Chapter 169: Chapter 169

Edwin stopped his fast-speed car on the roadside after arriving at the library area. He glanced outside through the car's window before getting out of it.

With his fuming expression. He looked angry as his forehead formed many lines out there.

He closed the car door with a loud bang before moving towards the narrow way where people are too less passing through.

He looked at the wristwatch and hoped she would get out of there by herself or else he would carry her in his arms to get her out there without caring about her anger anymore.

He already warned her last night and even threatened her but still, she chose to work here. It means he has no choice but to play like a king to get his way.

After knowing that she's still working out there after last night's incident. He doesn't think anyone can make him feel this angry and furious except her.

She knew he couldn't help but feel worried about her and the baby. She is still here and doing job. How could he bered that?

He crossed the narrow way when his phone ring got his attention and he stopped his way to take it.

"Hello." He answered it.

"Hello, Boss." Sam awkwardly replied to him.

"Why the hell are you calling? What work is now out?" He angrily inquired.

"Boss, it's not related to work but Ms.Rebecca."

Edwin's brows arched to hear him.

"Now, what new news do you get?" He coldly questioned him.

"Boss, Julia told me today that Ms.Rebecca was upset after you threatened her. So, I just want to advise you as a well-wisher, please don't be angry with Ms." Sam's voice almost shook up to advise him.

Edwin clenched his fist as he filled with anger, "So, now you will advise me on how to talk to her?"

"Sorry, boss. But I don't mean that I just hope…your angry words don't push her far from you. She is pregnant and I think you should support her or even if you want to advise her…choose wise words without letting her hurt. Please try to be less angry with her. There are no issues that can't be solved without talking."

Edwin felt silent to hear Sam's words.

He got his words and finally realized where he made the mistake…He should not force her to do as he wants. He can explain her another way but at that time he was so angry and stressed that he did not think before reacting and even now he is going to repeat that.

"Boss, are you there?" Sam hesitated.

"Yes," Edwin responded.

Sam felt he said too much, so he tried to apologize the next moment, "Sorry boss…if you feel my words are too much but I just want to help you."

"Sam." Edwin's voice stopped her from talking further.

"Yes, Boss!" He replied shortly with nervousness.

"Thank you for your advice. I'll remember that."

Hearing Edwin's words Sam blinked his eyes in disbelief. As his lips finally curled up.

"Anything for you Boss," Sam responded while Edwin finally disconnected the call.

Sam didn't believe what he just heard. His boss told him to 'thank you'.

This is something he never imagined in this life at least. However, now he can say, love changes people.

And he is glad that he could advise him. Because of the way Edwin left the cabin, he felt nervous about it and finally made up his mind to call him.

Edwin took a long breath as he put the phone back into his suit jacket.

"Sam's words were true. I need to be careful of my words even if I'm angry. I can't let Rebecca feel upset more because of my behavior. It will only create distance. I need to be calm and try to take things slowly…"

"I'll only talk with her and request to drop her home. By any chance, if she denies it, I'll just follow her to the home behind." He told himself before taking steps finally towards the library direction again.

However, when he stood in front of the library gate. He found there is a 'Close' sign board present on it.

His brows frowned as he could see there is lights on inside.

He looked at the wrist watch there is still one hour left for the official closing.

"Did she already leave?" He mumbled to himself.

While next moment he dialed Sam's number.

"Hello, Boss,"

"Sam, call Julia and ask her to know where Rebecca is right now. Because the library is closed."

"Alright, Boss. I'll call her. I think Ms.Rebecca is already on her way home."

"Still, inform me." Saying that Edwin disconnects the call.

He glanced at the coffee shop where the light is still on. He thought to confirm from there when the library exactly closed.

He soon walks towards it.

After reaching the door, he found it was still open, so he entered inside.

The coffee owner lady heard the door opening sound come out from her kitchen.

And when she saw Edwin, she could not help but smile happily.

"Oh! Young man!" She walk towards him while he stood in his place.

"Please come. I never thought you would come at this time." She's happy to see him again.

Edwin lightly flashed a smile and asked, "Aunt, I want to ask something."

"And what is that?" She always carries a warm smile.

"When is the library exactly closed? I mean to time…"

"Library closed?" Her eyes enlarged with surprise.

"Yes, I just came from there. It's closed." Edwin saw her reaction and stated that.

"But how could that be?"

"My husband never closed the library this soon." She responded while sounding a little stunned.

Edwin felt amazed to hear her statement.

"Your husband?" He asked.

"Yes, the owner of the library is my husband. It belongs to us with this coffee shop."

Edwin never thought he was talking to the library's owner's wife.

"So, you also don't realize that the library was closed?"

"No, I was busy in the kitchen. But we can check and go there. He should be inside. Even though the library was closed, he stayed there to read books until I closed my coffee shop."

Edwin now understands why the old man stays there even when there is no customer. He looked out to his wife.

"Aunt, do you know Rebecca?" Edwin directly asked her.

"Yes, she had worked in my husband's library."

"Did you meet her today?"

"Do you know her?" The lady asked to see him questioning her.

And Edwin doesn't know why but he felt the first time he spoke without hiding.

"Yes, she's a person I'm looking out from seating here."

The old lady was stunned.

"Oh my! You are her family…"

"Yes, and I come to take her as it's her last day at work."

"Yeah, I met her today and asked her to send tea to my husband before going."

Edwin nodded while his phone attracted his attention.

He looked at the screen and then lady.

"Excuse me."

She nodded.

Edwin went to the corner and picked up the call. While the lady went to the window and checked on the library building. She saw the lights still on. But her husband off the light when he places the closing board. To let the customer know.

She felt a little suspicious but then thought he should forget it or it could be that Rebecca is with him that's why he let the light on.

"Hello, Sam."

"Did you find where she is?" Edwin immediately asked.

"Boss, Julia informed me Ms.Rebecca's phone is unreachable."

"So?" Edwin questioned.

"Julia believes Ms.Rebeeca is still there. Because she didn't even text her about a departure from there."

"Alright, I'll check," Edwin responded and cut the call.

As soon as he pulled back the phone to jacket.

The lady comes towards him.

"Young man, if you want to check if she's here or not. Let's check on the library. I got the keys with me."

Edwin nodded.

The old lady went to the drawer and took out the keys from it.

"Let's go." She declared while Edwin followed her.

The old lady closed the coffee shop door before walking out of it.

As they walked into the way, the old lady looked at Edwin's firm expression but she could guess he was worried for Rebecca.

So, she tried to give her words, "Don't worry, young man, she should be there with uncle…"

Edwin glanced at the lady. While she continued, "Today my husband's health is not well and he informed me that a sweet girl is working to help him before finally bidding bye."

"She should be working there…"

Edwin nodded and felt a little calm to hear her and hoped to see Rebecca inside there.

'Rebecca, hope you are fine. Because I don't know why I feel something is not right.' He speaks inside his mind while they almost arrived at the library door.
