Chapter 73: Chapter 73
Mother Mo felt proud of his daughter-in-law and praised her, "Xiao Xi, you did well. You are going to be lady head of Mo family later, so you should never bow down to others, especially towards those who have the inherent nature of being greedy."
"Has she always been like this?" Yun Xi asked.
Mother Mo sighed and answered, "Not only her, but the whole family is also like that. You should be careful of them, they don't leave any chance to demean others. If I didn't have your dad and your grandparents' support, I would have been bullied by them repeatedly."
Yun Xi was surprised by the revelation but didn't ask more.
...
Mo Shan was sitting with Ray in one of the peaceful corners, spending time with his daughter. Xiao Hui was also next to them as he was also feeling bored at the party without his sister and Shadow. In between, Mo Shan's eyes were also following Yun Xi. Xiao Hui was also looking at his mother in a while when he saw Ou Mi approaching his mother. "I don't like that grandaunt," he said in a low voice, but Mo Shan clearly heard him.
"Who?" he asked his son.
Being caught, Xiao Hui bit his lips and said, "The one who is approaching Mommy."
Mo Shan's eyes followed his son's and they narrowed when he found that it was Ou Mi. He stood up to walk to his wife when someone came to stand in front of him, blocking his view. It was Mo Jing, Mo Zian's younger son. Mo Shan wanted to walk past him but was blocked once again. Before he could speak, Mo Jing cut his words and said, "So here you are. I have been searching for you since I arrived."
Mo Shan didn't really want to meet anyone, especially Mo Zian's family, but somehow, they would always find him first. And he could not even ignore them directly as it would make them suspicious of his actions. It is not the time to cut ties with them yet since they were yet to gather evidence against them. Although Old Master was head of the family, he still needed to show the proof to the clan members, so Mo Shan could not touch Mo Zian's family yet. He has just been hoping that they would make a mistake so that he could gather evidence against them and eliminate them from Mo Family at once.
Since the two adults were looking at each other, they missed Xiao Hui's expression. Xiao Hui was just lowering his head, not wanting to meet Mo Jing's eyes. Xiao Hui never liked their family. Their sons, despite being of Xiao Hui's age, never like him, and Xiao Hui was very aware of that fact. They even used to tease him for not having a mother. But Xiao Hui never complained about it to Mo Shan because he didn't want to sadden his father.
Just then, Ray made a crying noise, providing Mo Shan a chance to excuse himself from Mo Jing. "I think my daughter is hungry. Let me go and search for her mother. We will talk later, Uncle." Saying that, Mo Shan walked away, along with Xiao Hui.
Mo Shan really thought Ray was hungry since she would seldom cry. But much to his surprise, she stopped crying after they were away from Mo Jing. "Did you cry intentionally?" Mo Shan asked his daughter as if she would answer him yes the next second. He was really amazed by his daughter. How could she start crying at the exact time? "You have started helping daddy, huh?"
"Of course, my sister is the smartest," Xiao Hui exclaimed from his side.
Mo Shan laughed at his reasoning and said, "Yes, yes, your sister is the smartest."
Bickering and giggling, the father-son duo reached the place where Mother Mo and Yun Xi were standing. "What was she doing here?" Mo Shan asked.
Yun Xi was confused as to whom he was referring to, but Mother Mo realized that he was talking about Ou Mi. She replied, "As usual, what she always does. You know how she is."
Hearing her words, Mo Shan's eyes turned cold. If he could, he just wanted to keep Yun Xi and his children away from that family. Mo Shan had heard of how that woman used to treat his mother in the past, so he absolutely could not stand the sight of that woman. Now she was trying to do the same with his wife and his daughter. Of course, he would not allow it.
Seeing that he was getting affected, Yun Xi hurriedly changed the topic. "By the way, why were you here?"
"Oh, Ray was crying. Maybe she is hungry," Mo Shan stated. Though her crying was fake, it was nearing her feeding time, so he decided to feed her now.
"Oh, I will feed her then." With that, she took Ray from him and carried her upstairs to their room. To her surprise, Mo Shan followed behind her.
Mother Mo was about to follow Yun Xi at first, but when she saw her son tailing behind Yun Xi, she stopped in her steps. She did not want to be a third-wheel in between their quality time.
Fortunately, Xiao Hui also didn't disturb them as he also had to feed Shadow. So, he went to get a helper to carry food for Shadow, and together, they walked to his room. Mo Shan already had a kennel for Shadow delivered. And Xiao Hui didn't want him to be away from himself, so he asked Mo Shan to set up the kennel in his room.
Mo Shan even hired a husky trainer to help Xiao Hui with Shadow. Now Xiao Hui could tell when Shadow wants to pee, poop, or eat from his body language. He was very happy while learning all those lessons.
...
Upstairs, Yun Xi sat on the bed with Ray on her lap. She was about to feed Ray when she noticed a problem. She was wearing a gown. And to feed Ray, she had to open her zip on her back and let her dress fall. But Mo Shan was in the room, staring at her. She was speechless at her situation. She then looked at Mo Shan with her puppy eyes, indicating him to go out, but he just continued standing there as if he didn't get her message.
Rather than going out, he instead said, "Oh, you need help with your dress?" Having said that, he walked to her nonchalantly and even pulled down her zip.
