Next day, the contract with the Mayor's signature arrived at the company. Everyone in the branch office was overjoyed as it was one of the biggest projects they had ever taken over. Higher-ups especially organized a dinner to thank Mo Sheng for solving the problem in the shortest time possible.

After dinner, Mo Sheng directly left for A City. It was nighttime when he reached the Mo Mansion. Family members were about to start their dinner when he entered the mansion. Ray was being carried by Butler Li while the rest of the family members were seated on their respective chairs.

When Mother Mo saw Mo Sheng, she told him to freshen up and come down for dinner. Mo Sheng had already had dinner earlier, but he did not reject Mother Mo. No matter what, home-cooked food was the best for him. So no matter how full he was, there would always be a little area of his stomach empty for it.

Mo Sheng was quick with freshening up. The first thing he did after entering the dining area was to greet his niece. "Uncle missed you these few days. I have brought you and your brother some gifts. I will show them to you later." Talking to his niece for a while, he took a seat, and soon the dinner was served for him.

Opposite to him, Yun Xi was helping Xiao Hui with his fish. She only served the fish to Xiao Hui after making sure that all the bones were removed. While she was doing so for Xiao Hui, Mo Shan was serving the food to Yun Xi. Her dishes were different from the rest of the family members as she was still recovering. But she did not want to eat alone, so she would eat with everyone at the dining table.

"Is it tasty?" Yun Xi asked Xiao Hui. Xiao Hui's mouth was full of food and his cheeks were bulging out, so he nodded his head to answer his mother as he could not speak. Yun Xi chuckled at his gesture and patted his head, "Eat more." Xiao Hui was starting to eat more these days as Mo Shan had enrolled him to learn some physical activities. Everyone was happy with his increased appetite as he used to eat very little before Yun Xi's arrival.

Mo Sheng was the first to finish his meal as he ate the least from others. Done with his dinner, he took Ray from Butler Li and walked to the living room. These days, everyone's daily was to meet Ray before leaving the house and after returning.

As he was playing with Ray in his lap, he saw something wrapped in a blanket from the corner of his eyes. "What is it?" he wondered and looked inside the blanket curiously. There he saw a puppy sleeping peacefully. It still looked very young. Before he could touch it, someone ran past him and carried the puppy along with the blanket. The one who carried it was none other than Xiao Hui.

"It's mine," he claimed, narrowing his eyes at his uncle. Though Shadow was brought as a gift for Ray, Xiao Hui fell in love with it at a glance. Yun Xi also gave Shadow to him as Ray was still small and Shadow needed to be taken care of. But the main reason she handed it to Xiao Hui was so that he could learn how to take care of his belongings, and also to grow a sense of compassion and love in him. The little things that one learns as a child contribute greatly to the future. So, she wanted Xiao Hui to learn these things.

And now Xiao Hui really started treating Shadow as his own child. The moment he would have free time, he would cuddle Shadow in his embrace. He also learned to feed milk to Shadow and Ray from bottles. And Yun Xi was really proud of him.

"Who gifted it? And what's its name?" Mo Sheng asked curiously.

"Shadow. Shadow is his name. Grandpa Ji gifted him to Ray and me." Xiao Hui answered as he fed milk to the pup.

Mo Sheng thought when did the Old Man Ji start gifting to others. Because Elder Ji was someone who valued sincere feelings more than gifts and presents. But on the second thought, it was quite possible as he loved Yun Xi and the children. Mo Sheng then nodded his head in understanding.

The whole family was seated in the hall after dinner.

"Father, has Shadow's home been built?" Xiao Hui asked his father. He was referring to the kennel for Shadow. Mo Shan had told him that he would get someone to build one for Shadow.

"It will arrive tomorrow. Until then, you can make him sleep in your room," Mo Shan replied. Xiao Hui's eyes twinkled in glee at his words. He would absolutely love that. Yun Xi pinched his cheek at the little bun's cuteness.

"Goodnight, baby." She kissed him goodnight and walked to her room with Mo Shan's help. Walking was still a bit difficult for her.

"Goodnight, Mommy." Xiao Hui replied, and he too walked upstairs with Mo Sheng and Shadow.

It was the time of winter, so naturally, it was very cold, especially at night. So, no one stayed for long in the hall.

Old Master Mo went to sleep in his room. Mother Mo followed Yun Xi and Mo Shan with Ray in her arms. And Father Mo walked to his own room to arrange the sheets and blankets. Since Ray would be brought to their room in the morning, they have to make sure that the room temperature was idle for babies.

The family members were very keen on maintaining a constant temperature in the mansion as much as they can for Ray. It was because the doctor had once informed Mo Shan about the cases of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). It means the sudden death of infants because of a sudden drop or rise in temperatures. From the day he heard that Mo Shan made sure that the rooms were well-ventilated, and he even installed thermostats in the whole mansion. To be more careful, they also stopped using ACs and heaters for a long time in presence of Ray.

In Mo Shan and Yun Xi's room, Mother Mo laid Ray in the bed.

Ray's massage routine was two times a day. One in the morning around 10-11 am under sunlight, and one at night. Yun Xi's massage routine was also the same. So every night, Mother Mo would massage Ray, while Mo Shan would massage Yun Xi.

The first few days, Yun Xi used to feel very shy to undress in front of Mother Mo and Mo Shan. Though it was only the upper half, she used to be very embarrassed, but now she was slowly getting used to it. She would even breastfeed Ray directly in front of others as she slowly started to feel that it was not a huge deal to breastfeed in presence of others. She was just feeding her child and nothing else. So, women should not feel embarrassed about it.

The family members also never dissed her to breastfeed in private. Rather, to make her feel more comfortable, Father Mo and Old Master Mo would leave her alone with Ray. As she got her family's support in everything, her confidence also started rising. Now she would not turn beetroot as she used to during massage time.

Mother Mo turned the heater on during the massage period. After getting Yun Xi and Ray dressed, she would turn it off again. "I can't believe that she is already a week old." Mother Mo dreamily said, gazing at Ray.

Yun Xi also smiled at her words. It has really been a week since Ray entered their lives, and it has been a huge emotional ride for them.

"Her skin is also being cleared of wrinkles," Yun Xi stated. When she was born, she was so wrinkly. But as the days passed, it was fading off.

"Every child is wrinkly when they are borne. It is nothing to be worried about," Mother Mo said as she leaned down to smooch her granddaughter. "Yun Xi, thank you very much for getting her into our lives." And she really meant those words.

As the conversation was turning a bit emotional, Mo Shan interrupted them. "Alright, go to sleep now, Mother. They need rest."

Mother Mo then left for her own room.

After she left, Mo Shan said, "Feed her for a while. You can then go to sleep."

"What about you?" asked Yun Xi. These days, most of his time was being spent on taking care of Ray. Even at night, he would wake up as soon as he feels Ray move or cry. So, Yun Xi was worried that he was not getting enough rest by himself.

"I will also sleep after making her sleep. Don't worry about it. I was already ready to be awake all night after her arrival because I heard that parents cannot get a wink of sleep because of the baby. But my daughter is very nice. She would only cry when she wets herself or when she is hungry. So, I have been getting good amounts of sleep every night." Mo Shan did not forget to praise his daughter.

Yun Xi knew that she would not be able to stop him, so she did as he said. She fed Ray and then went to sleep. Mo Shan carried Ray in his arms and only laid her down after making sure that she has burped. After a while, Ray fell asleep. Mo Shan too laid on her side and closed his eyes.
