**BEAUTY'S POV**

"What ,what ,gosh am dead!"

I woke up following that loud scream from Bruno,only to realize that I had slept off,while typing those documents. I carefully removed a paper glued to my cheek ,slowly I glanced at the blurred image of Bruno opposite me.

"What's wrong baby"i asked and yawned tiredly. He ignored me for a minute, i became worried.

I tried again praying I don't upset him.

"Baby...".

"why didn't you wake me ,the time you done typing?"he fumed without looking up at me,moving the documents to and fro.

I could tell he was really mad by that sound in his voice,I can't do all this to be over.

I was careless and he is right to be mad at me for it,I just hope the damages won't be much.

"Baby...when you slept off, I wanted to you rest,you've really worked tirelessly and..need to ...

"Really?...oh please don't sound stupid Beauty!"he snapped,his brows arched and his nose expanded a little bit,he bit his lower lips and continued work the files.

I tried to talk things out with him.

"Don't baby me please..you have done more than enough "

My face turned pale at that statement.

He continued "and don't give me that look like I am being hard on you,no okay I, carefully explained to you that this work is in important, let's put aside the emotions,I never wanted you to help in the first place. Look just stay away and let me handle it,then we will get back to together, now I swear to finish this task yesterday but here we are ,look what am I left with!".

Tears clouded my eyes. I couldn't even say speak out what's in my mind,his word were so harsh,all I could do was cry,I only meant well,and it seems I am only making things worse for us,maybe I should listen and distance myself from him.

He took his phone from the table,pacing round the room restlessly while dailing a number.

"Yeah, can you please cancel the appointment, I know ..I know but I didn't make it,I know I was so careless, what about Ferd he is the CEO,What?...Ferd wants to resign,not now...the company needs him now,iwhat's going to happen if the other employees get to found out about it,this is bad ...this is so bad"he snapped out.

I stood there still crying, he acted like I was invisible ,he walked put if the room still talking on th phone. I had to console myself and

I picked my bag the food flask and other stuffs ,and decided to leave before our co_ workers get here and see the two of us.

A motorcyclist cursed out loud at me,it starled me,I was almost got hitten by his motorcycle.

Quickly in a panic,i stood out of the road, staring at the floor,wetting the dry ground with my tears.

I waved at a cab and went back home but half way I changed my mind,I don't want to home straight,i decided to drop at jessi place,my heart was so happy,I can't face my parents with a face like this.

I got to Jessi's place and met her on outside the compound,she was all dressed up for work.

She was really suprised to see me at her place this early.

"What.....girl where you coming from dressed like that,ain't you gonna work today?"she asked curiously but I said nothing.

"Beauty?,what's wrong?"

"hey!!"she yelled at me annoyed but still i ignored her and walked into the room

She followed me in,and saw me crying on the couch ,she sighed and came to sit beside me,she put my head on her laps and started pat my hair softly.

"What is wrong honey?"

"it happened again Jessi ,I think he doesn't love me anymore, just like the others maybe this is also an excuse to get rid of me,am I getting fat,did I get fatter? and uglier recently?,I promise I was on diet since we started dating,I really want to look better for him

I broke down crying out loud.

"Shhhh..."Jessi whispered and hugged me as i broke down in her arms.

"What am I supposed to do now Jessi,I am losing him"i cried bitterly then coughed out.

"Let me get you a drink,you will feel better"she said and pecked my forehead.

Few seconds after she came back with a glass of juice.

"Here take this"she said and handed me the glass, patting my back gently,I took it and almost finished it up then I choked and coughed out crying again.

"What will I do to myself Jessi,I should end my life for good"i cried more.

"Hey shhh,you are beautiful, stop that silly talk,you aren't even fat,there's a difference,let me get you,what did Bruno do this time?"she asked with a serious look on her face.

I tried to control my tears so I can explain clearly to her.

"It all started back then ,I went to see his father,he...

I paused

"He ..what now?"Jessi asked impatiently.

"He asked me to do something in order to accept me into his family,then Bruno came up with this problem at the company, it was so bad ,he lost himself and asked me to stay away till it's fixed,i wanted to help but end up making it worse for him".

"So there is a problem in our company ,I knew it!,and about Bruno..is that all he said to you? comeon girl maybe he is that type that need a whole concentration on something, give him a little bit of time,don't say he now hates you or maybe it got to do with you getting fat or ugly Bruno loves you more than you think believe me".

She said softly and smiled at me and she pecked me but I was still expressionless.

"I want to quit Jessi".

She looked at me shocked and also disappointed.

"Don't be silly,Bea".

"I have to give him the space he needed, but I guess I love him soo much, I just cant live without him,so maybe quitting all this will have me get him off my head"i sobbed and cried more.

**JESSI'S POV**

Please don't make me cry,stop it Bea already,I screamed in my head,Beauty is really hurting have never seen her this sas before.

I watched her silently gently patting her back,then she wanted to drink more from the glass of juice,I offered her back then.

"No Beauty stop... stop".

But she was stubborn so I had to grab it forcefully from her ,she pouted as I did that,I too the glass and went to pour away the drink in the kitchen sink.

"What's wrong,you offered me the drink bow you've taking it away ,you are mean"she snapped and continued crying.

I stood motionless in the kitchen and thought very hard about her former statement concerning Mr Hathaway. What exactly is the task that Mr Hathaway asked her to do? What if it was... I grabbed my chest ,what have I done!

Last night I was invited by Mr Hathaway,he told me about his concern towards Bruno and Beauty,he said he suspected Bea to be a gold digger and a snitch,I ofcourse assure gim that Beauty is a good person and genuine, he should know better since she worked for him all these years. He was doubtful but then he said he wanted to make sure she is being truthful about loving Bruno and not being a gold digger.

So he paid me to put a drug in Beauty's drink so as to make her answer his questions truthfully.

As soon as Beauty ,came down from down from the taxi hours ago,I sent him a message, so they can do the questioning under my supervision ,I don't trust him enough to put a certain drug in Beauty's drink and left her with him.

But now that I thought about this,I became scared for Beauty.I went back nervously and found her undressing.

She nodded ,and flashed her teeth.

I sobbed remembering want happened with Bruno

I looked up and found her crying

What could have made Jessi cry,she was really a strong girl that can get over anything easily.

"Jessi ,what happened please talk to me"

Jessi stared at me for a while then sudden tears rolled down her cheeks

"I wanted to commit suicide Beauty".

"What!"I snapped out,i was shocked and confused too,all of a sudden Jessi was talking about attempting suicide, why...what did I miss,she was advising me last time, what's wrong with her now.

I quickly stood and hugged her tightly.

"Don't cry Jessi am here ,please be strong for me".I whispered sobby.

My body was paining me severely, I was groaning and enduring this unexplainable pains,I wonder if because I slept for a long time.

Jessi cried more in my arms.

"Tell me what happened Jessi ,please don't say such again,remember what i've been through,you can talk to me,suicide is not an option. Jessi please tell me what it is am your best friend, you've been the one helping me through my hard times".

She hugged me and cried loudly.

"Am sorry Beauty I can't take it anymore,am shattered inside"she cried again l.

"Shhh it's okay"i whispered at her and orcled her head.

I sighed deeply.

What's happened, why is Jessi so depressed,I have to be strong and protect her,I won't go back to the company either and that means am finally saying goodbye to Bruno".

Tears rolled down my cheeks .

"Am sorry Beauty,please don't hate me"Jessi continued crying

**A WEEK LATER**

**BRUNO'S POV**

I can't believe it,it's over,it's finally over ,I did it!.The applause from the executives were loud enough to cause an earthquake,I recieved handshakes from them and outside ,I got hugs from our co-workers but I didn't see any sign of Beauty ,or even her friend Jessi,alot of congratulatory messages flooded my mail boxes.

Our company is back to the top of the fashiondom,I got back to my office after the cheering from the employees,I was happy ,my design and work payed off at last but something was missing.

I gazed over Beauty's post,it's been a week she stopped coming to work,I should be blamed ofcourse,i was harsh on her but I hope I back make her see things the way I do and hope she will forgive me soon. I only told her to pretend that am just Bruno for the moment and not to leave the company,I missed her so much".

I walked into my private office,restless,I tried her number but it wasn't going

I got to swallow the shame and go to her house,I went out if the company and entered my car hastily.

I kept repeating those words in my head as I drove carelessly ,heading to her place.
