A few days later, Yun Xi's antenatal exercise commenced as per the doctor's order. Every morning, Mo Shan would accompany her for the exercise in the presence of professionals. Along with antenatal exercise, they would also take part in other pregnancy-related classes.

As her stomach started growing, it became difficult for her to crouch down, sleep, and do other similar activities. Family members also started becoming more careful towards her.

The best news was Mo Shan and Yun Xi started becoming more closer during this period. Mo Shan pleasured his wife a few times too. Family members could also see that they were getting closer to each other, and everyone was happy about it.

Mo Shan was not only getting closer to Yun Xi, but also the child inside her. Every night, he would communicate with the baby while giving her baby bump a few kisses.

Yun Xi would never forget his reaction when the baby kicked for the first time. It was nighttime, and he was talking with the baby as usual. He had nearly jumped when they felt the baby's first kick.

"D- Did the baby just kick? It was her, right?" He asked her, trying to clear his doubt.

Yun Xi did not reply as she was also surprised by it. She also looked at him in wonder, opening and closing her mouth, but no words came out of her mouth.

As if to confirm their doubt, the baby kicked again. Mo Shan excitedly rubbed the area. After a while, he gave her a worried look and asked, "Did it hurt?"

Yun Xi shook her head with misty eyes. "It doesn't. It feels great."

One fine morning, Yun Xi was reading a newspaper while sipping on the glass of milk. Just then, her cell phone vibrated because of a notification. She placed the newspaper on her lap, but when she tried to get her cellphone, it fell from her lap.

Yun Xi sighed and tried to get the newspaper, but her hand was not reaching the floor. With no other way left, Yun Xi stood up from her chair and tried to crouch down while holding her bulging stomach.

Just then, the door opened, and Mo Shan walked in. His eyes narrowed when he saw the scene inside.

"Careful! You will hurt my child," Mo Shan shouted while hurrying towards her side. He then made her sit on the chair.

Yun Xi was shocked when she heard his shout. She patted her chest in relief and murmured, "I thought the child is mine?"

"Yes, she is yours. But you both are mine now." He said, biting her lower lip as a form of punishment.

Yun Xi hissed at the sensation and thought, "I was just bending down to pick up the newspaper. How am I hurting the child?" She wondered but didn't dare to voice her thoughts. She was afraid that she would get scolded more.

After making her sit properly, Mo Shan found a newspaper on the floor. He could guess what had conspired earlier. He picked it up and handed it to her. "Don't bend or crouch down so easily. What if you hurt yourself and the baby? Just call someone to do chores for you."

"But I am not that delicate," she complained, pouting.

Mo Shan gently flicked her forehead when he heard that. "You are not, but my daughter inside you is."

"Aren't you leaving for work yet?" Yun Xi asked him, feeling annoyed.

"It's Sunday, darling. We are going to visit the doctor today." Mo Shan replied, pinching her cheeks. "Chubby," he murmured, but Yun Xi clearly heard that.

"I heard that," Yun Xi said, glaring at him.

"I know. It was meant to be heard."

She had grown chubby in these months as she was just eating and resting all the time. Mother Mo also praised that she looked more beautiful in the chubby form, but Yun Xi knew that they were just trying for her not to overthink and be conscious of her weight. But in reality, Yun Xi did not really mind it as long as the baby was growing well and healthy.

After a few more minutes of them bickering, Mo Shan helped his wife get ready to go to the hospital. It was her last appointment with the doctor. They were going to get the due date of her delivery that day, so Yun Xi was quite nervous. Feeling her nervousness, Mo Shan gripped her hand tightly in his and said, "Relax. Everything will be fine. We are ready for the baby's arrival. Remember all the classes and exercises we did."

Their appointment took an hour and a half. The due date was around a month later, and the doctor suggested walking more often. She also advised climbing stairs more often as it would help relax her pelvic muscles which will make it easier for her to give birth.

From that day onwards, Mo Shan decided not to go to the office anymore and instead work from home. He also made a separate routine to accompany her in her walks and stairs climbing.

All the family members strictly followed the routine. Whenever Mo Shan did not have free time to accompany his wife, one of the family members would gladly fill his spot.

Sometimes, Yun Xi would feel contractions and some pain because of the baby's kick. Mo Shan would then gently rub the area and also talk with the child to be more obedient.

Yun Xi had to use the toilet more often during this period as the doctor advised her to drink more water and other liquid foods. And every time, Mo Shan would follow her and wait for her outside the door while she did her business.

The whole month, every family members were on their toes, worrying about her and the child.

A week before her due date, something unexpected happened on one of the branches of Mo Corporation in another city which required Mo Shan's visit. He refused at first as he did not want to leave his wife alone.

But Yun Xi convinced him into going. "Don't worry. Mom will accompany me during the night. As for the day, everyone is home. Also, there is still a week until the due date. You will be back by then. So, just go. We will be fine here."

After her insistence, Mo Shan agreed to leave. He promised that he will solve the problem soon and will be back before her due date.

Mo Shan then left with Assistant Zhang the very day so that he could return quickly. They traveled by his private jet and landed in another city around two hours later. But who knew that as soon as he landed, he would receive a piece of shocking news.
