Chapter 170: Chapter 170
The old lady placed the key on the door and tried to unlock it. But it does not work. She felt confused and tried again. However, still, it's not working.
Edwin, who is behind her, asked with seriousness.
"What happened?"
"I don't know. But the key is not working." She explained showing the key to him.
Edwin looked at it and said, "I'll try."
The lady nodded and gave it to him.
Edwin approached the door and tried to unlock the door with the key but no matter how many times he tried the door was not unlocked. The Key is not working.
Edwin turned and looked at the lady with an intense face, "The key is wrong."
Lady felt surprised and asked him to give the key back.
Edwin did that and she glanced at the key.
She soon realized he is right. She is trying the wrong key the whole time.
"Oh! So sorry, dear! You are right. The key is misplaced." After apologizing, she looked at another key in the key ring.
She chooses another one to match the past.
"Here is it." She showed the right key.
"This is the right one. Please try it." She gave him back.
Edwin nodded and immediately tried it and the door unlocked in one go.
Both of them entered and looked around the empty corridor and benches.
The old lady turned her gaze at Edwin and said, "Dear, my husband should be in the cabin and I guess Rebecca should be there also as she's not here."
Edwin nodded.
"Let's go there and check." Edwin first agreed with her but then told her he would wait for her. Just ask her to come here.
The old lady nodded with a small smile.
"Alright, I'll be back with her fast." Edwin slightly nodded while the lady went inside and walked towards the old man's cabin. However, when she opened it, She found no one was there. The cabin was empty.
"Where is he?" She mumbled to herself and closed the cabin door to watch around.
However, the next moment, she heard some kind of sound coming from another corner. She thought he could be there and walked in that direction.
She walked only halfway when her feet were hit by something. She frowned and looked down to check.
But what she witnessed made her shocked as her eyes widened with fright. Her palm automatically moved to her mouth and pressed against it.
She horrifyingly kneels down and looks at her unconscious hubby on the corner floor and the thing she hits was his leg.
"H…Honey…" Her voice almost choked to see him unconscious in front of her. While tears tucked into her corners to let go any moment.
She moved to his head side instantly and tried to wake him, "Honey! Honey! Wake up!"
She tried to shake him and lightly pat his cheeks to get him up.
"Honey! What happened to you?"
However, no matter how much she tried nothing worked and at last she shouted his name with stress.
"Honey!" She was scared to think he would leave her.
While on the other side hearing her voice Edwin comes rushing toward her direction.
But watching the old man in that condition he felt stunned and instantly bent.
"Uncle!" He touches his wrist.
"Dear, please save my husband!" The old lady started crying.
Edwin immediately dialed Sam's number.
"Hello," Sam picked it up.
"Sam, bring the ambulance to the library right now! There is an emergency." He hurriedly explained.
Sam was stunned to suddenly hear about the ambulance.
"Ambulance?"
"Yes! Now do it fast!" Edwin warned.
"Alright, boss!" As soon as he spoke out, Edwin cut the call.
Sam felt nervous to think that something happened to Rebecca and he immediately called the ambulance.
After calling Sam. Edwin looked at the old man lying on the floor.
"Aunt, please side. I needed to first make him lie somewhere." Hearing him, she immediately gave him space and used the moment he shortly carried the man and took him to lie on the benches. While the old lady followed him.
"Ambulance is coming! You don't worry." Edwin assured her while she nodded and sat beside her husband.
While he suddenly thinks about Rebecca. He didn't see her with Aunt.
"Aunt, did you find Rebecca?" His face turned serious.
Aunt looked at him and shook her head.
"No dear, I didn't find her. I just saw my husband lying here unconscious." Her voice was shaken up.
Edwin felt worried for Rebecca after watching the old man's condition. He needs to find her.
"Aunt, you sit here. I need to find Rebecca." He hurriedly finished his words before walking towards another side to check on her.
He eventually thought to call her. He scrolled her name from the phone and pressed the call button.
He patiently waited to let the phone ring and when it happened he heard the slow sound coming from the counter side.
His brows twisted and he immediately went in the ringtone direction.
When he went to the counter he looked around and finally saw light coming from the books cupboard corner.
He bent to check there and finally found her phone.
He picked it out and found it was almost smashed. Like someone threw the phone with force and now it's clear for him…She is here and not going anywhere.
Then where is she? Why can't he find her? Is she in any trouble?
"Damn it!" He clenched the phone.
While he stood back and started checking around the library corners one by one. He checked the washroom, and the old man's cabin again. But everything is empty.
In the scroll, he heard some strange noise coming from further away.
He walked towards it and soon noticed an old room whose door was closed.
He felt suspicious.
But when he came closer the strange voice stopped and this made him doubt more.
His face grimaced. He lightly tried to push the door with a handle. But the next moment he realized it was locked from inside. As there is no lock outside.
'It means someone inside there.' He thought and next moment believed it should be Rebecca.
For checking out, he tried to call her name.
"Rebecca!"
"Are you there?" He bangs on the door.
But no sound came from inside.
He tried again.
"Rebecca, are you there?"
This time he bangs the door a little forcefully. If she's there. She should answer.
But hearing nothing again and too much silence before then he felt impatience.
"Rebecca, if you are there, speak out, or else I'll break this door!" He yelled this time feeling furious.
And the next moment, without waiting he used his one leg to high kick on the door but it was tough. So, he started kicking it again and again until the door tore open with a tearing bang.
