Chapter 38: Chapter 38
Tia's POV
I woke up very sore. I couldn't believe that we had sex multiple times until morning. I just came back from seclusion, and I am lying in bed. I squinted my eyes and looked at the window. It must be noon already.
I forced myself to get out of bed and headed toward the bathroom. I plan on visiting Clara at their house and seeing her new library. I also want to spend time and catch up with the girls.
I am still amazed at the multiple links I feel right now. Vincent taught me how to control and block it, I want to try mind-linking someone, and I thought about Vincent.
"What are you up to?" I asked, hoping that I mind-linked the right person.
"I'm still at the office, sweety," He answered. I got surprised at the sudden voice in my head and laughed at myself.
"You're a thousand years old and react like a child about the werewolves link," I mumbled.
I took a shower, changed, and always wore my witch clothes, like my suit. I don't wear pants, and I always wear white dresses. I looked at myself through the mirror and smiled at myself. I looked younger than before. This is one of the things that Merlin got obsessed with, looking more youthful.
The elders who were fond of her taught her how to look younger, but she had no patience, so she dismissed the seclusion method of becoming more youthful. I looked at myself one more time and then left the room.
I walked around the pack house and looked for Lia and Angela, but they were nowhere to be seen. Frustrated in not finding the two and still feeling sore, I made my way to Clara's library.
As I was walking, I remembered that I could mind-link them. This is one of the perks of being a werewolf. You can communicate with your mind. I focused on mind-linking Angela.
"Hey, where are you?" I asked.
"Aaaahhhhh!!!" Angela squealed, causing me to cover my head using my arms.
"Hey!" I exclaimed and felt embarrassed when some she-wolf approached me with an anxious face.
"Luna," She greeted and bowed. "Oh no, I'm sorry! It's the mind-link. I am still not used to it," I explained.
"Congratulations on completing your mating process, Luna!" She exclaimed. I thanked her and smiled. She then said her goodbyes and returned where she came from.
"Can you keep it down!" I scolded Angela. "Sorry about that. Where are you!" She asked, demanding me to tell her my whereabouts.
"I'm on my way to the Queen's library," I said.
"I will look for Lia, and we will follow you there," She said. I nodded and felt embarrassed again when I realized I was having a conversation through the mind-link.
"You nodded, didn't you?" Angela teased.
"Shut it!" I scolded her, and she giggled.
I shook my head in disbelief and walked toward the library of Clara.
I knocked.
Clara's POV
"Come in," I said when I heard someone knock.
The door opened a little, and Tia's head peeked behind the door. I laughed at her, "What are you doing?" I asked while laughing at her.
"Nothing," She said and fully entered the library. She sat down beside me while smiling.
"How were you?" She asked.
I smiled at her thoughtfulness. "I'm doing great. Erik and I had our first fight," I confessed.
"You and Erik fought?" She asked, not believing what she had heard.
"Yes, we fought," I said while laughing at her.
She gave a questioning look, and I told her the whole story of our fight.
"What a jerk," She said, feeling angry. I laughed again and held her hand, squeezing it tightly.
"Don't worry. Erik realized his mistake and apologized," I explained.
"Well, he better be!" She exclaimed.
I remembered what Tia said when she just came out yesterday from her seclusion that when she was setting up the barrier, she caught a glimpse of what was happening here, so a thought popped into my mind.
"Hey, Tia," I said softly.
"Hmm?" She answered while looking through the books.
"You said you caught a glimpse of what was happening here when you were in seclusion," I said.
"Yeah, what about it?" She answered from behind me.
She kept walking around the library, checking the books on the shelves. I turned on my sit and faced her. "Did you ever see someone unfamiliar on our land?" I asked.
Tia looked at me seriously, understanding that something had happened while she was gone. "What happened?" She asked using a threatening voice. I sighed and told her when I saw someone in the woods, but then it was gone.
"I didn't notice anyone. Did Erik try to search for that someone?" She asked.
"Yes, he did, together with Vincent and Ian. They found some of his tracks, and Ian followed it until the end of the southern part of the country, so we thought that it was a spy from the neighboring country," I informed her.
"But Erik dismissed that thought, saying that we should not assume without concrete evidence and that it can also be our enemies trying to divert our anger to the neighboring country," I added, telling her every detail.
"Well, he is right, and the neighboring countries will want to ally themselves with our country for trading, not for waging war," She explained, and I nodded at her.
Someone opened the door, and Tia and I simultaneously turned to see who it was. It was Angela, pushing a cart full of food. Lia also entered, following from behind of Angela. Angela served the food on the table, and we all sat. Both she-wolves who just entered keep on glancing at Tia while giggling.
"What happened?" I asked, curious.
"Tia completed her mating with Alpha Vincent," Lia said while giggling.
My eyes grew big while I looked at Tia. "Why didn't you tell me?" I exclaimed while hugging Tia.
"Congratulations!" Angela shouted.
"Thanks, girls," Tia said, feeling embarrassed.
"So how is it? Did something change?" I asked, curious about whether she would have a wolf or what.
"Nothing changed. I just got access to the pack link. I can do mind-linking, and my five senses heightened," Tia said.
I frowned at her, disappointed that she didn't get a wolf of her own. "What were you thinking?" Tia said, giving me a look. I gulped and avoided eye contact.
I faced the two who were busy gobbling their food. "Clara! What did you imagine?" She exclaimed.
"Nothing! I just thought you'd be having a wolf and that you could shift," I exclaimed, guilty.
"That only works if your mate is a human," She said.
"I have never seen one before, did you?" Lia asked.
"Three times," Tia said. I almost choked on my food when I heard she had seen a human being three times. I chewed and gulped my food faster so I could talk.
"What do they look like?" I asked. "Nothing much, they look like us, but they are normal and weak," Tia explained.
Angela mouthed an o, and Lia nodded. "I hope I'll see one," I whispered, curious at the other species besides us.
"Then open up the country to the human world," Tia said, making it sound easy.
"I will not. They will instantly wage war with us since we are different from them," I said.
"Not all of them are that bad, and it's just like here in our world or your kind. You have rogues," Tia said.
I see. I should try and open up this topic to Erik. "Well, I'm off," Lia said.
"Too soon?" I asked.
"Our mandatory training," She groaned. I frowned at her.
"Good luck with that," Angela said, eating a spoonful of food. Lia shook her head in disbelief and faced us properly.
"Your highness, Luna, I will be going now," She said. I smiled, and Tia dismissed her.
Angela gobbled her food and gulped it. "I'm sorry too, but I need to go now. I need to teach Edward how to count," She said and rushed outside.
"Being a warrior and a normal pack member is different," Tia said, and I laughed.
I took my cup of coffee and sipped. "By the way," I said while sipping my coffee again.
"Yeah?" Tia said while fixing the plates.
"Can you check up on Ellie?" I said. Since Tia is here, maybe she can do something about Ellie's headache and memory loss.
"What happened to her?" She asked.
"Erik and Ellie talked about the past. She told Erik the whole story about the attack here and his father's death. Ellie mentioned that they took cover on a hut in the territory, and that is where his father took his last breath," I explained.
"And?" Tia said, giving me a questionable look.
"When Erik and the others searched for the hut, it was not there, and Erik was confused. He lived here ever since he was a pup but never encountered a hut. He tried asking Ellie about the exact location of the hut, but Ellie would scream in pain whenever she tried to remember it." I added.
"That is confusing because I took a round in the territory when I first got here and never saw a hut," Tia said, full of questions in her head.
This is weird. Ellie won't lie about how her mate died unless someone messed up her memories.
"Anyways, you should try and take a look. The doctors don't know this kind of thing," I said.
"Yeah, I'll definitely will," Tia said while thinking deeply.
"By the way, Clara, you smell weird," Tia said. I smelled myself and didn't smell something wrong or weird.
"I smell normal. Why could you be smelling?" I said, confused.
"Never mind, I'm still not used to my heightened senses," Tia said, dismissing the topic.
We read some books before going out and walking around the pack. Tia stood and returned the books to the shelves.
"Clara, whose invitation is this?" Tia asked, raising a little brown envelope.
When I saw the envelope, it was from where Melissa was. I forgot about it, so I rushed toward Tia and took the envelope. I opened it and gasped. The little envelope contains an invitation to their wedding.
"Melissa is getting married next week!" I exclaimed.
"Thank the goddess that I found it. It seems that she sent you this a month early," Tia said, looking at the invitation.
"I need to tell this to Erik," I said. "I'm curious at his reaction," Tia said while smirking.
Tia knew that Erik would be shocked. It was hard for him to accept that Melissa had found a mate, and it was the Alpha who was active on the battlefield. He was so worried that he became grumpy for days until he had no choice but to accept, and Erik could not deny that her mate was trustworthy.
We fixed the books we used, and Tia, who enjoys using the mind-link, mind-linked someone to get the cart full of used plates and utensils.
Tia and I walked, linking arms, discussing everything we could think about. We heard Erik talking to someone when we arrived at Erik's office.
"Why are you here?" Erik asked.
"I need to rest," Vincent demanded to Erik.
Tia and I looked at each other and signaled me to stay quiet. "Let's listen for a bit," Tia whispered, and I nodded at her.
"Then rest," Erik said, his voice sounding confused.
"Okay," Vincent said, and we heard some movements.
"Why are you lying down on my sofa? Don't you have a house to rest on?" Erik asked, feeling irritated.
"I want to rest here," Vincent whined, and Tia and I were disgusted by his baby talking.
"Can you please stop bugging me and go away? Stop being so disgusting," Erik said, growling lowly at Vincent.
"Nope," Vincent teased and whistled.
Tia and I shook our heads in disbelief. "Kids," Tia mumbled and opened the door. When Vincent saw Tia, he immediately sat down properly and tried to look cool. Tia rolled her eyes at him and then faced Erik.
"We have news, right, Clara?" She said, and I smiled.
"Yep," I said and walked towards Erik.
Erik gave us a questioning look. "What is it, babe?" He asked me softly, putting his arms around my waist when I got close.
"Melissa sent me an invitation," I started. He looked up at me and gave me a look.
"What kind of invitation, love? Does she want you to visit her?" Erik asked, and I shook my head.
"It's her wedding invitation," I said carefully.
Erik's eyes grew big, and stand up from his chair, shouting.
"WHAT?!"
