

“Hmm! Where did you learn how to cook?!” I raised my voice while asking. Erik laughed, “Well, mom was depressed back then, and I loved living by myself. I learned how to cook by myself,” He explained. I smiled at him sweetly, “It is so delicious,” I said and gobbled the food he cooked for me.

“You won’t eat?” I asked.

“No, I ate with mom earlier.”

“I see,” I said and finished all the food.

“Where are you off to now?” I asked and drank water.

“I’ll do some paperwork while waiting for reports from the attack force,” He explained.

“Okay then, I’ll be at the library,” I said while wiping my mouth. I was about to take all the dishes, but Erik took the dishes and washed them in the kitchen.

Third Person’s POV

“Is it true that the so-called Queen is pregnant?” The old man said while sitting comfortably in his office, asked Klaus while smirking.

“Yes, she is. It is faint, but since I am special, I smell two scents from her,” Klaus said. He was lying on the sofa, spinning a book on his finger.

“Hahaha. It is getting interesting,” the old man said. He stood and walked around the office, thinking deeply.

“Hey, tell me why we won’t attack now,” Klaus, uninterested in everything, asked.

“Let’s wait for the right time, and in that time, it will surely be the last,” The old man replied and laughed. Klaus just shrugged his shoulders and jumped out on the sofa.

“Well, I’ll go have some fun with my mate,” Klaus said while smirking at the old man. He left the office, and while walking towards his bedroom, he was thinking deeply.

“Well, that’s boring. Wait for the right time, he says. Hmp! Since Clara is pregnant, I should visit her and send her a gift for old times’ sake,” He thought and smiled widely, thinking that he had thought of some excellent plan.

He went to his room and savagely claimed her mate like she was some toy. After enjoying himself, he left his mate in the room and started preparing his plan.

“For those who want some fun and action, follow me!” Klaus shouted, and almost all of his pack members followed him. All the rogues marched towards the home of the King and Queen of werewolves.

Klaus was walking, holding some bottle of perfume in his hand. “This will make you happy for sure, your highness,” Klaus thought while smirking, excited to start his plan.

When they were getting near the royal territory, Klaus was amazed that some barrier surrounded it. He laughed, and he suddenly grimaced.

“Tsk, I forgot about this barrier. I should have brought that useless witch of mine,” Klaus said.

The witch got pregnant, but the child she bore died. After that incident, the witch got weaker and depressed, and Klaus lost interest in his mate.

“All of you! Gather around!” Klaus ordered the rogues and took two small bottles of liquid in his pocket. He covered his mouth and nose and threw the small bottles into the rogues. Both bottles shattered, and some red smoke poured out the bottles. The rogues who smelled the red smoke got aggressive and couldn’t think anymore. Their eyes got red and were growling non-stop. “Good, it’s working,” Klaus thought. He smiled at the rogues, “Attack the barrier until it gets broken. The others will burn the forest surrounding that barrier,” He ordered. The rogues howled passionately and carried out their Alpha’s order.

The rogues who lost all of their senses only thought and did one thing. It was the order of their Alpha. They continuously attacked the barrier even though they got hurt, and the others even died trying to break it. The Alpha, who has no interest in what’s happening, just tossed the bottle that he will give to Clara.

Klaus became excited when countless warriors went out of the barrier and started attacking the rogues. They ruthlessly killed the rogues that tried to attack and enter the barrier.

“Hmm, these warriors seem different,” Klaus said and started looking around. The forest was burning around them. He put the bottle of liquid into a box and left it near the barrier the fire couldn’t reach.

He put some fingers on his mouth and whistled. At the sound of the whistle, the rogues ran off in every direction, retreating from the battlefield. Klaus swiftly left the scene and started making his way towards the pack of Alpha Louis.

On his way to the pack of Alpha Louis, he noticed that someone was getting near him, so he fastened up the pace of his run.

“Who is it?” Klaus asked in their mind-link.

“It was the current beta,” One of his subordinates snarled.

Klaus smirked and deliberately left some tracks for the beta to follow him. “This is getting interesting,” Klaus thought and laughed inwardly.

He added more speed to his run and continued leaving some obvious clues on his tracks. When he got to the territory of Alpha Louis, he drank some potion and ran in a different direction without leaving any more of his ways. The potion that he drank was to hide his scent.

He shifted to his human form and climbed a tree near Alpha Louis’s territory. He waited for the beta to arrive there, and when he came, he watched every move the beta made.

“What a fool, and this is what they called the strongest?! Hahahaha. What kind of joke is that?” He said while watching the beta smell around Alpha Louis territory, looking for him.

“Return to our hideout” Klaus mind-linked his rogues and jumped from the tree branch, shifting mid-air. He glanced back at the beta one more time and smirked at the beta, which was looking around Alpha Louis’s territory seriously. Klaus shook his head, thinking that the beta was some fool, before leaving the territory to return to their hideout.

“What will be your next step Erik? Will you attack your father’s trusted friend or brutally kill him? Of course, you’ll kill him, right?” Klaus thought and was thinking deeply while running back to his hideout.

“The question is, when will you attack?” Klaus asked himself and focused on running.

In the royal’s territory, King Erik was sitting in his chair at his office and doing some paperwork. He stopped reading the documents he was holding and landed the papers on his table. He pinched the bridge of his nose and stared at the ceiling. He kept thinking about the continuous fight between Alpha Louis and his father that he witnessed when he was a kid.

“What are they fighting about? Mom said that is how their relationship works, but I clearly remembered the expression of Alpha Louis and my father. Dad was furious while Alpha Louis was frustrated and looked desperate,” Erik thought. Many more questions kept popping into his head, and he struggled to focus on his paperwork.

He was getting tired of all the mysteries and fights. He just wanted to focus on reconstructing the country, focus on his mate Clara and, of course, his unborn pup. He wants to finish and rebuild the country to show his country to his heir.

“Oh, moon goddess, how many more hindrances did you put on our path for peace?” Erik mumbled to himself and sighed.

He shook his head repeatedly and focused on finishing his paperwork.
