Chapter 36: Chapter 36

Clara's POV

It's been weeks since we moved, and the forest started to change. Some new trees grew bearing some delicious fruits; we were surprised to see some trees full of fruits one morning. It seems that Tia is working hard. There is some barrier that is also starting form. There are two more weeks before Tia comes out from her seclusion. The enemies didn't make some more moves. They've been reticent.

Erik and I got busy doing some paperwork, and he was amazed that the Alphas worked fast, that we would be able to finish everything in a month, and that they will finally start building the wall. I am excited to see Tia, and I was wondering if her appearance changed.

Vincent became strict with the warriors. He continued observing their training and made them challenge Ian. He wanted them to have at least a challenge to a beta.

On the other hand, Angela comes here to cook our meals, and there are times when Ellie is the one who cooks and sometimes me. I was delighted when Angela cooked here in our house since he always brings Edward along. The house becomes lively when the pup is here.

I spend most of my time at the library, and sometimes I go to the pack house to hang out with Lia and Angela. Every time I look at both of them, I can't help but be thankful since I didn't have any sisters, and it is also astonishing that we got so close. Of course, Tia is one of them.

Erik kept on going out with Vincent searching for something. I didn't ask what it was since they said it was nothing serious, but I always feel that Erik is not telling me something. Erik will return to the house, change for our meeting, and go straight outside to continue their search. I will ask about it when I see the timing right.

I closed the book I was reading and looked at the door, waiting to hear some knock on the door since I heard someone walking.

"Come in," I said when I heard the knock.

"Your highness," Farkas greeted and bowed to me.

"What is it?" I asked softly.

"You've got a package from the south and a letter from the west," He reported.

"You can send it here," I said.

Farkas left, and for a few minutes, he returned carrying a box. He carefully put it down in front of me, and I opened it to see what was inside.

I gasped, seeing the box full of books. There was a letter inside, and I opened it.

"I hope you'll enjoy these books much as I wanted them. I'll be waiting for your books and always praying for your health and safety, your highness.

Luna Susie"

I smiled at her letter and immediately stood and looked around the library, searching for my favorite books to send her. I turned around to face Farkas.

"Can you get a box for me, please?" I asked.

"Yes, of course, your highness," He said and left the room.

I was busy searching for books for me to send to Luna Susie when I heard someone knock on the door. The door was already open, so I immediately saw who it was. It was Erik, and he was leaning in the doorway and smiling at me.

"I thought you continued your search again in the woods with Vincent?" I asked, looking back at the shelves to continue what I was doing.

"Vincent scolded me. He said they could search themselves, no need for the King to tag along," He said.

I laughed and smiled at him. "Can you help me then?" I asked.

"Sure, what should I do?" He said, walking towards me.

"Bring out the books from the box and put them on the table," I ordered.

"Yes, Ma'am," He said.

"Babe?" I asked.

"Yeah?" He answered while getting the books out of the box.

"What are you searching for?" I asked. I couldn't help to ask when I was now alone with him.

"A hut," He said.

"A hut? I had never seen one before. I've been running on the pack grounds for months now and never saw a hut," I said, confused. I never saw one, and how could Erik, who lived here longer than I can?

"Mom told me the whole story the other night," He replied, feeling sad.

I stopped what I was doing and walked toward him. "It was about how my dad got poisoned and how they killed our former pack members," He explained.

I sat close to him and held his hand. "Mom told me they escaped in a hut, so I was looking for it," He said.

"Did you ask your mom?" I asked.

"Yes, and when I asked her, she felt some intense headache that almost fell unconscious. It was like something, or someone is trying to block her from remembering," He said.

"What are your plans?" I asked.

"If Vincent can't find it, I will let it go and focus on raising troops," He said while grabbing my hand and kissing it.

"When are we going to live in peace?" I asked with full of sadness in my voice.

"Soon, love, we will have our peaceful lives soon," He said and grabbed me closer for a hug.

We broke the hug when someone knocked on the door. "Your highness, Your Majesty, I brought the box," He said.

"Thank you," I said, and he put the box beside me.

I looked at Erik and pointed at the books I had gathered to send Luna Susie.

"Put those books here," I ordered, giving him the empty box Farkas got for me.

Erik started to do the task I gave him, and I checked the books Susie sent me one by one. We stayed in the library for hours. After Erik packed the books, he sat beside me and started reading. It was a nice moment that we shared, sitting next to each other and reading books until it got dark.

Ellie called us into the kitchen to eat our dinner. We three ate quietly until Ellie broke the silence. "I'm sorry," She said. Her apology surprised me; I didn't know what to say.

"It's okay, mom. I didn't expect anything," He said softly while eating his food.

I calmed when I realized it was about the hut that Erik had kept searching for days. "I remember the hut, but when I think of its location, my mind starts to ache, and I don't know why," She explained, looking at Erik sadly.

"Don't worry about It, mom, don't stress too much on that. We will eventually find another clue on the true mastermind of the attack in our pack in the past," He said, reaching out his mother's hand on the other side of the table. Ellie smiled and continued eating her food.

After dinner, we decided to go to our room to rest. I took a bath, and Erik followed. When we were on the bed lying side by side, I felt Erik's loneliness, regrets, and anger through our mate link. I scooted closer to him and hugged him.

"We will get through this like we always do," I whispered to him. He hugged me tightly, sniffed my scent, and kissed my forehead.

"I'm just thinking about why there are werewolves who kept on betraying another," He said.

"All of this will end soon, about Klaus, everything," I said.

He broke the hug and looked at me. He kissed me on my lips softly and bit them to gain access. I opened my mouth slightly, and he immediately deepened the kiss. My hands started to roam his chest, and I traced my fingers on his abs.

He moaned on our kiss and moved to position himself from above me. He ripped my clothes instantly, and I saw his wolf surface. I kissed him and deepened the kiss immediately. His hand started to have its way on my private part, causing me to squirm in pleasure.

"Erik, stop teasing me, please," I whined and looked at him with puppy eyes. He lowly growled and thrust his fingers on my private part to make it wet.

When he felt that my private part was ready, he slowly inserted his big junior, and I bit my lip, trying to stop myself from screaming in pleasure. His whole was entirely inside me, and he positioned my legs correctly before he started to thrust hard.

"Oh, oh, ugh, Erik, ugh, yes, yes, more," I moaned loudly.

Erik leaned on me and started kissing me passionately. I kissed him back, my nails scratching his back. His thrust became even faster and harder. He thrusts until both of our moans are the only thing you can hear throughout the room.

We did it a few more times until Erik got drained. He carried me bridal style, put me in the bathtub, and scooted beside me. We are in the bathtub together, enjoying the warm water mixed with a lovely bath soap that smells good. After we cleaned ourselves, we changed and returned to bed. His arm is instantly on my neck, becoming my pillow.

I thought about Luna Rica's words about an heir and looked at Erik.

"If we had a child, I hope he looks like you," I said to Erik.

He grunted and looked at me. "I hope not. I prefer it, my pup, to look beautiful as you," He said.

"But," He added and paused. I looked at him, waiting for his following words.

"We can't have a child now," He said seriously. I completely broke the hug and looked at him seriously.

"If I got pregnant accidentally, what would you do?" I asked, feeling dejected.

"That would be impossible. I am cautious," He scoffed. I grimaced at his words and turned my back on him.

He hugged me from behind, and I felt his guilt in our bond. I know and understand what he means. I also don't want to have a child right now with Klaus on the loose, but it hurts that he didn't even think about the possibility.

I let my sleep take over me even when feeling sad at our last conversation.

Erik's POV

"Babe, let's eat?" I asked Clara, who had just finished changing and now fixing her hair.

She stopped responding to me and avoided some conversation since we both woke up.

I hoped she'd understand that I do not want to think about a child when we have so many things to think about. The wall on the borders was just built, and we also have enemies that we need to look out for, but I didn't know that it would hurt her like this.

She also blocked me on our mate link, so I don't know what she is currently feeling. Whenever I try to get closer to her, she always gives me a terrifying look. She finished styling her hair, stood, and left the room without looking at me. I sighed and headed to the kitchen. When I arrived at the kitchen, only my mother was sitting at the dining table. I looked around the kitchen and didn't find Clara.

"Hey, mom," I walked toward her and kissed her. "Hi, good morning, son," She greeted. "Where's Clara?" I asked, still looking around the kitchen, hoping to find her. "Clara mind-linked me, saying she needs to rest because she's not feeling well," My mom said with a confused look. "Didn't you come out from your room?" She asked.

"Oh no, mom, I left early to do some paperwork in the office," I reasoned, not wanting to worry her about our little fight. I served some food on my mother's plate before serving my plate. We ate peacefully, and I took some food with me for Clara. I made my way towards the library, knocked a few times, and when no one answered, I entered.

"How long are you going to avoid me, babe?" I asked, putting the plate full of food on Clara's table.

I looked around and saw no one. Where is she now? I sighed and took the plate to return it to the kitchen. Since I don't have any paperwork and meetings for today, I decided to head towards the pack house and pester Vincent.

I didn't bother to knock at his office and entered directly. "Can you knock?" He said, raising a brow at me.

"I can't, sorry," I said, shrugging my shoulders.

"Why are you here?" Vincent asked, feeling frustrated that I disturbed his work.

"Okay, here's the thing," I said and sat down at the chair beside his table in front of him.

He rolled his eyes, and I just let him be. "Clara and I fought," I said, starting my story.

"And?" He asked, feeling uninterested.

"We talked about having a child, and I said I don't want to because of our current situation," I said, stood, and started pacing around in his office.

"You just said that? In front of her?" He said he couldn't believe that I said that to Clara.

"Yes, am I wrong to say what's true? It's not that I don't have any plans to have a child, but not now. She also asked what will I do when she accidentally got pregnant. I replied that it's impossible because I am cautious," I explained, and he stared at me with his mouth wide open.

"You stupid king," He said, shaking his head.

"Why, what did I do? Everything I said made sense," I said, proving my point.

"Don't ask me, you insensitive fool," He said, shaking his head again.

I grunted, feeling frustrated. Using my fingers, I brushed my hair upwards to the back of my head. I thought about everything I had said to her. Am I wrong for mentioning our problems within the pack and the country? Am I wrong to tell her that I don't want a child right now in our current situation? Every time I thought about it, I couldn't of anything wrong that came out to my words.

Seeing that I was deep in thought, Vincent sighed, "Bro, tell her you want a child in the future, and you hope that your child won't be born in our current situation. Stop telling her you don't want a child. When she asked if she got pregnant accidentally, you should have said, I will do everything in my power to protect the both of you, not that you scoff at her and tell her that it's impossible because you are careful, you ignorant friend of mine," He said.

Listening to Vincent's words made me realize my mistake. I pushed the fact that I didn't want a child and even showed her that I was confident that she would not be getting pregnant since I was cautious about not making her pregnant. I even used our problems as an excuse that it seemed like I was so scared of having a child.

"But who doesn't," I thought.

"Go and take her from Lia and Angela. They're at Ian's office," He said.

"Talk to her properly, don't show her too much of your pride. You may be the King, but she is your equal. Talk to her as your wife, your partner, not like she was just your woman," He advised.

"Yeah, I'm sorry about this," I said and left.

I made my way towards his office of Ian, and I was about to knock when I heard Clara's voice.

"Can you believe what he said?" Clara exclaimed.

"What?!" Lia exclaimed, irritation in her voice evident.

"He scoffed and said that's impossible since I am cautious," Clara exclaimed, mimicking my voice while repeating what I said.

"What! He said that to your face?!" Angela said, full of anger. Farkas, who was standing outside also hearing their conversation, gulped at the situation. He was scared I would punish his mate by being angry at me.

"Is he even thinking?! How could he say that to your face and be confident!" Lia exclaimed, also angry at me.

"I don't even know what to say! I understand what he meant about our situation, and I don't even want to give birth to my child knowing that Klaus is out there! But he doesn't need to slap the words into my face and make it seems like he doesn't want a child, making our situation some excuse! What a coward!" Clara shouted angrily. This was the first time she got mad at me, and this made me feel dejected.

I sighed and looked at Farkas. "Don't tell them that I was here," I said.

"Yes, your majesty," he replied.

And with that, I left and went home. I stayed in our room, sitting on the side of our bed, waiting for Clara to return. A few hours later, someone knocked, and I got excited, hoping it was my mate.

But to my surprise, it was Angela. "Your majesty," She greeted

"What brings you here?" I asked, masking my disappointment.

"Her highness sent me to fetch some of her clothes. She will be staying at the library," She said.

I growled, starting to feel angry at Clara's actions. "Go back to the pack house, now," I ordered threateningly.

I rushed to the library, stormed my way in, and looked for Clara. I saw her sitting on the sofa, reading some sort of book. I stomped towards her.

"Are you some sort of a child?!" I exclaimed.

"What did you just say?!" Clara said, standing up and glaring at me with her golden eyes.

"This madness needs to stop!" Even when my wolf started getting scared of her, I talked back at her.

And the next thing I knew, I was pushed outside the library. She used her powers to send me out of the room.

"You've got to be kidding me," I whispered while staring at the closed door of the library.
