Chloe's Point Of View

The door opens to my apartment, and I turn to see Axel standing there looking at me. He is covered in blood. He is now in his human form, nude, and looks worn. I have never seen him like this. He is upset and not himself.

"Why did you come?" I ask him.

He moves toward me slowly, and I take a step backward. "Just because I asked you for help does not mean that I forgive you," I say to him. He stops.

"Forgive me? I have done nothing to be sorry for, and I did not kill your parents. My father was not the Alpa that killed your parents. I tried to make up for it by looking out for your brother. I am not that Alpha, and I never will be; neither was my father. What I am is your mate, and I love you, Chloe. Please come back with me and be my wife," Axel says. He moves quickly toward me and touches my face.

I begin to cry. I cannot stop myself. The emotions of knowing his pack killed my parents and that is the pack I will be Luna of is so much to take in. Is this what I want? My wolf howls for him, and I am on fire for him. I do love him, and I do want to be his wife.

"I need to know everything," I say.

Axel shakes his head. "I do not know everything. I know the former Alpha has problems with your father, but father knew, but he felt it was better to let it alone. He defeated Alpha and made things better for the Shadow Creek Pack, and I plan to do the same. I want to continue his legacy, and you can help me. Come back with me," Axel begs me. His eyes are wet.

I do not think I have ever seen a man cry before. "You can never lie to me, and you have to promise me always to tell me everything even if you think it will hurt me," I say.

Axel gathers me into his big strong arms. I lay my head on his chest. "I promise always to be honest with you," Axel says.

"I will return with you to Shadow Creek and be your Luna," I say.

Axel takes my mouth. His kiss sends a shock wave through my body. "We have to go," Axel says, releasing me from his hold.

"The wedding is still on," Axel shouts.

Axel takes my hand and pulls me close to him. "I love you," I say to him.

"I love you too," Axel says.

We rush out of the apartment building. The SUVs are waiting for us. I get in one SUV and Axel in another. He and I are going to separate locations to prepare for the wedding. There is still so much to do even after all the excitement of the night. I wonder how much more excitement there will be. I smile. I hope only the good kind.

My SUV pulls into the main house, and several she wolves come out to help me. "We have your dress and shoes, Luna," One of the she wolves says as she helps me out of the SUV.

"Thank you," I say.

I can hear some wolves talking about the funeral, but I cannot make out what they are saying. "Is the funeral over?" I ask.

"No, they are waiting for you and Axel. I understand you had to return to your apartment for your wedding bands," one of the she wolves inquires.

"I had something to take care of that was important," I say.

The other wolves help me to dress. I think about the evening and everything that has happened. My Alpha saved me from my ex even after walking out on him. He covered me with his pack, saying I needed something from the apartment. He took care of my image in front of his pack and did not let anyone know anything that was happening to protect me first. He put me before his pack. He put me first.

I look at myself in the mirror. The she wolves have stepped back and are looking at the dress on me. "You look amazing," one of the wolves says.

"I am happy," I answer her.

I am happy. Alpha Axel is the first man or wolf to put me first. He put me first. I cannot stop repeating that to myself. "He put me first," I finally say it out loud. It hits hard. I want to cry, but I do not wish to puff up my face.

"He is waiting for you," Andrea, one of Axel's Betas. She came in to see how I looked. "You look amazing, and I am happy for both of you."

Andrea smiles as I see Alpha Axel waiting for me. His long hair is coming down his over his tux. The white tux looks amazing on him. He is sexy. He smiles at me. "You put me first," I say as I run toward him.

I leap into his arms and kiss him on the lips. "What?" He asks me. "What did you say?" He asks me again.

"No one has ever put me first. No one, Axel, until you. I was always last. But you, you made me the priority, and you did not have to do that," I say.

Axel takes my hand. "Yes, I do. You are my Luna, and you will always come first. Not only to me but to the pack. We will love you and protect you as our most precious. Do you understand that?" Axel asks me.

I look into his eyes. "But your mother said that I would no longer matter," I ask him.

"She was bitter, and you know it. The pack did not love her the way they will love you. Just look at the way the she wolves adore you?" Axel says.

I look around at the she wolves. They are watching Axel and me. I am genuinely amazed by the love I can feel in the room. Axel leans over and kisses me. "Now, come with me and say I do. I have big plans for us tonight," Axel says.

I take his hand, and he leads me to the ceremony.
