Chapter 40: Chapter 40
Rebecca spent the whole day searching for new companies to apply to there with great hope.
Her friend Julia when coming back from her work finds Rebecca still looking at different websites for job vaccines.
Julia sighed helplessly while she came and sat on a single sofa across from Rebecca's seat.
"Rebecca, don't let yourself be too tired! We can work together! You know that!" She looked at her tired eyes and spoke out.
Rebecca gently smiled and moved her vision from the screen to Julia.
"I know that! But there is nothing more for me to do at home, so I just thought of searching for some more websites!" Rebecca explained.
Julia knows this is a half-truth but she didn't point it out. Rebecca just doesn't want to pressure her too much.
"Alright, if that's the case! So, did you get any response from these new companies or did you find any reasonable company for applying?" Julia asked while she started losing her tied hair to let them freely flow.
Rebecca sighed and shook her head in denying.
"No!"
"There is still no news about a response while there is no reasonable company who wants a pregnant woman as their employee!" She explained with a low and tired tone.
Julia didn't find her statement shocking. She just nodded in response.
"Alright, don't be down!" She tried to motivate her friend.
"Julia, I think I should apply to libraries and cafes for the job!"
"Only a part-time job can help me now! Because these big companies are so complicated with their rules!" Rebecca truly felt waiting for a big company's response didn't get her anything.
She always worked hard for her studies in the past, so one day she can achieve a great job but now her hope has started to shatter. With her condition, she can't waste her time anymore!
"Babes! Don't think like that!" Julia felt upset to see Rebecca talking like this.
She's just pregnant! Not get a disease! But why these big companies don't want her friend like she got a plague which affects them?
"This cruel world always treats a woman like an option!" Julia muttered with frustration.
Rebecca heard her and felt relatable with her words.
She looked at Julia's serious expression and sighed to think that because of her own struggle, Julia's life was also affected and she was losing her careless mood.
When she was thinking about Julia.
On the other side, Julia's mind got a brilliant idea for Rebecca's job issue which made her serious expression change with an excited one.
"Rebecca, I found the solution!" Julia exclaimed while pressing her both hands.
Rebecca came back from her thoughts and looked at her with a confused expression.
"What solution?" She asked.
Hearing her Julia grinned and showed her bright teeth.
"About your Job! I have a great plan!" Julia announced which made Rebecca's face look at her with enlarged stares.
"What plan do you have?" Rebecca asked to feel curious.
Julia looked at her and responded," You need to hide your pregnancy!"
"What??" Rebecca was shocked.
"Yes, you just don't need to mention your pregnancy in your details!"
"Just hide it and get your job!"
Julia declared but Rebecca's face turned serious.
"I can't lie about this!!" She announced without thinking any second.
Julia sighed to see her stubborn friend.
"Rebecca! First, think carefully and then decide! It's not like you are doing some crime. It's just like you don't need to tell anyone about your pregnancy, that's it! Just hide this fact for your and baby's future!"
Rebecca felt confused in her heart hearing her while Julia continued her words.
"Babes! Why don't you get it?"
"This is not the time to get stubborn! You need a job and this is the only way left for you!"
Julia's expression this time turned serious while her eyes were directly focused on her friend's face.
Rebecca becomes silent and thinks about her words.
Julia last time glanced at her before standing up from her couch.
"You can think about it and then answer me!" Julia said and went to her room.
Rebecca silently looked at Julia's back figure while her mind thought about her suggestion.
NEXT MORNING
"Julia, don't eat too fast! It can't digest properly!" Rebecca felt worried to see her friend eating too fast. She even thought Julia was not chewing her food properly.
"Rebecca! I'm already too late to go to the office! Now eating slowly only makes my time worse!" Julia mumbled between eating.
Rebecca sighed and held her temple.
"Alright! But please try to chew it properly or else you will get digestion issues!" Rebecca's voice filled with concern.
Julia didn't argue and just nodded to her.
Rebecca felt relieved and started eating her own breakfast which is just some fruits Because she got the worst morning sickness today.
After finishing eating, Julia couldn't help but ask Rebecca what she did think about her suggestion?
Rebecca, who was silently eating, stopped to hear her.
She looked at her with a serious expression.
"Julia, I think you are right!"
Julia's mouth half opened to hear her while her eyes blinked in disbelief.
She never thought Rebecca could agree on her suggestion even without a huge argument with her.
"What did you say?" Julia asked.
Rebecca sighed to see her reactions.
"I mean! I'm ready to hide my pregnancy!" Rebecca declared while continuing her words.
"I thought last night about your suggestion and you are right! With my condition, it's hard to get a job so let's just hide it!" She added.
Julia's lips curled up to hear her words.
"That's great!! You made the right decision babes and I'm proud of you!" She exclaimed with happiness.
Rebecca chuckled to see her reaction.
"Rebecca, tonight we will apply again to some new companies, and this time we can hope for the best!" Julia was excited while Rebecca nodded to her in reply.
Actually, she still feels uncomfortable with this lie but seeing no option she just agreed with that.
She will not utter about pregnancy but what about her pregnancy symptoms.
Just thinking that she felt uneasy in her heart.
