Chapter 161: Chapter 161

In His Cabin,

"Good morning, Boss."

Sam looked at Edwin who was standing in front of the French window and staring at the tall buildings with a deep gaze.

Hearing a greeting, Edwin turned around and looked at him with a strict expression.

"Did you get any news from Julia?" He didn't tell him Rebecca's name but asked about Julia, he directly asked him about Rebecca. If she is still going to work there or if she changed her mind. After their last conversation. He wanted to know everything.

"Boss, Julia informed me Ms.Rebecca made a decision not to work there any longer. She agreed to resign from there." Sam flashed a small smile as he thought this news was going to make Edwin's mood relax finally.

However, Edwin just nodded doubtedly and raised another question, "Was she already informed about that to the library owner?"

To which Sam soon replied, shaking his head in denial, "No, she didn't. But she told Julia that she wanted to bid bye herself going there last time."

Edwin frowned to hear that and thought she could simply call and tell the owner about not working there. Why does she need to go there again?

Sam noticed his boss' reaction and soon added, "But only for speaking. She promised Julia that she would come faster after talking to him."

Edwin's expression slightly changed and he ordered.

"Alright, you can go back and check new project details."

Sam nodded, "Alright, Boss."

Sam turned to leave the cabin when Edwin suddenly called him from behind back.

"Sam!"

Sam turned instantly and answered, "Yes, Boss."

Edwin again turned towards the window and glanced at the large sky before questioning, "Sam, is she alright? Did she cry after coming back home?"

Sam looked at Edwin's back which looked too lonely. He felt too bad for him.

"You didn't answer? Edwin's voice got him back from his deep thought to answer him back, "Yes, she cried. Julia told me, ``Ms. Rebecca is blaming herself and thinking she is…" He shrugged.

"She is what? Sam?" Edwin didn't turn but his body tightened to hear his words that she cried. It is also his fault. He made her cry. He threatened her without caring about its outcome. He can tell Sam to ask Julia to make her not do this job. But he is the dumbest when it comes to her and his baby.

"She is a bad mother. She didn't think about the dangerous situation."

Edwin clenched his hand as he remembered his last words with her where he angrily told her how she forgot about her child's safety.

He felt too bad at this moment.

"Then what happened?" He asked.

"Julia comforted her and explained it was not her fault. Mother is also a simple human being and could make a mistake. It doesn't mean. She is bad or didn't care about her child. She just wanted to work for her baby's better future. There is nothing wrong with it."

Sam's words made Edwin also realize how wrong he was last night. Julia's words were true. Parents are also human beings and could make wrong choices sometimes but it doesn't mean they didn't think about their child.

He touched the window glass and bent his head and shoulder lightly. While his eyes closed.

'I'm sorry, Rebecca…once again.'

"Boss, are you alright?" Watching Edwin getting upset. He felt concerned and asked him.

"Yes, I'm alright. You can go and please ask Julia when Rebecca comes back from there to call you and inform me. I request her." His voice was pale.

Sam never thought Edwin would ask him to request Julia.

"Alright, Boss. I'll inform her now."

"Good, you can go." Sam nodded and turned to leave the cabin.

When he touched the doorknob and was ready to pull it, he turned his head in the window direction last time and looked at Edwin who was still in the same position.

He sighed deeply and shook his head.

Apartment

"Alright Sam, I'll inform you of Rebecca's arrival. Ask Edwin, not to worry."

Julia's response made Sam too glad.

"Thank you, Julia, for understanding the boss's situation."

"Not truly Sam. I can't understand the situation. But watching his love, care, and concern. I can only hope things get better for him and Rebecca."

"I understand your words, Julia. But still a big thank you to help us."

Julia hummed.

"You are not leaving?" Julia glanced at Rebecca who was still in her pajamas and doing cooking.

"I'll leave one hour later, but before me, you should go and get ready. Don't you need to go before the time today?"

Julia nodded to her words.

"Yeah, I know. I'm just going to take a quick shower."

"Alright." Rebecca's lips curled up lightly. While saying that, Julia went back to her room.

After preparing the breakfast, she started arranging the breakfast on the dining table.

When Julia comes after dressing up.

"Wow, the food looks delicious." She licked her lips as she sat on her chair.

Rebecca smiled to see her reaction and served meals on the plate.

Julia soon started digging into it. While Rebecca slowly ate her meal.

"Rebecca, when you arrive there and leave after talking, call me both times. Don't forget that." Julia's eyes turned serious as she made her remember to not forget to call her.

"Alright. Don't worry. I'll do that. I already promised you last night." Rebecca replied.

"Yeah, you did. Hope you are back fast soon. Don't stay there."

"Julia, please do not worry. I'll just bid goodbye and come back." Rebecca assured her. Only then did Julia feel relieved.

"Alright, I'm done with eating. I'm leaving now." She stood from her chair and announced.

Rebecca nodded and she left to take her purse on her one shoulder.

"Bye babes!"

"Bye!" Rebecca responded as Julia opened the door and departed.

Rebecca turned and looked at the wall clock.

"I should also get ready. It's already getting time." She mumbled to herself and walked towards her room.
