Chapter 127: Chapter 127
"You already come back?" Rebecca felt a little surprised to see Julia already arrived in the afternoon.
Julia put the hand purse on the small table and sat on the couch while her mood was still sour after talking with the two ass men in the office and she didn't want to stay longer, that's why she just left the office saying she had an emergency.
"What happened?" Rebecca sat on a single couch and stared at her with a questionable gaze.
Julia looked at her and gave a smaller smile shaking her head.
"Nothing, I just don't feel like working today. So, I made up an emergency lie and got back home."
Rebecca nodded.
"So, how are you feeling?" Julia asked with a concerned tone.
Rebecca gave a gentle smile and replied, "I'm fine, Julia. You can see, isn't it?"
Julia smiled and nodded, "Yeah, I can see and I'm glad."
Julia can notice that there is no puffiness at all in Rebecca's eyes. She didn't cry. It means she's telling the truth to her.
Rebecca felt something was off with Julia. She could sense that. So, she again tried to talk.
"Julia."
"Hmm." She hummed.
"I know, you are hiding something from me. You just don't arrive soon because you are unwilling."
Julia stared at her while Rebecca continued, "Tell me the truth. Because if you don't do that. I can't stop thinking and being worried for you."
Julia sighed helplessly and said, "Alright, I'll tell you the truth but you are not going to be angry."
Rebecca's brows arched and nodded.
Seeing her gesture, she started the talk.
"Actually, when I arrived at the office. Edwin called me to his cabin."
Hearing Edwin's name, Rebecca's face frowned.
"But why? What does he need from you?" She asked.
To which Julia sighed and responded, "He wanted to know about your condition from me. If you are alright or not."
Rebecca chuckled inside her mind bitterly. She doesn't understand if he wanted to provoke her with his fake care.
"What did you say then?" She asked further.
"I scolded him and told him, he doesn't deserve you and baby. I used slang on him. That he is an asshole."
Listening to that Rebecca felt tense not for Edwin because he deserved those words but for Julia. She is just an employee and he is the boss. What if he gets angry with Julia for these rude words and throws her from his office? This is what she is scared of.
She doesn't want her friend to suffer by any chance because of her issue with Edwin.
"Julia, why did you do that?"
"What if he angrily makes you dismissed from office because of your rude words?"
Rebecca's voice came out with little disappointment.
Julia sighed and said, "Then, let him do that. I'm not going to call that bastard my boss."
Rebecca shook her head and replied, " What about your job? You can't lose your job like this. If that happens, I can't forgive myself."
Rebecca's words made Julia realize what she did is not right. She made her worried.
"I'm sorry, babe. But I can't control my anger."
Rebecca bit her lower lips, she knew Julia all did this for her. If she is in her place, she will also think the same way or do the same.
"It's alright." Rebecca turned calm. She gently replied and added, "I just hope. He doesn't do anything."
Julia finally smiled and went to hug her.
"Thank you, babe," Julia whispered while Rebecca prayed to God. Edwin doesn't take action against Julia in any way and forgets about that.
Julia went to sit on the couch again while Rebecca raised one more question, "Julia, is that all you said? Or is there more happening? Because I don't think only Edwin's made you this angry to come back home."
Julia shrugged in her place. While Rebecca instantly senses there is something more.
"Julia, tell me the complete story."
Julia knew she couldn't ignore her question, so she finally wanted it to be true.
"Rebecca, after leaving Edwin's cabin, Mr. Sam came to talk to me but I was so angry with him also. Because he knew the truth about his boss. However, he didn't speak about it. He stayed silent and tried to look friendly with us. I bet he is the one who should be helping Edwin to identify you in the first place. As he is his right-hand man. He truly deserves his position. But now I hope to never see him again." The anger almost covers Julia's eyes as she speaks about Sam. She started to like that man during their first meeting and thought to move their interaction to the second level. But now she doesn't even hope to see him again.
Rebecca could sense all her friend's feelings by her words and felt sorry to see her friend hurt like this because of her situation.
Julia thinks like that and makes this type of decision for Sam, only for her suffering.
"Julia, do you like Sam?" Rebecca knew the answer but still wanted to hear from her friend.
Julia flicked her eyelashes and stared at her awkwardly.
"Why…Why did you think like that?"
Rebecca shook her head and said, "This is not my answer. Just tell me the truth. Whatever you felt for him."
Julia finally broke her last resistance and nodded to her yes.
"Yes, Rebecca. I like him and that's why it hurts to realize the person I'm thinking of is my prince charming. He is just another asshole. I'm sorry to hide my feelings from you. It's not like I don't want to share but I just wanted to be sure about him…" She halts for a moment.
"But now, I think, I already knew everything." She felt disappointed by her voice and Rebecca could feel that and immediately held her hand to squeeze it lightly to give her some support and added some words at last, "Julia, first of all, you don't need to apologize. Because I already know about your feelings but wanted to hear from you."
Julia felt stunned while Rebecca showed a small weak smile.
"I saw him calling you many times during office time and I also saw your phone screen popping his name at our dinner time."
Julia bit her lower lips as she thought Rebecca didn't realize that but how? when she always throws her phone at home everywhere and Rebecca is the one who arranged for her phone to stay in one place.
"I'm sorry. I didn't check your phone. It's just his name that always comes on screen." Rebecca clarified.
Julia understood her words and shook her head to tell her that it was not her fault to see his name on her phone.
