Chapter 56: Chapter 56

Mia Redgrave stood at the other end of the red carpet, eyes fixed unblinkingly on Ethan Sterling’s direction.

Jonathan Redgrave noticed Mia’s tense anticipation and gently patted her hand: "Someone like Ethan, there’s no need to pursue too aggressively. Winning the Star Burning Cup’s gold award this time will naturally make him interested in you."

Mia pursed her lips and replied softly.

As long as she stood on that podium, Ethan would definitely see her and like her.

Just thinking about it, Ethan, who had already stepped out of the car, suddenly turned back, extending his hand to the still-open car door.

Mia subconsciously frowned; the next second, a slender, fair hand reached out from the car, resting on Ethan’s outstretched hand.

The woman in the car was helped out by Ethan. From a distance, one could only vaguely make out her tall figure, seemingly a good match for Ethan.

All the journalists picked up their cameras aiming at the pair stepping out of the car, and Mia couldn’t help but watch, trying to figure out who the woman was. However, Ethan led her into the art gallery.

Moreover, behind Ethan were either bodyguards or security, completely taking the two out of Mia’s sight. Mia couldn’t see anything, only knowing that the woman in front had a black short skirt.

Even the media didn’t manage to get a frontal photo of that woman.

"Who is she? Isn’t it said that Young Master Sterling doesn’t have a woman? How come we have no information at all?"

Mia frowned, her face showing tension.

"She’s just a female companion. What’s there to worry about? Besides, even if she really is Ethan’s woman, it’s okay."

Jonathan Redgrave comforted with a pat on Mia’s shoulder: "My daughter is so beautiful that even celebrities in the entertainment industry can’t keep up. Once Ethan sees your appearance, how could he not like you?"

Mia touched her face; her father was right. She was so beautiful, and having gotten a special makeover today to see Ethan, how could she not compare to the woman Ethan brought?

Jonathan saw his daughter regaining her confidence, smiled and squinted his eyes, patted her hand, and then they both entered the art gallery.

As they walked in, what caught their eyes were paintings and calligraphy from various countries and eras, some even rare and invaluable pieces.

Walking through the long corridor, they arrived at the hall, which was the venue for the Star Burning Cup finals.

Seraphina Redgrave watched Ethan hold her hand tightly, helplessly wanting to roll her eyes. All the guests who brought female companions had the women place their arms around the gentlemen’s, but Ethan instead pulled her hand, as if afraid she’d run away.

Holding hands was fine, but almost everyone along the way was watching them.

Moreover, the CEO of the organizer had been prattling alongside them, from the history of the art gallery to the origin of each collection, and today’s competition, chattering non-stop, making Seraphina’s head hurt.

She finally understood why Ethan would be willing to bring her out. With the attitude of these people towards Ethan, even if she really did something outrageous, those people would likely praise her for being quite a character.

She followed beside Ethan, and many were almost glued to their presence, yet not a single person dared to ask about her identity.

"Young Master Sterling, should we head to the audience seats?"

Ethan nodded, and the person beside him hurriedly led Ethan and Seraphina forward.

Though the competition venue wasn’t large, it was arranged to be very visually appealing, quite simple and elegant.

The Westmoore Art Gallery lived up to its name as the most famous art gallery in the world.

"Young Master Sterling, the first three rows are the VIP section for this competition. We’ve specially arranged a center spot in the first row for you. Are you satisfied?"

The organizer’s CEO spoke respectfully.

Ethan didn’t speak, glancing at Nathan Ayers beside him. Nathan timely stepped forward and said, "Everyone, please continue your duties. I’ll handle things here for Young Master Sterling."

No one dared to disobey the first assistant beside Young Master Sterling. After acknowledging Ethan, they left.

Seraphina was led by Ethan to sit in the center of the first row, indeed a great spot with a wide view.

Once seated, Ethan held Seraphina’s hand with one hand, while the other wrapped around the back of her chair, as if enfolding her in an embrace.

Seraphina remained expressionless, staring fixedly at the stage.

Ethan tilted his head to look at Seraphina’s dumbfounded expression, speaking quietly, "Don’t be nervous. Even if you really go crazy today and turn the Westmoore Art Gallery upside down, I can get you out unharmed."

His breath was warm, cascading on Seraphina’s ear.

Seraphina still showed no expression.

She had no interest in dismantling the place; it was quite considerate of Ethan to have thought so thoroughly.

Seeing that she didn’t even twitch an eyelid, Ethan didn’t comment further, only ruffled the girl’s seaweed-like hair.

Nathan suddenly walked over to Ethan’s side, bending down to speak, "Young Master Sterling, there’s a call from the overseas company. There’s an urgent matter that needs immediate attention."

Upon hearing this, Ethan’s hand lightly brushed under Seraphina’s chin, speaking softly, "I’ll be right back."

Seraphina still showed no sign of reaction.

Ethan stood up and walked toward the exit, just in time to meet Jonathan and Mia coming in.

Mia had brushed away the earlier gloom, her face blooming into a smile, eagerly approaching Ethan: "Young Master Sterling, I am Mia..."

Before she could finish a few words, Ethan passed her with a solemn face, as she abruptly moved closer, bumping directly into Mia’s shoulder.

Mia hadn’t reacted in time, suddenly losing her balance, reaching out to grab Ethan’s sleeve.

Ethan halted his steps outward, glancing with displeasure at the inexplicably pestering woman, his exceptionally handsome face full of discontent.

Even with evident disdain.

Mia was drawn in by his captivating eyes, even starting to feel shy: "Young Master Sterling..."

"If you want to live, let go."

Ethan stated coldly, each word carrying a chill, with the atmosphere around dropping significantly.

Mia, who had always been doted on by men, had never been treated this way, immediately freezing, unsure of what to do.

Jonathan realized the awkward atmosphere, quickly pulling Mia away: "Young Master Sterling, I apologize. My daughter was merely..."

With nothing in his way, Ethan didn’t even glance at Mia and exited the door, leaving the father and daughter awkwardly standing at the entrance.

Mia stared at where Ethan left, feeling rather lost. For more chapters visıt novel_fіre.net

Jonathan’s expression wasn’t pleasant, yet he still patted his daughter’s shoulder: "Once you’re on the podium, he’ll naturally turn his attention to you."

Mia retracted her gaze, appearing visibly disinterested.

Jonathan led Mia into the room, by now most of the seats were filled.

Mia, almost possessed, scanned the venue for every woman in a black small dress, not finding anyone more beautiful, slowly regaining her confidence.

Unexpectedly turning her head, she saw Seraphina sitting in the very center of the first row.

This witch dared to show up in such a public place? Her dad nearly turned Sovereign inside out, and yet this witch hid herself so well that no one knew her whereabouts.

Seeing Seraphina reminded Mia of her ruined birthday party, twisting her face in rage; she tugged at Jonathan next to her.

Jonathan also saw Seraphina, his expression unpleasant, leading Mia to the first row, taking the two seats beside Seraphina.

Seraphina was lost in thoughts when she suddenly smelled a strong fragrance, looking up to meet Mia’s twisted in fury face.

She turned, looking towards Nathan’s position.

Being Ethan’s assistant, Nathan naturally had his seat, though further back, somewhat far from Seraphina. At this moment, he was busy sketching on a tablet, likely handling documents.

"How did you get in?"

Mia asked through gritted teeth, her eyes burning with anger almost manifesting.

On hearing this, Seraphina chuckled, tilting her head, staring at Mia with a bloodthirsty look: "Miss Redgrave, you sure healed fast from your wounds. Seems the incidents with Kaelor didn’t teach you a lesson."
