Chapter 55: Chapter 55

[This is the last chapter where Linda will be. From this chapter on, she won't be mentioned anymore.]

Everyone was resting in their respective rooms, while Linda was being questioned by Mo Shan's me. Just then, the door opened, and in came Mo Sheng. But his usual comedic self was nowhere to be seen. Rather, he was looking very serious.

"Has she given every information?" He asked the man who was interrogating Linda.

"Working on it, sir." The man replied.

That moment, Linda knew that the third young master of the Mo Family was making a fool out of the people. His real self was nowhere close to his usual self. He looked so domineering in his real self like one cannot even meet his eyes under his pressuring gaze.

"Get every single detail from her. I do not want any more delay." Before leaving. he did not forget to leave some words behind for Linda, "Be grateful that my grandma is alright. If something had happened to her, you would not have lived to see tomorrow's sunlight."

Linda shivered, hearing his words.

After this incident, Linda learned several things. Earlier, she used to be jealous of Yun Xi and think that she was not suitable for Mo Shan. But after the incident, Yun Xi did not hesitate to speak for her. If she wanted, she could have hidden the note incident, but she did not do that. So, a sliver of respect arose inside her heart for Yun Xi. She also understood how Yun Xi managed to every family members' heart in such a short time.

After getting the full detail and also a sketch of the person, Linda was finally allowed to leave. To her surprise, Mo Shan had arranged everything for her and her mom abroad so they could live peacefully. She knew that it was all because of her care for Old Madam Mo all these years.

Later that night, Mo Shan made a movie plan so that Yun Xi won't overthink the incident. When they were having dinner, he secretly informed Butler Li to arrange everything in the room. He was planning to have a movie night in their room with a cozy atmosphere.

Yun Xi was surprised when she got back to their room. "I planned a movie night for us tonight," Mo Shan spoke from beside her.

As they walked in, Yun Xi was even more surprised by the cozy atmosphere. The lighting was adjusted to be a dim one. Also, a soft mattress was laid on the floor with pillows and a blanket.

"Hmm, I think we are sleeping on the floor today," commented Mo Shan. Even he did not expect it because he had just told Butler Li to arrange some snacks and all. This came as a surprise for him too.

"So, which movie are we watching?" Yun Xi asked, getting inside the blanket. "So warm," she commented.

Mo Shan also got seated beside her. He then took the remote and switched on the TV. "I don't know which movie it is. I just told Butler Li to get us something good to watch."

"It must be something nice if it is selected by Butler Li." Yun Xi remarked. But who knew she would be regretting her words soon.

The movie began. It was going fine at first. But after five minutes had passed by, suddenly the male lead and the female lead were on the bed. They started tugging at each other's clothes, and the next moment, they were naked.

Soon, the room was filled with the moans and grunts coming from the tv. Yun Xi's face turned red at the scene playing in front of her. Never in her dream did she think that Butler Li would pull such a stunt. She wanted to slap herself remembering the words she had spoken in Butler Li's favor earlier.

Even Mo Shan was feeling a bit uneasy, mainly with his wife sitting beside him. Hoping that the atmosphere would ease a bit, he cleared his throat and tried to close the tv. But the remote was suddenly not working anymore.

He closed his eyes and cursed Butler Li under his breath. He could have never that that old man would do something like this. Mo Shan could feel that Yun Xi has stiffened in his arms.

Even after five minutes, the couple on the screen were not stopping. Yun Xi's face was turning red by second. She could not even gather herself to look at Mo Shan.

All these months, they started becoming closer, but not close enough as to do the type of things that were playing on the screen.

Finally, after a while, the scene on the screen changed. Mo Shan handed her popcorn so that she would ease up a bit.

Yun Xi, realizing his intention, grabbed a few popcorns and started munching on them while sipping on the juice.

But once again, the scene changed and the leads found themselves on the bed once again. Yun Xi did not expect the scene to change so soon due to which she choked on the juice she was drinking. She started coughing while trying not to look at the screen.

Mo Shan hurriedly took the glass of juice from her hand and started patting her gently on the back.

"Are you alright?" He asked, "How can you be so careless?"

Yun Xi took a deep breath and nodded her head hurriedly while avoiding his eyes. The sounds coming from tv were getting louder and louder which made Yun Xi blush.

"Do you have to react like this? We are already grown up and matured. Moreover, we are husband and wife. It's normal to watch this type of movie together. Calm down now." Mo Shan said to her, still rubbing her back gently.

"That's right, Yun Xi. You are already over 18, and you are soon going to be a mother. Why are you acting as if you have been caught by your first love?" She chided herself.

Looking at Mo Shan, she nodded her head and shifted her eyes back to the screen.

She looked calm from outside, but inside, she was still chanting, "Calm down. Calm down."

Mo Shan sighed, looking at the quiet girl in his arms. Her heart was beating so loudly that even he could hear it. Getting up from the mattress, he walked to the tv and directly pulled the plug out, and the tv switched off.

"Enough movie for tonight. Let's sleep now." He said, sitting beside her again. With that said, he tucked her in the blanket in a way such that only her eyes were peeking out from it. Because the movie had affected him a bit, and he was afraid of losing control if he continued looking at her. But her cutely blinking eyes were not giving him any relief.

So, he turned around so as not to face her. Out of sight, out of mind.
